This is still a bit ridiculous to me given the average charges of vandalism worldwide were less than 10 years with parole and sometimes with community services. Even if some people argue this travel ban, extended sentencing for Johnny Somali, and this 20-30 years in prison is mostly cultural zeitgeist due to Somali's footage of vandalism of comfort women statue, that's still a weak argument because in the UK 2 Just Stop oil members vandalized Stonehenge, a cultural icon for the UK. Phoebe Plummer was sentenced to 2 years to jail, and Anna Holland was sentenced to 20 months in jail. It's not just USA but even in UK and other EU countries and many other countries on average, vandalism charges tend to be lighter. So this case with Johnny Somali it's a special case which South Korea is trying to make an example of Johnny Somali and severely charge him, which a defense lawyer can argue back as abuse of power by the system.
ОтветитьThe prosecutors gonna throw the book on him. 😂
ОтветитьHe’s going to pull the poor skinny boy, I didn’t know what I was doing, I look like juvenile pathetic loser card. He’s gonna cry and plead.
ОтветитьSomali is going to play dumb. They need to also get his accomplice
ОтветитьIs Somali’s accomplice also charged, and has a bounty?
ОтветитьI still think.he should get a free trip to north korea.
ОтветитьWell there's no way in hell he's going to get out anyway South Korea is recently under martial law and we don't know when it's going to end.
Ответить조니소말리 북한 첩보원(간첩)인듯 신고해서 포상금 탑시다.
ОтветитьIf he gets deported or only one year he will go back to doing the exact thing again and it will make South Korea look weak.
He needs to get 10 years minimum to orove a point, to discourage anyone copying this behaviour and too be honest no one cares if he gets a large term because he is a serial offender with no conscience.
You and a hundred other Tubers are really milking this Somali thing !
ОтветитьI think they could just punish him by keeping him off the Internet. That would be worse for him than jail on life.
ОтветитьPeople are amazed that Korea has a 90% conviction rate and Japan a 99.9% (Yes!!!!). These countries, particularily Japan, hate the legal system. They try to solve everything outside the courts. So by the time you go to the court, they have a montain of evidence.
A animal like this Johny Somali barely exists amongst the Japanese, so the system cannot cope with it easily. The Yakusa can. (Japanese Mafia)
This is not like the British-style system.
He is young and stupid. This will, hopefully, teach him that actions have consequences.
ОтветитьFor those unaware, Korea is a peninsula, and the only way out is boat/plane....or north korea.
Also curious if anyone knows, Im aware felon status makes life much harder in the US, certains jobs wont hire and you cant rent certain places, etc. What about criminals from abroad? A citizen like Johnny who becomes a convicted criminal and eventually returns here to the US, does that follow him here?
He was crying about only having a Quran to read in Japanese jail 😂 literally crying about it. What books will be allowed on the cabbage farm?
ОтветитьKeep him and please Johnny don’t came home man,you killing all of us man.
ОтветитьAll we can hope for is that the US government don't decide intervene with Ramsey's case(s).
ОтветитьI'm sorry but this is a developed nation? No wonder Johnny Somali keeps getting away with it. They keep letting him.
ОтветитьField trip to the trial? Pack a brown bag baby!
ОтветитьWell is it not time for people to realize that when visiting another country, that there rules there laws apply to you the tourist / visitor. Cultures around the world are different so just show respect to the people in the country you visit & all will be well.
I have visited 15 countres around the world & have never had any problem at all, the I have seen people get in a lot of trouble because they do not show respect to where they are & to the people & the country they are visiting !
Why does my comment keep getting censored?
I posted in support of Korea and said nothing inappropriate...
And you really could have cut this down by about 90%. I don't think you realize how much you repeated yourself.
ОтветитьRegarding prosecutors trying to aggravate crimes, I think a cursory look at the news in the west, shows that prosecutors in the west do exactly the same thing. This is how the Ltd to South Korea.
ОтветитьCould not be happening to a more deserving person. Aside from pranking childishly repugnant, you have to be in all of the stupid is someone who does not understand the cultural offence what he did
I am also thinking that the normal procedures outlined here for making complaints and obtain evidence being bypassed due to instructions from far above. SK everybody knows very top down in its management. The entire industrial landscape and structure where a close group is Keith families ended up controlling virtually all industry was created by unofficial government decree. No doubt this halfwit who has offended arguably the most painful social preoccupation in South Korea, has been the subject of very high-level discussions on the matter
Johnny better pray he don't drop the soap he looks like one of them pretty boys that always is the first to be targeted on the first day in prison
ОтветитьI hope he rots in jail. This piece of crap should not ever be free again.
ОтветитьThis is incredibly repetitive repetitive. Why are you saying everything twice? Saying everything twice?
We heard it from the first time, meaning that the time that first heard it was first time it was said.
He is stupidly behave and he is not Somali, he is Ethopian by brith
ОтветитьI think that the public gallery will be filled with Korean people.
You will need luck in getting a seat.
SOUTH Korea should let him travel...to NORTH Korea
ОтветитьWhy they had such an easy time with getting a case together on that droolie is that he streamed everything he did, he literally just videoed and uploaded all the evidence they needed.
ОтветитьI don't think Korea will jail him. If something happens to him it would look bad on them. They will deport him and maybe make a life long ban. However, when he returns to the states he will need to watch his back.
ОтветитьWhy is everyone talking about this hood rabbit? Dude wanted fame...and yall are giving the rabbit fame. By talking about dude😅
Ответить너무 재미있으세요! 😂 (조니 수영해서 중국으로 도망가자!ㅋㅋㅋㅋ)
ОтветитьI only want to hear that something really really really bad has happened to him. If they don't convict and put him in jail for at least 5 years, I will boycott everything Korean.
Ответитьim glad this self proclaimed sociopath is getting what he deserves. i hope he never gets to come back to america. if you know what i mean
ОтветитьI try not to watch celebrity drama or schadenfreude videos, but this is informative and interesting. Thanks for doing some research. (edit:typo)
ОтветитьCan he be just deported to the North?
Ответитьfor #2, they literally had everything they needed for evidence already. they didnt have to investigate much.
ОтветитьHas there been an official diagnosis / or legal resolution?
ОтветитьIt does sound like you have no idea what you're talking about
ОтветитьThere are so many videos of ybm being jerks in the tolerant Asian nations and using their skin privileges to get away with it. It embarrasses me because many are Americans and I wish Japan and Korea would make some examples.
ОтветитьYour channel name is Legal Mindset; your intro mentioned differences between K and Am legal system, yet your presentation seemed to focus on his getting unpleasant and severe punishments. It’s like you lost your way.
ОтветитьI hereby nominate Mr. Somali as Korea's newest cabbage farmer!
ОтветитьThose dangling prepositions!
ОтветитьThere’s a few reasons why not keeping him in jail will work in Korea while it certainly wouldn’t work in the USA (or Europe or somewhere else.)
While other countries are big, you can slip away in the crowd, get past border patrol and sneak into another country, etc… You can’t really do that in Korea, at least not easily. It’s at the end of a peninsula, you got two directions to flee:
1) out to sea by boat or plane, but he doesn’t have a passport so unless he can find and convince smugglers to help him he’s stuck there.
2) escape through North Korea. … yeah, that didn’t work out for the last black guy to try that, so I wouldn’t recommend it.
I suppose he could escape to the countryside, but he’s still an obnoxious black guy in Korea, I think they’d find him quickly.
He won't run out of money.
