There was a game on (cool math games or new grounds) where you could pick up different guns, the environment was destructible and really cool…I really wish I remembered the name.
That game, tank trouble 2, ssf2, DBZ devolved really were the best part of highschool

Honestly I liked Playstation All Stars. I just think they should have made the ring out system the same and maybe had a different dev involved.

I don’t know how hard it would be to play, but when I was growing up there was a Digimon platform fighter and I got my hands on a jump all-stars game that was all in Japanese but cool as hell. I don’t expect those with how I think one was exclusive to the dream cast and the other one was again Japan only, but it would be cool.

Haven’t watched the whole video yet but a very good platform fighter on the ps2 was Onimusha: Blade warriors. It had all the onimusha characters and mega man for some reason.

I was surprised you mentioned the CN game, but not the more recent Multiversus. It was a solid game... for like, the year it was out before shutting off its public build. Instead of just Cartoon Network, there's other Warner Bros series like Game of Thrones and LeBron James. Should be releasing back later though, whenever it'll be ("Early 2024", which is now). Maybe review that when the time comes.

You forgot the worst part of Playstation All Stars Battle Royale... The fact that the game came with on disk day one DLC... That the computer could and would be used against you in random fights, story mode, and more... Which is pretty scummy

I would recommend Slap City, it's the first platform fighter made by Ludosity (The NASB2 devs) and it's really fun

there's a Japanese only platform fighter that has a roster of shonen jump characters, mainly dbz, one piece and naruto. it's actually pretty fun, you just need a translation guide to play it since no one has modded the game into English

Take a look at the Digimon Rumble Arena games. Either the first game for PS1, or the second game on Gamecube/PS2/Xbox. If you ask me, Digimon Rumble Arena 2 would be the best bet.
My friends around that time all had dumb fun on it, and it's a clear Smash Bros ripoff. Regardless, do they hold up today? I'll leave that up to you.
