I'm colored and proudly so. If you think you know my history, take me on.
ОтветитьShe not like us😂😂
ОтветитьI think if she wasnt being pushed so hard in the American market no one would give af
ОтветитьKleurling not coloured but she didn't knw it's gonna hurt the blacks
ОтветитьWhat she should hve done to use the the word coloured is kleurling in south africa that's what we call coloured in south africa if they offended
ОтветитьThe people speaking on the race things and criticizing Americans are being wild. She is trying to make it here, so she has to understand what’s happening here. Especially, if she wants support from Black American women.
ОтветитьYou not black. Skin can’t possibly be black… your dark brown gtfoh, stop being white washed, “black” and “white” referring to skin was created by the slave owners back in the 1700’s in AMERICA and made echo in the world. They gave us the color of death and gave themselves the color of purity, when skin can’t possibly be black or white but peach and brown
ОтветитьFor some reason tyla don’t full seem genuine something off about her as for her color I think she didn’t know it will be a big deal to the us it’s a big deal yes America obsessed with race most definitely mix raced ppl
ОтветитьShes not black shes will never be black and im a south african she has 2 colored parents shes not black !!!!
Ответить1st world countries think they’re the only ones that exist and have a history. Words mean different things in different cultures and countries. Travel more and broaden your horizons.
ОтветитьAll she do is wag her tail
ОтветитьSo in America people of colour is acceptable but coloured people is not?
ОтветитьShe is literally a light skin/mixed black girl, and she is directly from South Africa, racial terms are different all over the world this is stupid
ОтветитьLike what do you think black Americans are mixed with. We're not just African where mixed with a lot of things but we're still black. It's cool I get it people become black when it benefits them.
ОтветитьBoth my parents are African but trust me, i'm not your phenotypical, generic black girl.
ОтветитьShe’s literally mixed not Black lmao
ОтветитьCharlemagne is known for asking rude questions, that was a great response tho
ОтветитьAmericans are so jarring
ОтветитьAmericans don’t get the 1st, 2nd and final say on how ethnicity is classified in other countries. People need to learn the difference between race, ethnicity and nationality. Some Black Americans really have main character syndrome. And black Americans should be the LAST black people on earth to talk about popularising offensive terms after they popularised the n-word and turned it into a fashion trend through hip-hop, to the point where the n-word is used today more than ever. Hundreds of millions of black people outside of America (who vastly outnumber Black Americans) find that term an offensive racial slur but begrudgingly accept that black Americans absorbed that word into common parlance. Although we resent them popularising a slur against our people, we deal with it and smile at Black Americans through gritted teeth 😬 so i don’t see the issue doing the same for Tyla in return.
ОтветитьWe are alive and kicking in South Africa. Don`t erase my identity. You are disrespectul and ignorant. Use your platform to unite people and spread love instead. You and your fellow Americans bullying Tyler so bad. You are coming accross as a jealous female and very insecure. I AM A PROUD COLOURED
ОтветитьWhy is it always the black interviewers the ones who want to get messy? No other interviewers be asking her this stupid questions I swear
ОтветитьAll those classifications huntings are quite nasty. What do people care?? Tyla is tyla.
Ответитьshe said she wasn’t black before I don’t get why it matters she’s cute and talented!!
ОтветитьAmericans have never been to SA and have no clue that we have entire city where mixed race black people were forced to live and also have no clue if apartheid in SA or SA history
ОтветитьPlease go learn South Africa's colonial history BEFORE apartheid. Africa has been colonised so many times and we all carry pieces of that. Africa is not just black, it's a place that has been pillaged for hundreds of years and still survived.
ОтветитьShe’s smart for not responding. The internet would have torn her apart no matter what she said. A delayed response came out clear and educated.
ОтветитьOnly black women can give birth to black children - anything less is biracial
ОтветитьAs a black South African i can say coloureds are not just mix between black and white. Also arab , Indian are classified as blacks what you would classify as black American here is usually classified as coloured even Kevin heart could be classified as a coloured. And they have their culture, language. An African (black ) is usually someone who identified as pure African non mix with other races have their culture also . By the way Coloured , African , Indians and Chinese are legally classified as blacks in South Africa
ОтветитьA beautiful BLACK woman by the name of Normani album drops tonight.❤
ОтветитьOne drop doesn't automatically mean black to everybody in the world.
ОтветитьI hate this discussion. This came about because black people always claim biracials as black then get offended when they say they're not.
They think if they claim exceptionally beautiful brown people that will get beauty points when in reality we don't.
I am a Black American woman and Tyla is OBVIOUSLY mixed race. She does not look like the average Black woman in America. She looks like the average mixed or Biracial woman in America.
I’m so tired of my people (Black Americans) playing dumb and having amnesia when it comes to this topic. Are we that brainwashed that we don’t know what a Black person looks like anymore?
And for the record, White people in America see her as mixed too. They may call her Black colloquially, because she obviously has some Black ancestry but they will treat her as what she actually is, mixed race. Mixed and Biracial people are not treated the same as unambiguous Black Americans, they NEVER have. Hence their privilege when they’re shoe horned into Black spaces.
Black Americans, GET IT TOGETHER!!! Mixed people, Biracial people are not Black. Everyone knows it but us. And it’s to our own detriment as a group.
And I’ve said this before black Americans are genetically closer to groups like the colored people of SA ironically. If you think you’re walking around here 100% “black” you’re dumb. And I’m referring to true BA’s not blacks who have only been in America for like 2 generations 😂
ОтветитьAll right... now what really matters is: are her next songs gonna last? Forget all the bots' comments
ОтветитьGood evening: Ummm sometimes things need to be explained, to get ppl to understand stuff. Happens alot. She could've just explained it in a short way. Just to get some to understand. She could've said " In Africa that's what, blk ppl are considered, It's totally different than here. But means the samething. Who even said she denied that..?? And why..?? Can some give her a break though. Great video 📹🙂
ОтветитьHonestly it's not that deep. If any American saw her walking down the street they would view her as a Black woman. Why would I care who her great great great grandparents were? Most of us would be shocked ourselves who is a part of our ancestry.
ОтветитьI love that the fear is changing sides, she turned her head on Charlamagne who beforehand terrorized plenty of black women, simple action yet powerful
Ответитьyeah america is so fixated on one drop rule that they don know how dna works
ОтветитьShe's not "black", she's colored. In America , she would be called black. People....she's in S. Africa...she's S. African. She has great skin coloring, she's sweet, and she can sang. Do you, Tyla.
ОтветитьIt’s not cause “oh that’s the terms there” .. everywhere else in Africa they ain’t saying “coloured” … it’s only in South Africa cause of the hatred towards black people and the lighter ones not wanting to be associated with blackness so they use coloured or mixed as a way to seem more ambiguous
ОтветитьShe got that South African apartheid white supremacy rooted so deep in her head that she didn’t wanna claim blackness but then she saw oh damn I’m getting backlash??? Being black is beneficial over here???? 😂😂😂 then had to do damage control— she said what she said and that’s clearly how she actually feels and this is just a PR stunt to handle the backlash cause the black community is upset and that’s 99.9% of her fan base … you ain’t in South Africa anymore babes 😂😂😂😂 pretending you ain’t black isn’t gonna help you anymore
ОтветитьAmericans are prolly offended cuz they strongly believe that the only nation in the world is America
ОтветитьKnowledge is very Eurocentric… I’m so mad people are expecting her to speak on her “blackness.” She does not have to assimilate to fit the American narrative but people are forcing her to!
ОтветитьLet her identify as she chooses. It’s true that Westerners like us Americans classify ppl as one thing as opposed to what they actually are. Tyla is mixed or colored. She has African roots in her but she also has other ethnicities as well. Let her embrace all of her ethnicities and not just one.
ОтветитьShe literally said she's "colored". And that's fine. I'm just wondering why they're pushing her to black Americans. I'm tired of ppl trying to bully us into supporting foreigners who hate us. I'm not gonna tiptoe in my country. FOH
ОтветитьIt’s like you can’t even be mad at her, because if I almost got canceled I’d be hesitant to answer too. Idk this is just what we get for uplifting people who we knew weren’t fully black, expecting them to represent our culture. When they’re not our culture, mixed people have their own identity which is black PLUS their admixture. Nothing wrong with that, but we def gotta stop being delulu. Cause whenever a mixed person only claims they black side we say their a culture vulture like Latto and drake. Anyways y’all stream some Coco Jones for the culture please 🥴
ОтветитьI mean technically she's right the different tribes she's mixed would be considered black/african descent. I think the confusion is that many black Americans think being black and black American culture are the same thing
ОтветитьIt’s sad she had too come out and speak on that; but the 2nd saddest thing I can also see why people question because a lot of people the are non-color love too black-fish.
Let’s not forget racism as well, ignorant people.
