I came to know that there is not such a engineering called ece (electronics and communication engineering) in abroad. But it's one of the famous degrees in India. Some say ece in India is similar to ee (electronics engineering) in abroad. Is it really true? And will I have any disadvantage if I go for pg in abroad after completing ug in ece in India

I am currently swayed to nanoelectronics and nanophotonics. It seems clewr photons offer advantages that make them necessary for quantum computers. But my knowledge is limited. We shall see. And yes, because Compeng and EE are so similar, some universities said fuck it, and just have an ECE major for undergrad, such as Oregon State University. But either eay, as you said, you can always double major and merely add 1 to 4 classes. Usually.

My dream job is to work on airplanes, to have something to do with them, flying them, designing them, fixing them, welcoming people onto them, cleaning them, fitting them with electronics, anything really!! I've always been enchanted by planes and flying. I'm thinking now, age 48, I want to learn Avionics Technology, cause I can do that without spending a fortune to become a pilot, live in one place, have hands on in building something, use my intelligence, learn it in 2 years, and not get my hands greasy. : D

I want study hard in these but no one is clearing my double what should I do to do those in my future
Like i am now in 12 th class
After i will persue eee or ece
After what should I do ?
Should I opt for masters after masters ? What should I do?
Or after btech should I go for core job in eee or ece ?
Or after mtech should I go for job
Because job is very important for my family because we are financially very weak do studying that much time affect my father income more on me
Ok I know that for mtech and PhD they provide stipend but my father need some financial assistance he i can't see him handling this hectic situation so I need to do job as soon as possible
But my intrest in is core companies or i mentioned above no one offers those in private nor in govt PSUs
What should i do now i am wasting lot of time in thinking of these searching for an answer but no one helps or gives answer .

1. Should I go for core jobs after btech in eee or ece ? Like in Texas instruments/ Cisco/quolcomm/ .............
2 or should I go for mtech in ece ( microcontroller and vlsi ) or eee( power electronics and voltage systems ) and do jobe in core companies after that like same as above but with good package in hand .or

So I do/did all of this in my 25 year EE career thus far. I'm currently an SME in a power discipline. I'm also a P.E. and have an MBA. It's a great & rewarding field.

At first I was going for Computer Science/ Computer Engineering, but things goes sideways after I voiced this out to my parents expecting them to be happy with my choice, I was a fool to even try. In our discussions, they forced me to take Electrical Engineering for numerous reasons, they were blinded by past knowledge that they did not fact check nor validated. I was furious but I have no choice, I respect them and out of fear it might cause future conflicts in the family (which is unavoidable for asian families). I hate this part of my life where I can not take hold for the future that I wanted. If you have some good advices I will really appreciate it.

Its disheartening to hear that a lot of EE’s don’t work hands on as much 😭. I’m a math major that has to pick a co major soon and I want to be able to work hands on maybe like half the job.

I currently go to tech college and I study mechatronics there. I really like the whole mechatronic area, but there is nothing I like more than Electricity and Electronics (here in Brazil we consider these two as Electroelectronics). I really don't know if I should go for Control and Automation Eng or Electrical Eng, as here jobwise the first option isn't really recognized, but the second one is, although, literally anywhere else, Control and Automation Engineering is a great option with lots of job offers (keep in mind that in order for me work abroad, I would need experience), which one do you recommend?
