A former professor of mine used to see her walking down the street when he lived in New York. I do wonder why she is the way she is. I know she took Joan role very seriously and was hurt by the backlash but the film was a box office success and her performance was singled out by almost everyone as the highlight. I've seen some interviews where she talks about the film with no hostility or anything (the cnn interview from the 90s. The caller asked what her motivation was and she was very polite about it)

I guess I don't understand why she can't take it on the chin and get that people would revere her as a gay icon or whatever if she wasn't homophobic and was appreciative of the humor about the film.

I once asked Chinatown's assistant director Hawk Koch if the rumor about Dunaway throwing urine at Polanski was true or not. Hawk Koch told me that it's not true. He clarified that Dunaway herself didn't like to take bathroom breaks away from the set, so she would simply urinate in potted plants that were nearby. This is also confirmed in Sam Wasson's book "The Big Goodbye: Chinatown and the Last Years of Hollywood". By the way: When reporter Xan Brooks asked Dunaway about the rumor mentioned in your video, she was so outraged that she refused to dignify the question with a response, and she threw the reporter out of her apartment.
