she sure looks high on something
ОтветитьIs it even possible to tell if a brain thats never experienced any external stimulus is conscious?
ОтветитьIs she that chick from big bang theory the tv show
ОтветитьShe must have been involved in a tragic fishing accident. We have the technology to remove that fishhook from her nose.
ОтветитьHi Leslie Winkle
Ответитьethicists.. ruining fun and progress since the classical ages. ^^
Ответитьthis is murder
ОтветитьI think her speech is slower.
ОтветитьThis reminds me: R.I.P. Verne Troyer, aka "Mini Me" :(
ОтветитьImplanted mini brains in mice? Do you want rats of Nim? Because that's how you get rats of Nim.
ОтветитьHer: I like mini versions of things
Him pulls down pants
Him: how ya like that
You guys talked about this on one of the later episodes of HFS! When is it coming back?? I neeeeeeeed it!
ОтветитьSo there are studies being done with mini brains? That doesn't sound very smart.
ОтветитьScrew ethics, do you know how many Americans need brains right NOW!!!
I mean literally.
I would think that it would be extremely unethical because in case they do become conscious they'll just be used for scientific experiments
ОтветитьSo freaking cool!
ОтветитьMini testes also belong to the 278 people who disliked this video.
ОтветитьSo about the autism thing does this mean we produce more brain wirings or not I just don’t get it so someone please tell me because I want to know if I’m dumb or not
ОтветитьI'm guessing this technology is similar to growing meat (as food) in a lab, except that this situation is more demanding, since functionality is an issue (as opposed to flavor and nutrition)?
ОтветитьShe looks like the elf kid lol
ОтветитьThis is the pinnacle of science.
ОтветитьI think that the day we can either grow or copy (not clone, they're different) a functioning brain or something close enough to it is when the "soul" or "spirit" question is finally laid down to rest. If we can whip up a brain and that brain develops it's own agency, well I think that about settles it right? If we can whip up brain after brain and they don't really do anything that we'd consider thought, we're missing a piece to the puzzle and we haven't been looking in the right place.
Ответить"Johnny Got His Gun" scenario here maybe??
Ответитьpinky and the brain is going to be real :0
ОтветитьOOO! I can't bear it when you talk in the back of your throat, big turnoff.
ОтветитьI like your pronunciation of microglia better than the one I was taught. (MI"-cro-GLI'-a)
ОтветитьOne of the guys I work with us named Brian. He is pretty smart so I just call him Brain. Also good reference to autism. I have autism and epilepsy and if love to know more brain science of Autism, so a video on Autism and other conditions like it would be amazing. Thanks SciShow.
Ответитьinteresting topic, but that nose pigring distracts waaay too much to enjoy the video -.-
ОтветитьVery interesting!
I particularly like that Olivia describes both the achievements and the challenges. This gives much clearer idea of the edge that research have reached and has the effect to involve the viewer (at least me) much more.
Just as a counter-example: the way many theoretical scientists describe their theories (which often are barely more than an educated guess based on complex math) as something established and almost confirmed is a bit off-putting - not necessarily in very negative way, but simply because they fail to involve the people in their field (or at best say something like: "With high-school math skills you can understand what I'm talking about with just two years of intense studying of high-maths" :)) No wonder String-theory failed to produce anything concrete yet!
Great job Olivia!
Dear Science: Please stop believing that consciousness is somehow created by the brain. It's not. This myth is no longer even debatable.
ОтветитьIs it possible to put all the different tiny organs together and create a tiny homunculus ?
ОтветитьHow can a brain with no body feel or sense much of anything? Most people probably don't think about this, but the concept of self is intrinsically linked to having a body. It may not be possible to have an individual consciousness without a body, or at the very least is would not remotely resemble what we feel as fully formed organisms with bodies.
ОтветитьI had to turn on CC and mute this video because her voice is so annoying. Every sentence ends on a lazy sounding low note... sounds like she wasn't preparing for the phrase construction (stitching sentences together) editing that would follow in the editing phase of production.
Ответитьno such thing as what's amax, or raisex or not, ask any nmw, any be any amax
ОтветитьShe has the coolest voice
ОтветитьSeriously, ethicists are hampering science and are a great hindrance to human progress.
ОтветитьSatanic.
ОтветитьThe way I feel some mornings I might be better off with one of those mini-brains; it might work better than my own.
ОтветитьSo eventually we’re gonna just learn how to recreate ourselves
ОтветитьYou look like younger amy
ОтветитьStop saying we you didnt create it geez makes it seem like you're taking credit for all the scientists hard work
ОтветитьPut it on computer
ОтветитьBrains in vats
ОтветитьIf the mini brain did have blood vessels wouldn’t it need to be connected to a mini heart to pump it
ОтветитьGreat concise presentation, much appreciated!👍
ОтветитьThat's not so great! I grew mini testes as well!
ОтветитьOh wow thats my brain
ОтветитьI'm sure they made a super brain already they are always 100 steps ahead of what they choose to let us know.
ОтветитьUsing 3D printing nanomaterials that'll allow the arrangement of a scaffolding structure to suffice will give way for circulation of oxygenated water/nutrients that will in effect allow neural organoids to grow even LARGER to the capacity of engineering an entire brain.
ОтветитьCool
