The 2006 650i is the ULTIMATE Used BMW - Fight me.

Would like to get a convertible 650i but in my country, the dealers will always find a sucker who's willing to pay way too much for them (considering what sort of problems you might run into and have to pay handsomely to fix). Hence, getting one for a reasonable price is not going to happen. Maybe importing is a better option.

I have a 2007 650i that suddenly cut out, lost all power with zero throttle response after the active steering light came on..she's well maintained with low mileage for her year...could it be a fuel pump maybe?

Jay. I currently have a 650i. Loaded, with the Sport package. The V8 sound is lovely. The sunroof is awesome. The best part is the heads up display, which has officially RUINED me....
Allow me to explain
Prior to owning this BMW, I had never once thought about the necessity of a heads up display "A gimmick" I said. But as I've been driving my 650 around, this magnificent feature has officially become a absolute need in the next car I buy. It is so nice to have my speed and cruise information readily available in the windscreen display rather than me having to look down and take my eyes off the road. It has become so natural that when I get in other cars I have a moment where I can't seem to know how fast I'm going. And yes, the sound system is really good!

did this car have spacers? or were the wheels offset so it looks this good? the only thing I don´t like on mine is how far in the winter wheels are as it makes the car look weird.

I had a revised one on a 2009 plate and it was a 635d. Beautiful car and performance was fantastic from the twin turbo engine and to my mind was the perfect compromise being both sporty and good on fuel. The engine note, while not up there with petrol versions, was good too. Unfortunately it was written off, not badly, but beyond economical repair. Miss it all the time. It was the consummate cruiser but would go like stink when you put your foot down, it was the perfect car that was both sports car and GT, and pretty practical too.

Which engine is the best petrol wise ?? I like V8 since I have 2 Land Rover BMW4.4 v8 and Jaguar V8 , very smooth with the BMW4.4 , but more nervous in my case … I am considering to try 650i ? weight / performance / should be better ?

They are fine cars, I've had 4 of them but they are crudely finished if you compare them to F series. It really becomes tiring after some time, the solution is pretend newer models don't exist..

I was looking at all feeds on your cool and exotic looking beautiful black 650i I just can’t find in there the size of your tires? I believe you mentioned they are 19” can you give me the dimensions on wheels and tire sizes? Are they staggered?

Saw one for 5k high mileage but good condition. Was going to get it but then I realised it doesn't have paddle shifters. Read online you can change wheel to have paddles working but my mechanic mate said no.
Genuinely gutted as I had my eyes on that one for a while. What good is a car with auto transmission and no paddles FFS! Absolutely no fun whatsoever. I'm a manual guy but was more than happy going auto with paddles. Auto without is a straight up old granny car 👴👵🏚️

I owned both the older 630i convertible and the more recent 640d xdrive. Amazing machines, but the newer 6 series is a different world comparing to the one you reviewed

Just set the camera to show first person view mainly instead of just showing yourself.

I had an M3 e46 and did some drag raises with 645 and...:) M3 kills the 645 like a fly.

I love coupes in general, but big coupes faves. This BMW 6 series is masterfully good looking. There's nothing wrong with the boot on this car!

A really good, objective review of one of the last big, naturally aspirated V8's. I've recently bought a 650i Convertible ($228,000 AUD new) for $24k - and it's a belter! Great to drive, lovely sound when wound up and it surprises many a hot hatch. My 1991 BMW 850i wouldn't know which way it went! Plus, admiring glances all round and no-one believes that she's now over 15 years old... An amazing car for the money and currently under the collectors radar.

There are some nice ones out there and some total dogs. I remember going to see a manual 650 convertible in Kent and the interior looked like they had kept a velociraptor.
The unavoidable problem is that in the early years the oil change intervals followed the BMW 20,000 mile oil change intervals and now most engines need valve stem seals - an expensive job.

I guess I'm a weirdo because I not only am a fan of this car but I'm a fan of the Porsche 928 as well I'm hoping against hope not to buy another 928 IT was a trial but that was somewhat my fault for lack of due diligence as a young man however as an older man I'm now better educated on what I'd be getting myself into same with this type but if I did pull trigger on either one of them I'd want the manual

A Mint condition E63 can go for $11,000. With this 650i the 4.8 Litre V8 is incredible. Actually it’s way more reliable than the V10 found in the M6. For the most reliability get the 630I

I am a Mercedes guy usually. Own a Stage 2 mapped c class estate. And a little SLK. I just couldn't afford a C63. Hammered versions are silly money. ( I blame all the rap songs lol) but I desperately wanted a german V8 car from this era. I saw your video and am now a proud ( and smug) owner of a 645ci. Its just silk to drive. I agree on the exhaust note thing you mention in your video and am going to delete the two mufflers this weekend. Im a total convert now. This car is super comfy. Pretty much too fast for every road in England if you want to let it go. And looks just great. ( I even like the rear end fat bum it has). Its got too much chrome but that will be dealt with by my tint guy when I go to smoke the windows. Really good video 👍 you inspired me 😆.
