Dig down 2 feet around the outside and install 1/4" square mesh to keep critters from going under the deck.
ОтветитьBest shed series/episodes out there
ОтветитьSafety glasses when cutting plywood or OSB.
Pull a lil piece out your eye b4 you disagree.
Dont stand behind saw.
Pull that blade out your leg from it kicking back b4 you clown me.
Other than that, i picked up several tips. Thanks!
Love the videos. I am always going back and watching again, guess I am getting up the nerve to do my own project. A question, just seeing the layout you show for the shed, seems the fence is way close at the corners. I am trying to reduce my maintenance time in my yard (getting a mower in there, etc), so I suppose I can just position mine farther away, or not angled in the corner of the yard? Thanks for the help.
ОтветитьAre you concerned with frost heaving?
ОтветитьWe put our joist hangers on the wood on saw stools lying on the flat .they also hang the joist when nailing together.Just a tip .
ОтветитьJeff, you need to get your heart checked. Your breathing is very strained and that is not a good sign! Nice video!
ОтветитьCant tell if son or apprentice
ОтветитьCan I build a 24'x32' cabin foundation using patio blocks for 6x6 post and pressure treated 6x6? If so how far apart should I space them?
ОтветитьUr amazing I love ur patience and Projects
ОтветитьIs it OK not to put any support in the center to support the floor structure? I'm looking to build a 8x10 shed doing all the research I can possible 😊
Ответитьyour in the same boat as im in .. i need left handed circular saw so i can see the blade cutting on the line while using my right hand utilizing the saw
ОтветитьGreat video but how do you secure the outside joist to the 4x4so the structure wont move fall etc.
ОтветитьYou mention over building your structures, to help them last longer I'm kind of the same way. One thing is I pay attention to specific details and one you overlooked that I do for a shed or deck is to remove the sod from under the deck area. You mentioned moisture from ground contact but there is also moisture that will dwell under the building just from the ground below it. Like if you park a car on the grass and leave it there for a few years it will be completely destroyed with rust under it. If you park the same car on top of a tarp on the grass the car will be considerably better condition after those same years. Clear the sod under the shed down to the hardpack and then lay some plastic sheeting and cover it with sand. This will eliminate the ground moisture from affecting the underside of your structure. This applies for pressure treated lumber as well because even pressure treated will last longer in a better environment and so will any nails and screws.
Ответить15 yrs Bro Love you!
Ответитьare the blocks you used similar to tuff blocks?
ОтветитьSay what you will, but you should have doubled up on the structure by adding an additional 4 ground-points in the middle of each side, instead of just the corners.
ОтветитьCamo blocks. 100 bucks a pop? I'll pass thanks.😊
ОтветитьAre you using anything else to attach the deck to those 4x4 besides a piece of scrap?
ОтветитьJeff is jack of all trades.! LOL He can paint and he can build shed foundation. He pulled nails out of his pocket!!!
So awesome! Respect the hustling@!
so are you going to pour concrete over those square holders or is it just resting on the 4x4 posts?
ОтветитьShould I use 2x6 or 4x4 for a 10' x 12'
ОтветитьLet's see if he mentions the crown of the wood
ОтветитьI wanted to like this but my area is subject to high wind and heavy rain and you do not want a ton worth of wood shed "floating" near your house.
Ответитьplease take a little bit more time to show processes and be more detail you shown 4 camo blocks and later i noticed you had one more camo block in the middle of the 16 feet board.
ОтветитьCarries 1,800 pounds. That's like 3 Americans.
ОтветитьMy yard is sloped info on this type of build ?
ОтветитьHe still should have removed all the grass from under the structure and laid out some black no grow cloth and some gravel out an inch or two past the borders of the base.
ОтветитьIt's sad that you cant build what you want seriously 1 inch longer and you have to tare it down.
ОтветитьMoving to the next video in this series there is a center crossbeam with one would assume two additional" supports" for a minimum of six(6) while this video shows four(4). How did you manage that? Overkill didn't work?
ОтветитьSafety squints 😌
ОтветитьGot the Hollywood sniffles today !? 😎
ОтветитьIs that special paint to mark your spots
ОтветитьNice dufus move. Pay attention to where knots are near the end when trimming boards. You trimmed your very first board and moved the not right to the area where nailing and screwwing will be difficult. Decided that you are not worth the watch.
ОтветитьAre there plans for this available anywhere?
ОтветитьUse PL adhesive and screws for floor sheeting
ОтветитьThank you for the measure once tip. That is excellent.
ОтветитьIf you would wear a toolbelt or a nail pouch, you would be way more efficient. It drives me crazy when I see somebody have to stop and get a tool or a pencil or a speed square. You waste half your time going after stuff you should have strapped on you. Otherwise good video.
Ответитьor just stick some blocks and shingles under the supports to level up, idk....sheesh
Ответить"no wicking of moisture" until it settles.
ОтветитьBless you and Ms. Snow You both are beautiful
ОтветитьDid he calculate the load? At 1,800 lbs capacity x4 he can only load the blocks with 7,200lbs. Dead weight is generally 10lbs psf (1,600lbs for a 10x16) and you need to multiply that by 2 since there’s a roof (3,200). Idk what the live load is Canada for floor or for the roof but in the U.S. it’s 40lbs psf for the floor which would already fail the structure, nvm the roof load…
ОтветитьWhat is an "impact driver" good for? I never face a situation where a cordless srewdriver does NOT accomplish the job perfectly.
Ответитьmatt have learned of things but i don"t think he enjoy this clown
ОтветитьDoesn't the structural base need to be deeper? Love your videos but just wondering.
ОтветитьI'm sorry but I can't trust any builder who says " we're roughly square" and then just starts screwing! I literally can't tell you how many jacked up structures I've seen all because the framers didn't properly square things in the very beginning 💯
