This explains people that have NDEs colors they can't explain and time and space is not there. Also we see only in three dimension where the NDE sees much more. It's our conscience that moves on after we die and that we're just wearing a costume

Ever watch something and think that you're witnessing someone ahead of their time? In 200 years, this might be the first topic in some unknown chapter in a science textbook we simply don't fully understand today.

We do see reality as it is. The” retinal image “ theory of vision has been proved wrong by James Gibson ‘s “ The ecological approach to vision perception “ since 1978. An empirical scientist himself, Gibson was shocked to discover the ‘ retinal image‘ information was not enough to “ see “ the aiming point of a complex motion ( like landing a plane on a ship). Gibson and many others were forced to admit sensations are not directly perceived and perception is not sensation-based. Gibson sees “ vision as a perceptual system, the brain being simply a part of that system “. What we see are the ‘ substantial forms ‘, the invariants in the environment ( the ambient optic ray ). We see reality as it is. Roses are red and violets are blue. Francis Crick ‘s “ the astonishing hypothesis “ admitted “ what we see appears to be located outside, although the neurons that do the seeing are inside the head “. Gibson proved the neurons don’t do the seeing. M.R.Bennett and P.M.S.Hacker’s confirmed in the “ philosophical foundations of neuroscience “ that “ what we see is necessarily located outside our body...it is not the neurons tha see or that do the seeing...” The real world is made of “irreducible complexity “ ( Michael Behe) and “irreducible wholenesses “( Wolfgang Smith). This ideological confusion of modern science comes from the traditions of Democritus , and Paolo Sarpi’s followers Descartes and Galileo who decided the real world was made of res extensae and res cogitans ( ‘things that exist only in our head’). This means what we see is not reality but a retinal image reconstructed by our brains ( what we see is inside our head). This led to our enlightened schizophenia. Wolfgang Smith covers this in the chapter 4 (‘The enigma of visual perception’)of his book“ Science and myth “.

This just seems like a way to re-invent dualism. Yes, it seems intuitive to argue that there is reality that is fundamentally independent of our perceptions, but if you wish to argue that, then that is far as you can go. By definition, it is beyond our perceptions, so there are no actual qualities you can prescribe to it. You cannot even claim it is a "reality" or that it even "exists" because these are concepts we derive from our experiences. There is nothing you can say about it at all, it cannot be ascribed any meaning without contradicting yourself, and that's exactly what the speaker does, contradict himself by trying to ascribe properties to this unobservable reality.

Hmmm, suicide to me is one willing to destroy the hallucination of life. Only thing is, dying might also be a hallucination. Adaption is the key of ‘reality’.

I can happily accept everything discussed here but it only becomes useful when he’s prepared to come back with a better theory, preferably with a mountain of evidence. Thats when my mind will be truly blown. This is just a rejection of the old with no real substantive replacement so it’s of little use. Still a fun watch though. Thanks .

An illusion is like a mirage that is later contradicted by another perception, the mirage does not come into existence, it was merely a false appearance. So the only way reality could be an illusion is if we all cognized another perception that cancels our universal experience that we call reality.

I guess we're improving at perceiving reality AND recognising that our perception of reality is always incorrect, so maybe fitness IS our improvement at recognising that perception is NOT reality, no matter how accurately our perception evolves.

❤️🌼❤️ FALSE :
Pythagorous did not d about the earth being round BUT the Indian sages about 5000+ years had discovered ... Their Varah Avtaar ( A Boat Avataar ) has Earth on his horns which is round and is also mentioned in Vedic texts. Many Indian temples which are 1000+ years old have the Varah Avtaar with round earth on its horns.
Anyways... the west has its own blind eye as usuall to the Indian Rishis ( scientists ).
Facts don't hide too long.
Anyways ... Let's go forward to see what you have to say.. because you are talking sense to what the Indian sages had been doing since mellenia

Also... Our earth being the center was proved wrong by some scientists - FALSE : If you see Indian Vedic texts and temples in the NAVGRAH ( 9 planets ) temples which are built atleast 1200+ years before we can clearly see the SUN at the center and rest of all the planets around it.

Anyways... Let's hear you further ....

Our consciousness exists at the zero point on the number line. That is not in the past or in the future. But the past is a critical part of it. Much more critical than plans or thoughts or worries about the future. Without the past the now is rather meaningless. We constantly delve into the past to make the present meaningful. This is a constant mental activity that we seldom get a pause from. The exhausting reality of living.

First define reality and then identify whatever it is about (whatever you mean by)reality that*makes* it reality(for whoever). what are the criteria for whatever you mean by reality that make it reality?

"Perhaps the universe is a great machine pumping out our consciousness". Somehow that is less outlandish to some scientists than this:

"This present life is even as a swelling wave, or a mirage, or drifting shadows.
…Know thou that the Kingdom [of God] is the real world, and this nether place is only its shadow stretching out. A shadow hath no life of its own; its existence is only a fantasy, and nothing more; it is but images reflected in water, and seeming as pictures to the eye." Abdul Baha (1892-1921)

God is sounding more and more scientific these days.

How I internalised this is…

Seeing what you perceive as the realities of life can hinder you.

This scientist did hundreds of simulations documenting his findings that ultimately “fitness” wins.

Putting it practically. In his definition of fitness ie your goals and natural proclivities.

I’ve internalised his findings as a prompt to stay focused. Using my state to perceive in MY reality the tools/icons to bring about my goals in this interface/desktop.

I like this dude.
