If you are single, put your stuff in a U-Haul storage, get your CDL through a state program ( if you can), ask for reviews from different people with a trucking job, pick the best one that's good for you. After that try to do at least one year in one company if possible this will look good on your resume. Every week Hussle for miles and save every penny and become a rich homeless driver. I managed to save 20 K last summer and I'm looking on saving another 20k this coming summer too.

Nothing in trucking is free and trust me you want be vacationing when you out here trucking most truckers on the tube is looking for clicks and selling a pipe dream…. And if you think that’s not true just investigate driver retention at these companies and if it was so great drivers would stay

let be honest, almost all job suck. he's young with no kids and no wife, in my eye that a W. he can save that money and use that money for investment or business in the future. nowadays it hard to save money from any job and only trucking job that can do it if youre free from debt or no married.

OTR is good for experience only to go local later. Or you have a fetish for trucks. That’s it.

I drove truck for the last 7 years it’s all lie. It’s horrible job . you don’t make that much money as a company driver. Special right now.

I have degrees in software engineering. Cant find a job since 2019. Thinking about a CDL A. I cant be homess. Pay has gone up from the pandemic. In 2020 you made $1200 a week now I see my brother making $1,800 a week local. Thats almost $7500 a month or 80+k a year. No other jobs are paying this not even im IT 45-55k is. You are however trading meeting someome, making a life, having kids. And enoying your cars and home. You are trading alot. Is it better than retail and factory jobs yes. Will you always have a job? Yes! Will you be homeless and unemployed no! This is a job you pay for student loans, a down payment on a house, business, then bust out. Its not a forever job.

If you’re single and have no children yes trucking can make you rich and retire early if you save money all the time!

You aren’t going to retire making 60 cents per mile. Plus, trucking school wasn’t free, he paid for it, he just didn’t need the money upfront.

You can retire early if you set your mind to it………I did 20 years in the law enforcement field and back in 2021 I was able to retire at 50 with a monthly pension.

It’s so nice waking up and having the whole day to myself………at age 62 I will then take my early social security, life is good!

I drove OTR and I'd get a $1,300 plus paycheck one week and a few hundred the next week. Just wasn't enough once you averaged it all out. If i were a single man with no kids, maybe it would have been ok. Ended up driving in the oil field making a very nice living. I was company both time's. God bless anyone still OTR. It was a good experience, but the money wasn't enough.
