I'm still learning, but one thing about options that interests me that was not mentioned is that options I think are SIPC insured, where futures are not, is this correct? Maybe that doesn't matter much. Thank you!

Options (sell put/call) for monthly passive income. Day Trading Stocks (long/short) for weekly income. Charting/trading experience is very important. Both work for me consistently well.

The truth is that they are killing your options. Its not a free market trading. It’s amazing that some people think that the options are a part of the nature. It’s a man made instrument that the maker has a lot of power to manipulate it at his will to collect your money. It’s not a government issued instrument but bunch 0f motherfokimg crooks are behind it and SEC m0fos don’t do a thing about it.
It’s a zero sum game. Your pocket or theirs. This is how they are doing it now. They are killing the time value. I am not talking about the options on any stock but the S&P futures.
What does it mean that they are killing it, it means the money you paid for the option, no matter what the outcome, will get killed in the value. They send it to one way let’s say down 50 points then it attracts a lot of buyers of puts and calls. Because either it goes down or up. First they keep it around down 50 for a while then they put a few head fakes in it, as if it’s going back up but then drop it back to 50 making sure they convince the holder who is already losing 30% “maybe this is not going anywhere, but let me stick around another hour or so” but that’s exactly what they do they keep it around down 50 another hour or so then a little move towards up them keep it there again In all these little movements you are losing the value, your hard earned money. Where is it going ? Into the pockets of the mofos that write the options, market makers, funds, investment banks etc. then the mkt starts coming back but never decisively, it goes up two points then quickly 1.5 back then sits there. At the end even if you were right and kept your options you will make the minimal. But if you made any minimal, there are millions that lost the max.
SEC m0fos who deserve to get the capital punishment went after a congress woman who sold one million$ of her assets because she heard Covid is coming lmao 🤣. These m0foking syndicates that are foking with the options make 100s of billions every single day cheating the public. Right now doing the options is like throwing a way your bankroll and your savings.
I have been trading both options on SP futures and futures itself for years. Futures can’t damage you with the time value.

Good luck with futures. You forgot mention that futures have different margin for overnight hours and regular trading hours also during this overnight hours broker can require double margin and much more, especially during volatile days. They are faster then options. Its really different world then options. I think more traders are likely jump from futures to options and not vise versa.

I’ve been trading options on Think or swim for over 2 years but I can not get TD to approve me for futures. How do you get them to aprove you? I’ve traded futures on Ninja trader for a 90 day trial…. I loved it but I would like to be able to stay in one platform on Think or Swim.

As long as you control your position size and set good stops you’ll be good. I like being able to buy options and not have to worry about getting margin called. Ive done both but prefer options. Good luck!

So basically what you're saying is that options are doable and you was successful trading options but you just switched to futures because it's alot easier? But people who don't mind working a little harder can just stick with options?

Options have no edge and were designed simply to hedge risk. People use them tp directional trade which DOES NOT WORK!
