What is happening in Ernakulam Angamaly Syro-Malabar diocese is nothing but the manifestation of an unholy power struggle. There is nothing holy about the holy catholic Church of Kerala.
Once Syro-Malabar church decide to accept the authority of the Pope, the most logical thing would have been to merge the Latin, Malankara, Malabar and Kananaya churches and evolve one common mass based on the Oriental customs. Of course, his lordships would never permit that because of their hunger for power and blatant racism. Mingling with the Latin Catholics would damage their Brahmanical origins. Moreover the heads of the three oriental churches enjoy unlimited power. Rome is afraid of them. Rome blindly accedes to any demand raised by them lest they should secede from the church. Even the present order early implementation of the 'Backward' mass is obtained through subterfuge. Within the Syro-Malabar church, there is an unspoken rivalry between the southern dioceses and Central dioceses. Mar Pawathil introduced the backward mass to assert the supremacy of Pala. Now they want to subjugate the whole church by unifying the liturgy. The clergy from Pala are wily politicians. Majority of Indian bishops have hailed from Pala. Most of the Cardinals too have been Southerners. The priests of Angamaly, Irinjalakuda, Trichur, Palakkad and Coimbatore resent this. They are threatened in their own den as Ernakulam has many settlers from the south.
Power is so important for them that they hardly bother about the damage to the image of the church or the demoralisation the laity. The abusive language that they hurl at Escher is evidence enough for their indifference to spiritual affairs. They want power and glory of this world and not of the kingdom of God. There are so many machinations and manipulations in the Church that the discerning laity of today are scandalised. The Christ exhorts to drown these scandal givers in the sea with millstones around their necks, they are the least bothered. They know that Christ is powerless against them..I wonder if God has disowned the church founded by him.

Pray to almighty Jesus by sitting at home. If every Christians can follow this for some time, automatically all problems will be solved automatically.
