The Oak Ridge Boys had a not too secret crush on Emmylou Harris. In one of their lesser known songs, a bit of a satire, they wrote about the country girl singer beauties of the day (the late 1970's), and in reference to Linda Rondstadt, Olivia Newton John and Emmylou Harris, they penned the priceless line, "Rondstadt's really nice, and I love Olivia's eyes, but heaven is a girl named Emmylou..." :-) PERFECT!

Emmylou can do no wrong, what a lady.

Emmylou has that slightly different phrasing that Willie employs, and it makes for an interesting listen. And of course that voice. What can you say? Clear as a bell, and just as sweet. She's worked with dozens of other singers over the years and she ALWAYS fits in, a natural. One of my all time favorites.
