I ask , with huge respect - if you might publish your degrees , specialised qualifications and training in this important subject and furthermore , how many years of clinical practice do you have ? Any papers written , published , acknowledged that we could refer to ? I ask for this for the sake of reassurance . Thank you.
ОтветитьIs there a type of dementia that could affect a person in the emotional center of the brain causing them to be constantly angry and upset for no reason?
ОтветитьThank you, Drs. Sherzai. I don't know how to get my husband help. He's been having significant memory issues for the past several years and his PCP and a neurologist (I insisted he see one), blew off my concerns. My husband doesn't think its anything more than occasional forgetfulness, but its way beyond that. I've had to take over all financial and household functions because his executive function is seriously impaired and it's greatly affected daily life. Memory issues started in his early 60's; he's now 72. For quite a few years, I noticed changes, but he kept saying he was just burned out at work. He worked 70+ hour weeks and was not home much. But after he retired, it became quite clear just how much he was struggling.
How do I find a memory specialist who will do a full work up and give us some answers?
So well explained and great helpful information. Thank you.
ОтветитьCan you speak on the topic of how it occurs following cardiac arrest where a person has been worked on (cpr) for several minutes in a cardiology? Specifically undiagnosed Anoxia following a cardiac event. No neurologic work up and rehabilitation where later someone has mood and cognitive deficits emerging 6 months after the event. This seems to be a topic I do not hear but see. Thank you for your education and sharing your wealth of knowledge.
ОтветитьThanks for this wonderful segment. Your careful organization and targeted delivery of what could easily become overwhelming detail is much appreciated; my notes wrote themselves. Also grateful that you stick to the medical lingo - I always feel more confident engaging my Dad’s doctors when I have the right words instead of watered down descriptions. Also makes further research that much easier - wish I’d come here first!
ОтветитьDoes imaging such as MRI detect this ?
Ответить@The Brain Doc . You said a lot can be done, please tell us
What can be done?
I came here from a vegan Chickpea omelette. I am also doing neuro so it was good to find this channel.
ОтветитьDispressing
ОтветитьImpatiently waiting for husband's Neuro consult after recent MI (hospital notes: MCI suspect vascular dementia but we were NOT told and no action was taken). Told to go back to work 1 week post Cardiac stents with no probe of tentative MCI Dx. Took him to a new primary for cognitive issues in Dec where we were told "he seems fine to me". I moved heaven and earth to get him MRI despite being ignored. Shows white matter plaques and ischemia. Noone seems to care that even MCI at his job could be disastrous. But if he quits work before proper Dx no disability $ to live on. Neuro appt not available until mid Jan 2024. 😞
ОтветитьVery well explained....
