Swamp Sounds at Night - Frogs, Crickets, Light Rain, Forest Nature Sounds

I used to hear these sounds…but as species disappear it’s becoming less common. Pesticides, herbicides, salt for icy roads, roundup (glyphosate) which is used in mass amounts is wiping these small creatures out amongst other things. Now we look to the internet to hear the natural sounds. It’s just like the bottled water situation-I knew we were in trouble when water showed up in plastic bottles at stores. This world is crazy. When the natural world disappears it will be a domino effect for all species to live on through the internet. Humans have the power to save Earth, but not enough humans give a shit.

Not from the south. I’m from Idaho. But I listen to this shit every night. Makes me want to move down south.

Moving out of the states to my family in europe in a couple years. I'll miss the south and the summer night sounds.

I grew up in southern Illinois down by Kentucky, this is the sound my backyard has every night during the summer, the frogs by the creek and pool, the crickets in the gravel and up on the trees, and the owl far out in the big old hole in the big white oak tree. Those fireflies look like stars on the ground in my memories, like shooting stars ALL over the field. Those memories of my childhood will never die off.❤

I was a young urban city girl and went to visit my Grandmother in Tennessee one summer, this is what I remember except one night a storm came in and it was so crazy, the sounds from all the insects and animals crescendoed when the storm hit. You could hear it coming and going from a distance, the nature sounds increasing and dying away. I keep waiting for someone to recreate those sounds but I’ve never found it.

Mmm, I can just smell the honeysuckles on a warm summers night, under a starlit sky.💫
