My feeling is that the Russian objective is to occupy certain regions of Ukraine east of the Dnieper and also to basically turn Ukraine into a landlocked nation by eventually occupying or neutralising its Black Sea ports. I read an assessment somewhere too that suggested Russia’s principal strategic aim is to destabilise the security architecture of NATO. I can’t believe their strategic objective is to occupy Ukraine and then threaten NATO border states. The smartest thing Russia has done is to help migrants get to Europe. No one wants to deal with it, or even talk about it honestly, but immigrants are going to be the cause of WW3.
