funny you should mention having to look out the passenger window to drive. my father once suggested he put a windscreen wiper on my passenger window so i could see where i was going when it rained!

The 5.7 small block is a very simple engine, Jeremy was right. But I’d like to see you try and kill a Pushrod Chevy V8. It’s one of the hardest things on the planet to break, apart from Lewis Hamilton’s tax attorneys, obviously.

I have a u.s 06 gto 6sp and it's not only been a great car. It dosnt get much cop attention other them the big cam. On highway it gets 29-30 mpg and makes 438 to the wheels and almost 500tq. What's not to like.

anyone else realize that at the end the rego reads 2017? The year GM cancelled Holden?

In spite of Top Gear and Clarkson's lack of knowledge on all things auto related they at Top Gear were able to use comedy (fine choice when you lack knowledge) to make entertaining video with great cinematography ! Nice shots of the Holden for sure!

I had one of the American versions, 2004 Pontiac GTO. One of the biggest mistakes I have ever made was trading it in on a Thunderbird.

Seeing this clip with all the Australian music being bumped (INXS, Kylie Minogue, Men At Work...and then the Australian national anthem, of all things...) in order to keep up with the general theme surrounding this Holden, Vauxhall, WTF you want to call it on Top Gear and what not, had me rolling. Both dunny doors (commander/manaroo) are still base model(cheapest/readily available) spend more money= bigger motor, supercharged,twin turbo,race suspension from factory. 8-9sec cars from factory

And now they are worth a small fortune!

I emigrated to Australia in 2003 and went into a bar for a few drinks. I got friendly with a big ozzy guy who was already blind drunk and he said we should hit a different bar together. Because i was still under the limit he said i could drive his car which turned out to be a brand new Holden Monaroo. I had never driven something as big and powerful and it was just an incredible machine and experience. But as we were nearing the pub he pulled up the handbrake as i was turning a corner causing me to slide out of control, straight into a set of traffic lights which completely destroyed the front end of the car. What a genius.

Back in the day when a 5.7 engine was just a 'bit of fun'.

I think that 0-60 time was an error. I know the stock LS2 (US GTO) version does 0-60 in 4.3 seconds. That 6.5 seconds cant be right.

We only like European pieces of garbage cars that repeatedly break down.ha ha ha
