There are many choices, but the obvious choice continues to be the Steam Deck. Time will tell how Windows 11 changes to accommodate handheld PCs, but right now SteamOS is a massive selling point.

I love GPD and the Lenovo hell all of em but they’ll sadly never be as successful as the steam deck. The steam decks base lcd model retails for 350 right now🤦the best OLED option retails for less than a lot of these and no it’s not a huge performance difference because the steam deck is so optimized. The downside is of course not being able to play games with ant-cheat and it being more of a hassle to mod but it’s leaps and bounds more accessible and consistent than any other handheld rn.

So with the steam deck oled, now that should be the top #1 without any doubts right? 😁

ROG Ally is better than Steam Deck as far as I am concerned, Due to steam's restricted regional availability ROG Ally is actually more affordable in my region compared to an imported Steam Deck, and it comes with local warranty. And while running on windows means sacrifices when it comes to battery life, storage space etc, it also means incredible amount of freedom of use and customization that the Steam Deck just can't match.

Now the Legion Go seems even better than ROG Ally. Lenovo Legion has a history of being more value for money compared to Asus ROG. Of course, will have to wait for proper reviews and availability. Would love a cheaper Legion Go "MAX" version that has a display limited to 1200p and 60hz for maximum battery life.

i’m looking for the best for on the go gaming that’s not crazy big , i see the steam deck is a big community and seems to be good , but the style and clarity of the Ally is making me bite my tongue about the Deck , Any suggestions?

It’s strange that no one has gotten a review unit for the Legion Go, Russ had one for the Ally right? All I’ve seen are a few brief “hands on” videos.

It will pretty much always be the steam deck for me. ROG ally in Aus is $1299 and the Steam Deck 64GB new was 699 + 100 for 1tb drive. Also with the Steam Deck OS 3.5 switch and PS3 have gotten a lot better from my experience as well which is a big plus

Which handheld would I keep forever? None they all have major flaws. The ally and the deck the fewest.

I used both system but in end I sold the steam deck and kept the ally only because of the quality screen in deck it's wash out and hurt eyes at least for me

I'm a BIG fan of the GPD Win 4 because of how portable and powerful it is! I dont mind plugging in my power bank (which i usually have with me when I travel for general tech) to keep going on flights ✈️

I have a steam deck that I have had since last year and have no plans on getting rid of it. I'm getting an Ally for the games that don't work on the Steam Deck. I know there are issues with sd card failures with the Ally, but I wasn't planning on using the sd card slot anyways as the games I'm gonna play on the Ally it would be best to use the internal ssd.

As a long time follower of your channel, I just like to hear your opinions on stuff I really can't afford. Though I managed to raise the funds for the steam deck and had to forgo a ps5 to get the ROG Ally, but I'm starting to lean towards gaming on handheld platforms so I'm not going to miss my ps5 a lot.

Other gaming devices I use is the Logitech G Cloud for the streaming of xbox games and I'll continue to use that as my way to play Microsoft games.
