That was beautiful suture work!!!
ОтветитьI actually had this piriformis pain so bad. My right hip in painful. I seen a doctor so many times and docs but i just diagnosed as herniated disc, non suspect about piriformis. I had disc pldd surgery month ago. The funny is, surgeon find out I actually had a piriformis syndrome cuz i cant lay down to start surgery. Now my herniated disc is gone but piriformis pain just came soo bad now. I dreamed to be able to sit on chair and normally. I asked my surgeon to follow up my situation. Today i got steroids injections and given lot of painkillers. Sometimes I just hope i can get this surgery done cuz I can’t live like this anymore
ОтветитьJust work out it goes away
ОтветитьI’m suffering with this pain, however I’ve reached out to providers at PRI Institute, Postural Restoration Institute, I highly recommend them, my pain was 100, now is much much less. Believe in yourself and do not give up! And remember gym/yoga/Pilates are your BFF forever.
ОтветитьWild to see this surgery on video. 😊
ОтветитьCan i get more information on how i could see you for surgery doctor
ОтветитьI have this. And GTS. This journey has been long and painful but I’m hopeful to schedule surgery! Watching this and I’m thinking please yes operate and release it! You know you have pain when you are wanting this surgery while watching. Hope everyone gets the relief they deserve from this 💕💕
ОтветитьProbably gonna have this surgery in France at the end of the year. It's weird but it's nice to see this is video. It feels real. 😅 I know a person that can seat normally again after a few years of fight, thanks to this surgery. I'm 27 and this is so bad 😔
ОтветитьIs this covered my medical insurance ?
ОтветитьDr Meislin, thank you for such a wonderful video. My question is: was the piriformis left loose? Or was the tendon reattached somehow?
Blessings!
What happens after the tendon is severed? Surely some form of movement is no longer performable right?
ОтветитьSo the general idea here regarding the piriformis is to sever the tendon from the greater trochanter and then leave the it as is, totally non-functioning?
ОтветитьFantastic.
ОтветитьGuys what about the muscle he cut,,, I mean we don't need it at all, he even left it there
ОтветитьWhat exactly happens to the piriformis muscle after its tendon gets cut off and cauterized to release the nerve from pressure? Is it just left "hanging" inside the buttocks, and does the tendon disconnection affect any movement of the hip or make you unable to flex your buttcheeks?
ОтветитьWhen the muscle tendon was cut I wished it was my muscle. My God the relief. That muscle was tight!!
ОтветитьIts quite an involved op....iv got fibromyalgia greater trocanter pain and piriformis pain...but i dont think this is for me
Ответитьwhen you cut a tendon like that , wont it "try" and attach or heal to anything it can, causing future issues? I mean having a muscle that is doing nothing but flopping inside there, I mean how can this be safe, or suitable? My feeling is that it WILL attach to something causing huge unknown issues down the road... Thoughts?
ОтветитьI was diagnosed in 1998 with traumatic injury piriformis syndrome poor management and lack of knowledge at the time by virtually everyone who was treating me as they said it was not a recognised condition in the 90s well it has ruined my life and career I am due to have extensive MRi scans next month in London but it was was finally identified by a physio therapist from Slovakia i saw in 2016 I suffer with PTSD and have done since my accident and again not diagnosed until 2019 it is an awful condition no relief at all I am 100% certain I need this type of surgery and should of had it done when I was younger fitter and healthier .are there any consultants in the UK that can do what you have achieved ?
Ответитьhow long would the botox injection last? Is this like a 2x a year thing? @newyorkorth.
Ответитьi need someone, please, that will do this surgery on my piriformis. it has been abused over the years by excessive cycling on a single speed bicycling. this has been going on for over 12 years.
i tried stretching, injections, MRIs, x-rays, PT and simple rest. rest has limited success, but each new episode of the syndrome is getting more painful and less likely ever to go away completely.
i've experienced piriformis muscle pain, pain at both of its tendons, femur and sacrum, and similar severity of sciatic pain. i'm certain the muscle has been damaged by repeated spasms and trauma. and most likely contains significant amounts of scar tissue. it is easily irritated and adhesions form between the muscle and the sciatic nerve and the sciatic canal. that involve excruciating pain when the leg is moved after just several hours of complete rest. not to mention overnight (sleeping)
at this time i am on two daily doses of Norco (10mg). it will allow me to move with some difficulty. the pain is in the left leg only and i've never had any back pain. all the pain is at or below the piriformis muscle.
i live in the east bay area of central coast california. there doesn't seem to be ANY surgeon that does this type of open (cut the muscle in half) surgery around here. i'll travel (and have traveled to nashville) to have it done, but i don't want to go through yet another MRI, x-rays, injections, physical therapy (and take the requisite 6 months) to have them eventually admit that they don't even do open surgery such as described in this video.
on a lighter note...
i can see why surgeons don't enjoy working on patients with excessive fat. most likely a particularly onerous task in this surgery inasmuch as there is often much of it there.
if and when i can finally get the surgery done, i'll take pains to lose as much fat as possible pre-operation. ;)
I've had back pain radiating to my right leg and thanks to "the most famous PT's on the internet", I was able to tell that I wasn't having back-related sciatica. Stretching my right buttock really made a difference, it's night and day. BUT, the piriformis still is tight after a week, it's not as bad as before and I can walk now without pain but I get a bit frustrated thinking that maybe, because of my anatomy, I would have to do the stretching for the rest of my life.
ОтветитьI just discovered that I’m probably suffering from this the past 10 years. Does a specific hip MRI help show I’m dealing with this? I’d really like someone locally to help perform this surgery for my right hip if possible
ОтветитьHey i don't know if i actually have this syndrome but somehow i think i have they did x ray on my spine but i didn't have a broken disc do u think i actually have
ОтветитьI am in Central NJ, Who would you recommend I see in my area? RWJ or St Peters or JFK?
ОтветитьI think I will just continue my yoga routine
ОтветитьWhat a pain in the butt.
ОтветитьAmazing how they are so confident and can tell what anatomical part it is in the midst of all that flesh. I’d probably cut a nerve or something and ruin that persons life
ОтветитьThis makes me nervous anxious and sad
ОтветитьHow many days later can i walk after this surgery?
ОтветитьWow, my doctor straight decided to do surgery, instead of considering other conventional medication first.
ОтветитьI need this soooo bad !
Ответитьyes! Finally found a place to hide my lunchables
Ответитьshocking that the released muscle/tendon would be left like that vs taking it all.
ОтветитьNah I can't afford this I'm just screwed
ОтветитьI really need this, too?
Can I contact you please?
I'm suffering..
Thank you very much for the information , I have finished my mri scan but now waiting a result.
Ответитьhow long can the patient walk after the procedure?
(using the Portuguese x English translator)
Gnarly. Don’t wanna have to do this lol.
ОтветитьWhat is the long term benefits of this??
ОтветитьVery Intersting
ОтветитьI need this
ОтветитьI’m scared I might need surgery it hurts so much...
Ответитьoh f**k this! forget it. I rather suffer with it for life.
ОтветитьWhat is the length of follow-up with the eight patients you have done? What is the length of follow-up with the patient in this video?
ОтветитьI need this
