How did that 1981 Cadillac work or the V8 V4 and V6 mode
ОтветитьI think a lot of the problems with the cylinder deactivation were caused by poor maintenance. Not changing the oil at regular intervals can cause sludge to build up and cause the lifters to not work correctly, destroying them and the camshafts in the process. Some of my friends with those trucks have well over 200,000 miles on them and never had problems with the cylinder deactivation and this may be because they maintain their cars religiously. I don’t think it was a perfect system and I think GM did some things to improve it in the newer engines, as far as I know. I don’t hear about the problems it nearly as much as I used to, but I don’t know for sure.
ОтветитьSo when I said to my step Mom that the Master 6 has a V4 I wasn’t entirely wrong
ОтветитьOhhh, ok so the piston still moves up and down then? I always thought something was done to the cam to allow 4 cylinders to completely stop moving. I have a 5.3L v8 Tahoe with AFM and was wondering about this. Also I can't seem to find an answer about whether this can affect the life and the engine vs. a normal engine. Whether the lifters wear out faster etc. Any info would be appreciated.
ОтветитьThis is such a bad idea in terms of reliability lmao, poor lifters.
ОтветитьIn the animation the valves never open to allow air in or out. Seems odd
ОтветитьWhat year did this eco motor come out for chevies??
ОтветитьDo the 2500s & 3500s deactivate to 4 cylinders?
ОтветитьOver 80 grand miles on my 2015 and I rod the piss out of it and beat on it still strong as ever with zero problems truck is to use good oil and change it regularly I also use good oil filters acdelco is my go to and yes fram filters are garbage
ОтветитьThe on cylinder at the end of the video is the off one and vice versa
ОтветитьSo far I see a lot of complaining... My 2012 Chevy Silverado never gave me a problem... Then again I take care of my Chevy truck... I don't floor the gas pedal I don't treat my truck like it's a quarter mile drag racer... Everybody that likes to race around I bet you anything you never change the oil you never treat your truck right and when it breaks down of course it's the trucks problem never the driver I have a 120,000 miles on my Chevy motor and it's a strong as ever no problems because I take care of my truck
ОтветитьWhat the fuck are you guys talking about. This is the most innovative thing I've ever seen. Its badass way to save on gas. You say you need to change your oil for this to work. No shit. You need to change your oil on any engine for it to work. Yall are just lazy and going without a necessity is what costed you your engine. Its a user error completely your own fault. Maybe take car of your car and it would last longer. That's just a guess. Don't hate the player hate the game.
ОтветитьWouldn't it be cheaper and more easy to just cut fuel and spark? 🤔
ОтветитьImma find the engineer of this stupid design and beat them up!!!
ОтветитьHow chevy didn't realize people don't change oil. I'd still avoid this cylinder deactivation tho, people are mad about it, not like the song mad about you either
ОтветитьMotor blew up on 08 Chevy Avalanche with 53,000 miles way to go GM never again.
ОтветитьWow, what kind of shit explanation and s this?
ОтветитьTime for an EcoBoost. My silverado afm lifters collapsed at 39k stranding me. Way to go GM. You created the most expensive boat anchor on the planet
ОтветитьActive ticky lifter
Ответитьworst design ever.
ОтветитьThis pisses me off.will not buy another chevy because of this stupid bullshit.
ОтветитьHow does the increase in friction and rotational mass and inertia due to 4 dead cylinders not impede the motor output?
Let alone Compression and Vacuum pressures on a now sealed cylinder due to inoperable valves?
