Here we go again, with pseudo "scientists" blaming normal rain conditions on global warming. Who are these scientists of which you speak? A few names, please. In all of my years living in the Bay Area, I have always seen rain storms every Winter, some heavy, some light. It's called "weather," although to make it sound snooty it's now called "climate."
