These guys are an entirely different breed.
ОтветитьThe song track of this video says it all. Anyone who dares without dedicating at least a full training year would be committing suicide.
ОтветитьDas Leben ist lebensgefährlich, YEPP 🐺😁🐺
ОтветитьWhy would they need to buy a ski ticket when they are just flying
ОтветитьI would have to snowplow the whole thing.😮
ОтветитьLauberhorn in Wengen is harder.
ОтветитьIf you hear the words "the world's most...", be sure somebody wants to sell you some shit like red_bullshit.
ОтветитьMaybe you should try the Granrisa La villa Val Badia in Italy …. Check out
ОтветитьThe only thing I can compare racing the Streif to is surfing the giant waves at Nazare , Portugal . Either way you have to be phenomenally skilled and batshit crazy . Big respect to those athletes.
ОтветитьLooks fast! I’ve only done cross country and I was going pretty quick with those skis so I can only imagine how fast I would go on a slope like this!! One day I’ll be sure to visit this one !
Ответить??? Not a single pov and a run, WTF ils this video
Ответитьi just imagine an avalanche chasing themnyooooom
Ответитьdamn THE RAGGED EDGE :)
ОтветитьI use to live on top of this mountain, back in 1992, and we would ski down the Streif at night....but mostly on full moons and so much slower...best times ever.
Ответить...and to top it off, it's 100% ice. Good luck
Ответитьthe Mausefalle (mouse‘s trap 😮) looks really scary…..
Ответитьthis is no longer skiing, it's ice skating
ОтветитьWell, that was insane.
ОтветитьI am a beyond the average skier and I skied on the Streif something like 15 years ago..
Everyone talks about how difficult Strief is (it’s insanely breathtaking) but it all starts when you are on top before starting there slope..
You feel the legend of the place overwhelming you..
You feel that you are in a special place..
The Werhmacht was once theree
ОтветитьJah, Overly produced, rude, vulgar cutting, difficult to actually see what is going on...An all very, "Ugly American." production. It COULD have been wonderful.
ОтветитьI was there in summer and walked down, just to get the feel of it. Well, nearly at least: In some spots it was so steep that the footpath deviated a little from the ski slope. Plenty of stairs to walk too. You cannot possibly understand how steep it is by watching it on TV!
ОтветитьI am from Austria, and like everyone knows this track out of sheer respect..
It's so insanly steep at times, you couldn't even walk up it even if there wasn't any ice.
Just one of the groups of humans that “stay safe” has zero meaning for.
ОтветитьTough course? Ken Read, Steve Podborski, Todd Brooker: give us our skis! The Crazy Canucks of the early 80s were fun to watch!🇨🇦
ОтветитьI hit fences several times while i am watching this video, my brain cant even process the video fast enough.
ОтветитьI can’t believe how bumpy it is
ОтветитьGood documentary about the most scary downhill race on the planet
ОтветитьAfter riding Streif several times as a amateur seeing these guys going down it at 140km/h is ridicolus..
Ответитьhe pizzad when he shoulda french fried
ОтветитьCool for those who enjoy it, but definitely not for me. I love to ski fast, but I don’t want to hear my skis on ice
ОтветитьInsanity
ОтветитьEvery camera angle every few seconds 🎥
ОтветитьIronically the best shot is the girl at the end who in profile releases the best wolf snarl I have ever seen.
Nordic defiance and fury.
what a horribly brutal sport
ОтветитьHow does it compare to the Downhill at Squaw Valley(Palisades Tahoe)? I first learned to ski in 1964 when my college roommate took me to the starting point for the 1960 Downhill run….with wood skis..and said he’d see me at the bottom. It took me 2 1/2 hours to get to the bottom. I fell about every 10 feet. I knew how to ski by the time I finished the run.
ОтветитьI am an excellent skier. I have been at it 30 years. I have read books on technique. I have been a big mountain instructor. I have pro level gear and tight fitting, very stiff expert level ski boots (like they do.) I could not hold a candle to these guys. In the locker room I saw another instructor who was also a racer. His legs looked like pure muscle- he was ripped. These guys not only have incredible technique- that is the easy part. They are conditioned like you would not believe. I simply don't have the strength to keep my edges in at nearly 87 mph which is the top speed on this course.
I was at Beaver Creek in Co. during The Birds of Prey Downhill FIS event years ago. I skied a small part of that course. It very quickly reminded me that I am not in the same league as these athletes. Another thing, before the race, they were watering down the course with big water hoses. This was to create a layer of ICE on top so edged don't carve into powder and make dangerous ruts. It makes the course much faster and would hurt a lot more when you fall. Most of the fast sections have huge compression, off camber turns. Momentum is taking you one way but the hill is sloping the other way. It is beyond challenging. No thanks. Hats off to these people who put it all on the line with every run- even practice. One fall can leave them permanently disabled. Fun to watch but no thanks. I'll remain a fan.
Some credit needs to go to the ski techs, coaches and Jesus.
ОтветитьFinishing is winning.
ОтветитьAwesome crazy racing steep icey mountain. I've never tried fast even close downhill to that, but just wondering if you loose time in air could like in motocross racing, preload and do little jump just before you launch so that you land closer to back of drop. I know these people have split seconds to react at that speed in those conditions when pressure is on not only to try and win but make it to the bottom in one piece. Sic video Avagud1
ОтветитьWOW!! Just surviving this gets your mind off your headache...AND everything else!!
ОтветитьFire your editor - how do you make that video without showing a full end-to-end run?
Ответитьthere are brave skiers and there are old skiers, but there are no old brave skiers
ОтветитьNo room for error or else you will crash.
ОтветитьАналогия гонщикам с острова Мэн ТТ
ОтветитьInSANE!
ОтветитьSo one time I was being pulled up by that tug rope on skis, and I still need some practice on skiing. Then the rope started to get heavier for some reason, I just fell, and the way I fell hurt my left leg SO BAD that I screamed in pain on accident because it hurt so much. An hour after that, my leg was still sore.
