I want someone that will focus on the DL and LB's. If we have an elite run stopping/pass rushing defense, then you don't need to spend capital on top CB's. I saw a stat that the teams with the top pass defenses in the NFL don't tend to do very well when it comes to NFC/AFC championship games, and the Super Bowl.

Answer to beginning question who cares

Tom you should make a video about what the perfect off-season in your eyes would be. free agency, draft, etc

Leonard is high risk, but I think it'd be nice to implement some new schemes and bring in some fresh ideas not recycled schemes from existing defenses.

Sorry Tom but Jim Leonard isn't looking for a head coaching position in college football. He is a Badger for life, the only head coaching job in college football he would want is in Madison. I could see him jumping to the NFL however to coach a team that he grew up cheering on. Another thing that should be noted is that he has very close connections to Mike Pettine and Rex Ryan, in fact one could say that he comes from their coaching tree. I think for the Packers he is their number one option for this position. The transition will be relatively smooth and he will bring in wrinkles to a defense that the players already know, that Mike Pettine for whatever reason was unwilling to attempt.

Chris Harris or Chris Giffen (sp?) to improve the DL would be fantastic; however I suspect Jerry Gray will receive the internal promotion. He know the players and the team will invest in DB most likely in the draft.

Marvin Lewis for his experience could be the right DC.

Jim Leonard woild be my 1st choice, as a former Nfl player, he'll gain that respect in the locker room...

What he's done at Wisconsin, is pretty special!! Imagine if he had Alabama's talent... #2 for me would be Kiffin, i like the fact he worked with Bosa & Buckner in the pass, which is great experience... Harris would be my #3 choice!

Sorry, just to be clear: Matt LeFleur MUST stay! I dont care if the last 2 NFC championships have been a failure but we've gotten there with a 13-3 record both of his rookie seasons. AMAZING.

Chris Harris was a stud for Bears. Given he was surrounded with smart defenseman like Briggs, Urlacher and Tillman. I’d be jealous if you got him and not the Bears.

So, you want to promote a guy who played a part in the defense being as bad as it is? The fact you are calling from a promotion from one of the worst D's in the league tells me not to take you seriously. You are basically calling for Mike Pettine 2.0.

Tom, I love you, but do not take the secondary for granted. Coverage schemes are king in the NFL. Trust me, I'm a Chiefs fan. Pass rush sounds great, but coverage (and more importantly coverage schemes) are so much more important. 2018 Chiefs had the league's best pass rush and couldn't stop anyone. I know you want to focus on what's currently a weakness to get that patched up, but you're making an awful lot of assumptions about the secondary just doing what they do. Don't do it. Get a secondary scheme genius that knows a guy that'll be a great d line coach.
