More like its for old people and lazy people.
Ответитьridgewallet is better :D
ОтветитьReally great idea. Which is the cheapest source of NFC tags and what is the smart home system to follow . I want to work with sonoff due to its availability please guide and comment
ОтветитьPlanning anything that requires me to carry that stupid smartphone around all the time is just ridiculous. Being a slave to big telecom and a network doomed to fail at the next major CME, is not the smart way to live if you value your privacy and hard earned money. I thought you were the "Smart" Home Solver. I guess you never heard of Edward Snowden.
ОтветитьThese ideas are great. You’ve replaced the hassle of me having to say a single voice command into my Apple Watch with the convenience of carrying my phone and swiping it at everything in the house to command it. Not to mention illegally handling my phone while in the car rather than having to say “open the garage door”.
Seriously, why would anyone use an NFC tag for anything automation related when you can just use voice? I can see having it for predefined things like a wi-fi password for guests or something else where you don’t want to have to make people type something in, but if your automation system can’t use geofencing on your phone, voice commands, or god forbid sensors to just automate things, then you don’t have an automation system. Walking around swiping my phone at everything seems pretty backwards considering where we are technology wise.
These are great ideas, but I can't help to wonder, what level of desperation will yoi tap into if you ever lose your phone or if it breaks 😂
ОтветитьHey Reed, how do I set my nfc tag to open (and/or close) my garage door?
ОтветитьTRIGGERED WARNING: thermostat not centered on wall above switches!!
OMG I can barely handle it
No, you do not have to open the Lock Screen on Android! On Pixel, for example, you can disable or enable this in the settings. Separately for payments or general NFC-Tags!
ОтветитьDon't forget, an NFC tag in the bathroom that dismisses an alarm for waking up in the morning for chronic oversleepers. Although, I do prefer to always keep a 30 seconds snooze so I'm not running down the hall with a blaring phone.
ОтветитьYou dont need to unlock an Android to use NFC. Goto Settings, connected devices, NFC, toggle 'require device unlock for NFC' to OFF.
ОтветитьWhy not just speak your automations? Just trying to understand the benefit vs just saying it to Google or Alexa or whatever
ОтветитьAre these people really for real? I mean this is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard of. What’s the difference between a smart tag and just simply setting a reminder?
ОтветитьUseless
ОтветитьSadly the iPhone's NFC is still slow and clunky at picking up these tags. I have to literally move my phone around the tag a few times in order for it to register, on top of also having to have my phone unlocked. It's much easier to just manually do these actions via its respective app. Until Apple makes their NFC feature faster as registering tags, these aren't very practical.
ОтветитьIts all fun and games until you loose or your phone dies...
ОтветитьI just watched another video that I swear ripped off your video
ОтветитьCan't find the Spotify pass off video, anyone got the link?
Ответить3 squares? looks you need at least 10 aqaures. JK. This is nice a nice one.
ОтветитьI have a brain. Dont need it
ОтветитьI need a video on what app you are using that bugs you until you scan the nfc on your recycling bin. Like is this a persistent notification on your phone?? And then my next question is to show us how you setup the automation to mark that task off untill the next time.
ОтветитьI can't seem to find anything on setting up NFC tags using Android and the app NFC tools ( paid version ). I was hoping you could explain to me how, using the tools app, I go about setting up NFC tags to run automations/routines on Android. I want to be able to turn on/off lights, TV, smart outlets etc. I have Google home, smart things, Aqara, apple home ( just on iPad, no iPhone ) and Alexa in my house. I've gotten the tag programmed to have it open Google home but I can't figure out where to go after that to add turning things on or off. Can I program a tag to run a Google home automation I already have set up? Can I have it open smart things and turn stuff on/off from that app? Any help would be appreciated.
ОтветитьI scoffed at the start when you warned us about potentially buying NFC tags by the time we're done watching...
...anyway so my 50 pack of NFC stickers arrives later today 😹
What app do you use for programming
ОтветитьReed, I always appreciate your perspectives, but I'm not buying the hype on this one. If I have to have my phone in my hand to scan an NFC tag, I might as well just click a button on my phone's screen that does whatever I need done. The benefit of that is I can do it from anywhere, not just where an NFC tag is physically located. I haven't found a good use case in my life (yet) for NFC tags.
ОтветитьHow strong is the adhesive backing? Once you place the sticker somewhere, can you easily move it to a new location if you later change your mind or is it stuck there permanently? Since all the stickers you used look identical, if someone mischievously relocated all the NFC tags as a prank, can you write or draw on them so you can identify them without having to walk around scanning every relocated tag to see what information is on each tag?
ОтветитьPosso sapere che app utilizzi per creale le rutine o che app utilizzi per farti ricordare tutte le cose che devi fare. Mi piacerebbe fare qualcosa del genere, pero nella mia famiglia ce chi utilizza ios e android.
ОтветитьAs the phone needs to be unlocked, I see only disadvantages when compared to voice commands.
ОтветитьFinally, some actually practical applications for smart home tech! A lot of things online are a bit gimmicky or look cool in video but aren't practical for real life. Some of these examples are a bit boring and seem lazy for a quick video, but the more I think about it the better these sound for some daily or weekly tasks.
Also this is the first sponsor I'll actually look into. Seems exactly like what I need!
washer/dryer can be done with a smart plug that has power measurement
garage door button is automatic with carplay based on your location
So, you have to even trow trash with a smartphone
Ответитьidiocracy
ОтветитьDude, you have to remember what 100 NFC tags around your house are for but you forget when the trash cans have to go out!? LoL.
ОтветитьIs there an app that allows you to activate these without turning on your screen? Better yet a watch that actually reads nfc tags not just payment stuff.
ОтветитьHi how can made automation with nfc tags
ОтветитьiOS users don't realize the major security threat of a phone reading NFC tags while locked
ОтветитьWould I be able to attach one to my bin and scan it to open a saved pdf calender on my phone to seen which bin goes out when?
ОтветитьThis sounds very useful, but how do you program an NFC tag? What if I wanted my iPhone’s settings to automatically switch the auto-lock feature to “never?”whenever I start the engine and launch MAPS, connected via Bluetooth, to my phone?
And when my car engine is shuts off, to return auto-lock back to the time setting (e.g., from 30 seconds up to 5 minutes) my phone was before I entered my car?
Now that would be a very good way to prevent your screen from going black while navigating. If I forget to switch manually, my screen does turn off, and that is dangerous.
I’d love to hear your answer to that.
so... your nfcs tags replace your alexa... which you already have....
ОтветитьCan you use an NFC tag to change the content on a Dakboard?
ОтветитьYou need an NFC tag to remind you where all your NFC tags are
Ответитьwhat companion app do you use for nfc tag commands execution on your phone ?
ОтветитьNear the end you said that you have to unlock Android to scan NFC. This is not strictly true. Some newer versions of Android let you configure that setting on or off.
ОтветитьHow do you encode the tags to automate? Like your thermostat and stuff?
ОтветитьHi Brett. I have Wink hub to control switch and dimmers. Wink is terrible. What other hub can you recommend to replace Wink?
Thanks
if someone goes in and out of the door 10 times in 5 minutes, automatically turn off the doorbell notifications
