Beautiful anime with a sweet good ending, though it takes something to get there. No joke it took me 1 month to watch the last 4 episodes as a teenager because I could not stomach more bad things happening to the protagonist.

SUZUME is not mentioned here because it came last year but it's also a best movie with a happy ending ... suggest u all to watch !!

yeah this list is one of those things, you skip to the end to seethe good stuff and skip all the unessesary drama dumped in the middle for "plot" really your name is number one that is not a happy ending its a "wtf where is the actualy ending it just ends with out a proper ending its just ok dun fade to black"

I noticed that a lot of lists involving anime do not include old school anime like Fushigi Yugi and Tenchi Muyo.
I saw most of these anime/movies and the older anime still tops them.
I even felt more for Kenshin in the movies Trust & Betrayal and Reflection than all the ones listed here combined.
Anime fans truly have to go back in time to see what the distant past had.

This really is, overall, a good list. Probably could have left one of the pair of related movies off to find something else, but good list. But so many little mistakes and weird lines. Between Yuasu, Tatami Galaxy, and the fantasy aspects, you miss so much about Night is Short. Shizuku in Whisper of the Heart is obsessed with fairy tales and fantasy, not poetry- that's why she writes a fantasy, also, alwys good to note that Miyazaki only wrote the screenplay, it was the only film by Yoshifumi Kondō- who was supposed to be "the new Ghibli Director," except he died soon after. The corresponding series to Tamako Love Story is Tamako Market, by "KyoAni" or "Kyoto Animation," "by Kyoto"makes it sounds like it was animated by a city. The Anthem of THE Heart. (just that)... A Silent Voice... "Shoko, who was deaf, and had hearing problems."

1 and 2 are masterpieces of anime but I wouldn't call the ending happy from a romance perspective. They are both bittersweet
