This is the American Dreams my parents where chasing 😢
ОтветитьGame OVER. The so-called American dream has been long over never ever to return. What an awful ending😢
ОтветитьComo não amar!
ОтветитьCasas espaçosas e confortáveis no estilo da época.
ОтветитьIs this Queens, New York? The houses look so familiar and Andrew Jackson was a high school I grew up near. It’s now called Campus Magnet
Ответить"Mid Century Home Life for a White Person" - notice how there's not one person of color in any of these? These times weren't as 'wonderful," as they portrayed. The Black experience was quite different; and god forbid you were a mixed couple -- in some states you could be arrested.
Ответить❤❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьWow, stores haven't changed a bit. Veggies stored the same. Deli the same.
ОтветитьAccording to this, I'm living in the 50s.😂❤
ОтветитьI was born in the 80s, but I wish I was born earlier to enjoy these simple times…😊
ОтветитьГрезят по молодости, у кого молодость была счастливой. Счастливые громко вспоминают это. Но несчастные афроамериканцы могут такое сказать?
ОтветитьI think it was Einstein that said " Mans Technology will supersede it's humanity" Now we live in a world of socially awkward, generally self-serving people who can't write without aids such as Gramerly, can't add, subtract, multiply or divide without a calculator, change a tire or lightbulb, or cook a meal at home.
They resist employment, or if they get a job, expect to be paid just for showing up, not the task they were hired to do.
They wanna keep the poor down and increase the gap between us and the rich. They don't want us to own our own homes.
ОтветитьFun fact: you didn’t search this
ОтветитьAh. Back when unions had the power to fight for the working man/woman...until two-faced Ronald Reagan took away that power. Score one for CEOs.
ОтветитьWhat I wouldn't give to have lived this era. When times were simple, your word/handshake was bond and you could walk down the street with little fear.
ОтветитьI've never seen a shirt like that guy had on, I'm surprised to see such a thing in the fifties
ОтветитьHow easy looked life before
ОтветитьOnly 75c a pound for meat?? If people from the 50s saw how much meat is now they’d pass out!! 😂
ОтветитьI was born in 1956 and my life was not like this. I was raised on a ranch and it was a lot of hard work. Yes, life was simpler, but my dad was very abusive and my mom was virtually his slave and prisoner. So was I. There were no days off, no insurance, no going to the doctor, and very little vacation time. we lived from hand to mouth in a house that didn't have any indoor plumbing until my dad dug the water lines and put in a homemade septic system. There were none of the modern imenities that we have now. To tell you the truth, I don't miss it.
ОтветитьWatching this today while also supporting the UAW strike! Solidarity!! Things will get better!!
ОтветитьToday, this is nothing but a long forgotten fairy tale.
ОтветитьSighhhh the slow paced years…
ОтветитьTHIS LAND WILL become SHEOL very SOON. PLEASE KNOW JESUS in your HEART if you would like to ENTER INTO HEAVEN.
ОтветитьLife is so easy for white people as this video clearly lays out.
ОтветитьPeople were happier. Now no one talks or cares about anyone.
ОтветитьNOW young ladies are twerking in the streets and wearing pajama pants to the grocery store
ОтветитьThis was the true America the true history now the days we live in is not America anymore there destroying it they are destroying Gods ways and now communisium and control and evil is over taking America such an evil swooping in
ОтветитьIn those days you could afford a house, a car(or two), and two kids(sending them to college) and health insurance. On ONE job households. I make “3 1/2”x the national minimum wage. And can’t afford any of that. I have to buy used beaters, live in an apartment, can’t afford to get my self checked out at the doctors, and am relying on the military or my son’s athletic ability and academic discipline to get him to university. I’m a conservative, but I DO understand this generation wanting socialism. Socialism never works, but I do get their fascination with it.
ОтветитьThe economy was so strong that even though pay was very, very low - $8,000 annual salary was very comfortably middle class:
a new home sold for $10,000 (even as late as 1968, a new home could be purchased for under $30,000)
In the 1950s, American Families ( black and white) made heroic efforts to stay together because the Church was heroic in supporting family unity. Most people were living Christian lives.
Neighborhoods were divided by culture as much as color: (Italians did not usually live among Germans...Poles did not live in Japanese neighborhoods). Segregation did NOT destroy community integrity.
Corporations ....were not dedicated to selling poisoned foods.
Neither labor unions ...NOR law enforcement
were totally dominated by powerful Freemasonic criminals.
It was not an easier era to live in ...
but it was a healthier one both physically and spiritually.
I was born in 2015
ОтветитьHe forgot to mention the beatings with the belt.
ОтветитьGreat Life.
ОтветитьIronically unions have made most products and many services unaffordable to poor folks. New York and California have outrageously high costs of living thanks to the never satisfied union scams that run those states. The business managers that are supposed to have an adversarial relationship with management are really in bed with them. I was IATSE Local 478 for ten years.
ОтветитьIt was great to have the parents i had also but today's frequencies r really a fear on the radio n t v for children of every age the discrimination is unneeded from many networks GOD PLEASE HELP US ALL NOT TO BE ABUSED FROM PROPAGANDA TO DISCRIMINATION OF INFORMATION GOD KNOWS ALL OUR LIVES NO MATTER HOW MUCH WE TRY THERE R MANY WILL GO OUT OF THE WAY TO MAKE SHURE SUCCESS IS NOT GOING TO BE THERE THROUGH AUTOMATION N GREED GOD BLESS AMERICA N THE REST OF HUMANITY AMEN
ОтветитьThis PSA movie brought to you subconsciously by the UAW. United Auto Workers Union!
ОтветитьUAW/union BS film I was born in 52 things were "different". The KKK, gay bashing whites only (in Indiana too) oh yea the "good'ol days" what bs
ОтветитьAll those people playing cards are under 30 😆
ОтветитьWhy did people in the 50s make so many videos about mundane stuff? Like what was the reason for this video during the time it was made? Did people need to be told how to live??
ОтветитьWhat the hell happened? I know, for the need of more tax money. Government convinced woman to get a career. That work as a stay at home Mom was beneath her. Not to have children until later in life if at all. School became a place to brainwash our kids. The morals of people became that of alley cats. Men became lazy and lost honor in Country and family. Leading to welfare and an undisciplined society. Thank you Gloria Steinem and that crew of women who had rich husbands who would support their equal rights madness. The loss of the belief in God. No prayer in schools and political correctness. Bet that neighborhood is now a ghetto. O I'm just saying!
ОтветитьImagine the world without drug and alcohol abuse. Without depression, anxiety and corruption from the government. What might the world look like?
ОтветитьAhhh, back when is white people were happy and could be as racists as we wanted , life was good. Only trump can make these days come back , that’s why us racists love trump .
ОтветитьIt looks pretty good.
Feminism is ugly women getting revenge on good looking girl's husbands for rejecting them.
I remember my parents telling me. That back then.
If you wanted to borrow money.
You had to prove to the bank that you didn't need it.
CS188 brought me here
ОтветитьAmerica at best.
ОтветитьAh yes, the 1950s. The last Decade where it was Okay to Drunkenly Beat Your Wife for Either Burning Dinner or Forgetting to Cook dinner after you had a long business meeting at the Office.
ОтветитьImagine the nostalgia videos 50-60 years from now.
ОтветитьEveryone in America in the '50s was white, according to this film.
Ответить"...and that's how i got on this ledge. Goodbye, cruel world!"
Ответить
