Really love this series of Bat family your doing . Subbed due to nightwing and redhood
Thanks keep em coming
Overcoming trauma is definitely something far from easy. Id say im like a watered-down red hood, but id definitely want to be more like nightwing.
Also, have you ever watched "sinbad: legend of the seven seas"?
I think itd be cool if you made a vid on him. And maybe some other characters from different franchises.
Maybe
Percy Jackson
Harry Potter
Transformers
Star wars
Etc.
Jason got a real miracle treatment eith his revival. That said, I PRAY DC doesn't kill off Tim or try to make him edgy in order to replicate Jason (they've already screwed up Tim enough, I'd say).
ОтветитьBatman: your ruling through intimidation and murder, your becoming a crime lord
Red Hood: Yes, that's what you never understood, you can't stop crime, I'm controlling it, you want to rule them by fear but what do you do with the ones who aren't afraid? I'm doing what you won't, I'm taking them out!
Bruce Wayne: tell me what happened to you, let me help
Jason Todd: it's too late...you had your chance...
This is why when it comes to things like this I love Red Hood a lot more than Batman because say what you want about Batman but Red Hood was never an evil person, he was just wronged by the world and when it comes to crime at least he has a zero tolerance policy for crime and at least he gets shit done instead of locking the clown back up in the same facility knowing he's gonna escape again in a week and get out to do the same shit which is kill more people
Homelander and masculinity would be interesting
ОтветитьI wish we would've gotten an Under the Red Hood movie in live action. It's a fantastic story, but all Hollywood seems to do is make more dark and brooding lone wolf Batman movies. So boring.
ОтветитьMy favorite member of the fam best written
ОтветитьNow do Arsenal 🙏🙏
ОтветитьI think Jason becomes a genuinely good person in new 52 and rebirth. Like the way he is like a big brother to bizzaro
ОтветитьMore like fragile masculinity. Bro gets beaten up once and all of a sudden has to compensate by using guns and brutally murdering people. He ain’t no more masculine than Ted Bundy.
Ответитьi dont like how jason uses ruber bullets and non lethal weapons in gotham knight, thats what he is, people love the ruthless red hood
ОтветитьRemember in the comics superboy prime punch a whole in reality and resurrected Jason
ОтветитьI would say Damian is more representative of Batman's ruthlessness than Jason. Jason is more of his rage than anything else; his sheer unbridled passionate hate for criminals. But the cold ruthlessness of Batman & his potential for life-taking aggression will always be embodied in The Son of The Demon himself
ОтветитьIf Dick went through what Jason went through he wouldn’t be any different Jason went through way worse and he cared about Batman but he had to question Batman’s methods
ОтветитьKeep the masculinity videos coming 🙏🏼
ОтветитьRed Hood is the necessary evil Batman could never do. That's why I like to think Batman walked away because he is letting Jason give Joker the time to kill him himself. Bruce knows he's wrong, and the only way he compensates while sticking to his morals is to leave it to the people to have their justice.
ОтветитьJason doesn't blame Batman he is just infuriated by the whole situation, many people blame Batman that Jokker and other criminals get out all the time, but what has Batman to do with that he offers them on a silver plater to authorities who fail over and over again ? Well Jason is the solution to that failiure of society, and I bet meny people in Gotham would be perfectly willing to look other way around if it meant solving the crime problem. On the other hand authorites could change laws and deal more harshly with criminals but choose not to. But it is a fictional setting in real life Jokker would be dealt with by the police especially in the US. But he is needed for the story, and others as well. One of mine favorite stories is the Court of Owls, they do what Batman won't and they are the bad guys because of it. And Batwomans father also crosses that line and becomes exactly like League of Assassins and Ra's al Ghul.
ОтветитьJason is the most tragic character in the DC, and it makes us love him that much more. I know a solo movie of Jason would introduce the best DC character to the world
ОтветитьAll I know is Jason’s mom is for the streets🗣️
ОтветитьCan you please do Tim drake next he’s my favorite robin
ОтветитьJust discovered your channel. I find your vids are interesting. After watching your Nightwing video, I am starting to think about this stuff a lot more. I feel like because people view masculinity as the default, we often don’t think about it as much in media. Great vids, keep up the good work!
ОтветитьThe ending of this video brought me to tears for some reason. I really enjoy these videos on masculinity you make, and serve as inspiration for my own journey as a man.
Thank you for doing God's work.
I have an off topic question to imran, what do you think would happen to someone who doesn’t have a good father figure at all?
ОтветитьThe Main Continuty Jason Is Probably The Only Character Botter To Follow IN Moder DC
He was wtitten by the same autor for like 10 years so hes slow but stedy development is really good in my opinion
He does started more or less aftter his Under the Red Hood Self same ouffit abd similar personality
But trow all thise years he overcomes all that trauma and becomes what he allways was supose to be
Theres a small interaction he has whit Bizzarro that make me cry when i reed it
Hes literaly telling him to look at the preaty flowers while charging a kriptonite gun , now thats Bizzarro hes is a being capeble of destroying the hole world but also is someone thats not fully aware of whats hapeing
Jason aims the gun at Bizzarro but realises that, Bizzarro is not a moster he juat needs guidense like he did at some point so he dosent pull the trigger
Past Jason wouldnt hesited but all the Camarads ans thihgs he had live make him not pull the trigger even if it was the most logical anwser
Because Some Times People Deserve More
Can you do a video on Caesar from The modern “planet of the apes” series related to his philosophy and masculinity!!
ОтветитьRed hood is the peak of masculinity, productive and thinks on the long term rather going on his feelings that ,, he feels bad"
ОтветитьThat video was amazing! You weren't shitting on Jason, you said the truth!
ОтветитьCan you do an Optimus Prime and Masculinity
ОтветитьW Red Hood
Ответить"Nightwing and Red Hood represent two sides of the same coin of Batman" What about Tim and Damian? Does that mean Batman has 2 coins?
Ответитьso true. the reason i find red hood so compelling--and my ACTUAL favorite character in the batfam--isn't his rage or his violent approach to justice, but his redemption, his healing journey. a character like jason provides a different kind of hope in contrast to nightwing's, which is the hope that one day you can overcome your past mistakes and be a good person, no matter how badly you messed up in the past.
ОтветитьAll I’m saying if when written well, he was a fantastic robin! He saved Batman in the cult, and helped save superman in the issue for the man who has everything. His robin was the one that was going through the period change of campy criminals to drug plots and he still cracked jokes while being serious at times.
ОтветитьSubbed :)
ОтветитьCan you now talk about my favorite Robin Tim Drake
Ответитьarkham knight is one of my favorite stories for jason
Ответитьi very well might be the only woman viewing this video (and this whole series of videos— i watched the other dc videos after this one, and they were all excellent), but i wanted to put in my two cents.
whilst i don’t believe in the whole “jason todd was always a mean kid” rewrite (he loved being robin, he was bright and cheery as robin, and that’s what made his story so heartbreaking), something that’s spoken of a lot here, i love the idea that jason is dick’s foil. whilst dick became a mirror of bruce’s best qualities, jason represents the worst: the need for revenge, a version of batman who was crippled by his circumstances instead of growing above it.
i love this series & your personal views and philosophies surrounding the idea of masculinity. jason is insecure in a lot of things in his life, and his masculinity suffers as well. such a wise series. i love seeing masculinity spoken about in more ways than just toxic hypermasculinity because it is so deeply important.
i would love to see your thoughts on the innate effeminate nature written into the joker, although it doesn’t quite fit the themes of these videos. i feel like his effeminate features— something that’s emphasized in many of his incarnations— contrasts batman’s masculinity in a way that’s fascinating.
keep up the nice work this is fantastic stuff🫶
Got it, decaptitating your enemies is masculine. Say no more, Patron.
ОтветитьRed hood get shit done he GOAT
ОтветитьJason; always loses because authors don’t want to present his sense of morality as victorious.
ОтветитьYou should do a video on the Punisher; he has some similarities to Jason Todd. In some cases, Frank Castle might be more damaged than Jason Todd which would make for an interesting video.
ОтветитьWhat masculinity? That's my malewife
ОтветитьOkay, I understand this, but it feels like you didn't read Jason's OG run, almost eveey other versions of his robin has been a miss representation of his character caused by a writer in 1988 who admitted that he hated the idea of robin and wanted everyone else to hate him enough to vote for him to die
ОтветитьI feel the Arkham Jason had it worse. He didn't die, instead Joker kept him alive so his suffering could continue. The voice lines during Jason's final showdown makes it clear how broken he really was.
"It was all about you, what Joker did. He ruined me to spite you!"
"Come out. Face me! You owe me that!"
"I can still here him laughing, he's still in my head!"
"Do you know the things he did? The games he used to play?! This is mercy compared to what he put me through!"
"Do you know where he kept me? I was soooo close."
"Did you even look for me? Or did you just look for a replacement?"
"I was just a kid, you turned me into a soldier, sent me to war!"
Then there is his lines when you reach him. Each time you did, Jason sounds closer to breaking down.
"There's no helping me!"
"Don't pretend to understand!"
"Don't call me that! That's not who I am!"
"Stop! Stop talking to me!"
Originally, Dick was significantly more angry and impulsive as Robin than Jason, while Jason was mostly just a sweet kid. Nerdy, introverted, did VERY well academically, and was seen as wannabe adult (paraphrasing) by his peers.
However, enormous amounts of trauma and tragedy have jaded him and made him who he is today.
Edit: Also, it’s important to remember that Jason actually offered Batman a third option in that ultimatum; Allow Jason to kill Joker instead of doing it himself.
The ultimatum in general went a little something like this; Batman could kill the Joker himself and Jason would come back to him, he could allow Jason to kill the Joker and continue his work in Crime Alley as he was doing already, or he could kill Jason because Jason didn’t want to live in a world where the life of his murderer mattered more to him than his own.
What has this got to do with masculinity
ОтветитьTim really needs to be covered, the guy is awesome.
ОтветитьCould you do Giles from BTVS?
ОтветитьMy favorite Robin
