Google maps could put their user to dangerous routes. I used this app before but eventually it almost got me into troubled routes.

Is there a way to know how old is the satellite image of a street when we view it on Google Map?

I love geography, I love maps google maps is amazing. The only place I do not use it is in the Himalayas as sometimes the wrong turn, at those heights can be the last. As for privacy I am usually headed to my local so it's no big revelation 🍺😂

Maps use to be domain of Kings and Nobles. Now it is available to anyone with an easy swipe and is accurate to the minute.

We need to appreciate it rather than let authorities add more restriction to it.

Yes, Google gets our data. But, what we get is free navigation and maps for all. Though Google was not the first Navigation/maps platform, it has revolutionized, how we travel.
Hope, they wont start charging for Maps.

If google maps is for the world...why is it that countries are not to scale. The global south is still shrinked to make the global north nations look bigger.
It is not for everyone...if it cannot accomodate everyone and reflect real world data.
It is merely a tool of spreading neo-colonialism and imperialism by feigning aid but exalting Western nations to god like statuses...so that other nations (3rd World) can feel inferior.
Speaking as a Kenyan-African...we need our own maps system or a google maps that also represents our interests.
We have been fooled for long enough...its time to wake up.

Everybody wants this new city exploration experience, like it would be first time login in the Thunder bluff. This map is just as Nudle Maps, so it's almost known to any first year student. I just thought standing on the stage - ghost busters invented that seismometer with Sean Boswell help and there should be something your municipality owes you so you don't just GTA that car you see through the lenses. There are few possible routes, but taxi is not so popular here to have one more alternative. I remember that update when buildings was rendered in 3D, but not everywhere. You almost forgot how you were planing that route home work since 2006 or 2010 and now I don't see that change to tell everybody - I assume you alright and all the 2023 students have not replaced you in job offers.

Lol mass surveillance

I won't mind loosing privacy to google specifically because unless we stop using tech we can't avoid google and
anyway , you can't say google is using our data so I won't use google maps or gmail or contacts or photos or any and then go to facebook and instagram doing doom scrolling
rather I respect the innovation they contribute to the world with there mind blowing products
Let's hope they are trying there best to protect our data

First time using goggle map. I was astonished how detailed and reliable it can be.

Maps became my best friend as a New Yorker back in 2011-2012 going to HS and track meets. I saw the slow popularity of using such tool

While I don't agree with Google's privacy practices in general, Maps is the only product I am ok with giving my location and privacy details because it's so helpful and it gives me so much in return. Especially if you move to a new country and you have no idea about places, locations, streets where you need to go. I also try to contribute when Google asks me about locations I've been to or visited. It's made life so much easier and makes me feel like not being lost in a new country.
