What was the point of Aura again, sorry?

So she had a cult of X members--but for what purpose? I assumed she wanted to try and get Ginjo to be the acting Soul King alike to Tokinada and Hikone since he would essentially be a representative of the Fullbringers, more or less. But last I feel I fell off from was her trying to recruit Kisuke.

I loved the twist when Hirako used his shikai on Hisagi to prevent him from seeing Kyoka Suigetsu release right before his eyes. Too often manga/anime "tactics" come down to just each side taking turns showing off their new abilities - while for me the most satisfying fights are those where instead already established abilities are used in clever and creative ways.

Aizen mercy killing Tosen is just plain stupid to me. I've always saw it as soul suicide taking place, because that's the lore we're given previously and it makes sense. It also didn't need to be explained at the moment of his death because we already had that info. Komamura calling out to Aizen in his grief always read to me as Komamura believing Aizen to have corrupted Tosen, ultimately being responsible for cutting short the true friendship he felt for Tosen. That's all the explanation needed, and the writing is on the wall for it, not thrust in your face. I am a manga purist at heart, so until these events are put into that style by Kubo and his team, I don't see any of it as canon, though there are quite a lot of interesting things in these novels. Ginjo being a soul king candidate feels entirely unnecessary; where did he get the quincy reiatsu from? Ichigo? I don't buy that for a second. He simply took a portion of Ichigo's shinigami powers that had been awakened from the fullbring training, that's it.

It's not that Narita haven't matured as a writer in SAFWY but that book more so have Narita's style bleeding in too much. Cause he do write a lot of broken abilities and breaks those down in his own original stories. And as usual in his novels they are usually structured to somewhat interconnect all the character and plot threads by the final act.

Like the dude had already written Durarara and Bacanno before that which are considered masterpieces in the LN sphere.

Ichibei didn’t defeat the Hollow nor did Yama lose. It didn’t reach the palace. Official translation

“He TRIES to scale the skies in an attempt to consume the Reio, but as a result of the battle with Soul Reapers such as Shigekuni Yamamoto, who was still a youthful hero at the time, he was defeated by Manako Osho and Oh-Etsu Nimaiya” Ichibei just rewrites his name afterwards to seal him

I never saw Tosen's death as a soul suicide, if soul suicide happened when a hybrid was close to death then the visoreds would've died in that way multiple times over the course of the story and given that Aizen considered them failure it wouldn't make sense for Tosen to blow up and for them to not. I always saw it as Aizen killing Tosen because Tosen had failed and with the added context of the novel, I'm glad it was a more of a mercy killing because it fits that Tosen would ask Aizen to kill him if he lost sight of his true goal.

I'd love to get an actual timeline. Like when did Soul King, Ichibei and Oetsu awaken. Are Ichibei and Oetsu actual soul reapers or sth else. Also when was Yamamoto born, why wasn't he invited to Royal Guard although he founded the academy and the military branch, Gotei 13 and is clearly stronger than most zero squad members. Why he looked ancient while the quincies who are also over 1000 years old, or some shinigami who are around the same age, like Tenjiro, look much younger.

It’s not surprising that Ikomikidomoe could beat a young Yamato, his whole thing is his infinite evolving based on what he devours, like the 9th but only getting stronger and not developing new abilities. He could have been equal to a younger Barragon, but got stronger over thousands of years, but avoided Barragan during the time and was leagues above him by the time he attacked soul society.

So we know for a fact that grimmjow and Nel are also vasto lordes, and ichibe was around during the time of the splitting of the 3 worlds? Damn, Ichibe was around way back when the soul king could still actually speak, he was ancient before Barragan and Yamamoto we're even born. Since all the original Gotei 13 captains had a Bankai, I'm curious if there was already a royal guard, Ichibe and the Sword creator, before the formation of the Gotei 13, but after the formation of the squads, they were given the name Zero Division .

Aizen grinning at Kamamura could have been a trick of camera angles to make the audience think that Aizen was looking at him. But would it be possible that Aizen was actually looking at Tosen reveling in a comrades request to be fulfilled(Being the old Tosen, as a comrade)? (in some twisted sense) Forgive me, I haven't read CFYOW. Just spit balling. and the thing about soul suicide might have had something to do with Aizen doing his own thing with Tosen like what Kisuke did with Masake just a little different.

I agree Kenpachi is my favourite character, but the guy was just tooooooo damn powerful

Legit Kenpachi in CFYOW scales to true bankai ichigo only in his shikai state and even aizen
he is literally a Transcendental being and he truly killed tension.....

I cant believe i am saying this but take CFYOW kenpachi needs his own spinoff with his own story so that he could have been excluded from just bloody overwhelming everything here

But i do think the nuance of his ridiculous power was starting to build up in TYBW arc
-where unohana stated HE IS THE STONGEST
-his own crew members could not feel his reiatsu anymore (thus indicating he was evolving)
-him not even mastering his bankai
-also what is his shikai true ability (my opinion is that it can cut anything)
-He was also one of the 5 battle threats

My opinion of kenpachi is similar to Aizen
-aizen was tooo strong so he felt alone
-Kenpachi is too strong so he reduces himself to fight opponents and make it equal

But if those shackles was released I am certain he evolved, cause even nimaiya and Ichibe could not believe he was only a shinigami

Honestly I think the difference between CFYOW and SAFWY comes down to what works for Narita. Man's got Baccano and Durarara under his belt, two series FULL of characters with intersecting lines, foreshadowing from the smallest of places, mysteries to be solved and questions to be answered, and especially with DRRR a ton of flair and bombast on top of it.
So coming off of TYBW, you have a ton of characters, a ton of questions to be answered, and a good handful of characters who hadn't come to their full potential by the time the manga officially ended to play around with, which I feel plays to Narita's strengths more than what he had to play around with/invent in SAFWY which was still in the middle of the canon bleach storyline.

Tokinada simply wants to expose the first sin and the evil and corruption of the Shinigami and the soul society.
None of the Shinigami are good, they are the ultimate villians of Bleach, some know some don't. They carried out the abomination of the first sin, and Yoruichi, Kiskuke, and Soi Fons are the ones who killed and imprisoned to cover it up and would have been just as willing to do the same thing to Ichigo. Aizen and Tokinada are right. Tokinada has done nothing the Shinigami themselves haven't done and will continue to do a thousand million times more to anyone and anything that will expose their evil. Tokinada simply did it for the inverse reason to expose the Shinigami on what they are and what they've done. He's no different than any of the other Shinigami. Tokinada and Aizen wanted to expose the lie and set things right while the Shinigami are desperate not to expose their evil and right the wrong of their abomination. The first sin is inherently evil and vile to the detriment of all except the nobles and the strongest and oldest Shinigami. This is why the Shinigami go to hell, for the evil they have forced and continue to force on the world for their sake to the detriment of all else. The Shinigami are the ultimate and true villians of Bleach and always have been.

I love that Tokinada was the final villain (so far) because he represents the faction that started much of this chaos to begin with: The Noble Families.

I love the fact that he'd so evil that Yoruichi would rather be under Aizen than him.

The fact he could easily emotionally attack Shunsui, Byakuya (two men known to keep their cool much of the time) and others shows that he knows he has reach to touch them but they can't touch him so easily.

The fact he has the powers to help change the world for the better but he would rather destroy is scary because villains like Aizen, Koga, Kiriya, Amagai, Ginjo and others did what they did for personal gain and you make change but.... Tokinada just wanted to put all the secrets out there just to see what happens.

Regardless of the conversation Aizen has with Tosen his actions in how he kills Tosen and reacts is perfectly logical to me. Just because he promised such a thing doesn’t mean they Gotei needs to be privy to it and if he can get underneath their skin further and erode their defenses to easy one shots then it’s a smart move. Honestly Tosen is dead in that moment anyways so who cares how he dies? The point is Aizen fulfills his promise and he gets to piss of Fox Captain.

The Tosen and death scene is not a result of soul suicide for the simple fact that soul suicide occurs as a result of the transformation process and not the existence. That's why visoreds and arrancars can stay alive but also why they are so rare. There's very few exceptions, the main being pure quincies as they have two major issues to deal with in terms of hollowfication.
1. Soul suicide would get to a pure quincy if there's no intervention, that's the reason why the visoreds are still alive, they would have died had Urahara not made a vaccine using a quincy bow and human reishi to balance the hollow and shinigami forces. There's also a second way to overcome come this and it's by using the hogyoku as an intermediary, thus making arrancars and visoreds at a much faster, safer rate. There's also a third-ish rate but that's Yhwach and his power to create quincies, but that's a mix of the two as Yhwach, who takes in reishi of those he's touched after they die, has a good amount of all four creatures and he's like the hogyoku in that he can bring forth the potential of others by giving then some of himself.
2. Pure quincies are naturally poisoned by hollow reiatsu, so even if they underwent hollowfication they would end up suffering and dying as a result. That's why they need to undergo a purification ritual if they get hurt by a hollow, because the remaining reiatsu will slowly destroy them if not purged(quincy take in reishi so expelling that remaining impurity would be difficult for a single quincy). The reason why Masaki was considered impure wasn't because she was bitten but because the hollow tried to hollowfy her and, being incapable of purging the parasitic hollow, they instead kept Masaki in a perpetual state of balance. But that dormant hollow would have stayed in Masaki and be partially passed to her children, and if they had been pure quincies then they would have died, thus the Ishida family had to let Masaki go. The reason why Isshin didn't return to being a shinigami after the birth of Ichigo was because Masaki was still at risk and Ichigo didn't actually have the complete balance active until after he became shinigami.

I believe that Tosen exploded using a similar mechanism to how Mayuri detonated his subordinates in the Rukia Rescue arc

I don't see early Kisuke as someone who would go into weapons research.
I believe that his original intend was to unify hollows and shinigami to bring peace, after all a hybrid of the two would be like a peace symbol.
And arrancar are smart enough to reason with.
The Aizen/Tosen thing fills a certain plothole. Tosen must have been totally stable, since he was made like the Aranccar. Him getting killed by Aizen makes so much sense and makes Komamura's reaction even more justified.
