Hey libraries, if you have to get rid of your books, send them to me. I'll build a private library. I'll also take your un-popular, out of date, kind of damaged, etc. books. To an extent. I don't think 900 copies of the same book would be productive.
ОтветитьLots of things about this made me have feelings and reactions, mostly rage, but the one I did absolutely not expect was the burst-out-laughing in the middle of such rage, by "muy caro pendeja".
ОтветитьWe see the party that supports an almost illiterate person for president trying to make our kids illiterate like him by banning books.
ОтветитьThose wanting to ban books, are ignorant and want their children to be ignorant.
Perfect for all trackers. Like the orange guy love the uneducated.
The Bible contains murder, incest, rape, etc
ОтветитьShit Show perfect
ОтветитьWhat century are these lunatics living in? Also, if we’re going to be quoting the Bible for this discussion, I do believe God told us all to “be fruitful and multiply” and “let he who is without sin cast the first stone.” I’m Christian myself, Bible thumping bumpkins. Nobody speaks for God and those that pretend to usually end up in the boiler room of hell.
ОтветитьHistory is the proof that any oppressive system burned books, guarded knowledge, entertainment, art, architecture. In other word ideas. It is always an idea that poses more danger to a dictatorship than a, say, gun. I lived in a system like that. As much as it might have suppress a lot of people on one hand, on the other hand it made people with ideas greater and stronger. More prolific. More creative. Human spirit can't be suppressed. It will prevail. One should not be afraid of what is happening in this free world where small groups with very poor information and intention to dominate seem to prevail. One needs to oppose and push back.
ОтветитьMy library has 2 floors. The kids books are kept on the bottom floor. Adult stuff uptop. Kids under 13 aren't supposed to go up top without parents. They have a pretty good selection of movies, games, and music too. Libraries are fantastic. Spent a fair bit of time there as a teen. Used to f*^k a girl in the book depository elevator 🛗 good times.
ОтветитьSupport libraries, sure. But not the ALA. Having been on the inside, no one likes them. Beg for money, mismanage funds, don't really support librarians
ОтветитьJust noticed that the word “libraries” contains two zodiac signs. 🤯
ОтветитьThat disturbed blond lady needs to spend less time reading (and hyperventilating) about puberty books and more time in therapy healing her childhood trauma.
ОтветитьYou worry too much; here in Germany we had a phase back then of banning books and even burning them and nothing bad happened...
ОтветитьFriend of mine who comes from a small community found their sexual orientation and the vocabulary from the local library. Of course, not from the childrens' section, and they were a young adult or an old teen then. We did have reasonably good sexual education in these parts even 30 years ago, but obviously stuff like queerness or LGBT folk were not discussed. I suppose more "niche" and "taboo" stuff like BDSM isn't discussed today either. But it's very liberating to a person to find out that they're not alone in whatever they feel inside.
ОтветитьKennedy could have a great career doing audiobooks of smut.
Ответитьon the booklooks logo not only are the b and l fucking the acronym also spells "BL" which is the commonly used acronym for "boy's love" a Japanese genre of gay male fiction
ОтветитьIsn't there a story of a man in having sex with daughters in the bible? Let's ban the bible.
ОтветитьWould they accept book challenges against teaching kids Religions because of all the sexual molestation that takes place by people in the clergy too, and move them all too the adult section too? There is alot of sexual content in the Bible too and even childrens Sunday School books that show Adam and Eve....did those go too the adult section too?
ОтветитьI'm seriously going to go back to the library now.....
ОтветитьI can't stand it when people claim to be Christian. You're turning up on someone's doorstep with a Bible and a gun??? Those two don't go together at all. These morons are simply poorly educated halfwits who couldn't pass their English classes.
ОтветитьThank you!
ОтветитьThey're idling at 451°F. Don't accept this as normal or political, they're trying to edit history and your rights.
ОтветитьBanning Books gives kids a list of Books they Definitely want to Read
ОтветитьBan the Bible, it contains Murder, Incest etc
ОтветитьBut the bible in school is fine right??????
Ответить"Mommy, what's Anal sex?" merch when?
ОтветитьLibrarians are highly respected here in Asia. I think its only in America where you will call librarians a phedophile😂. This country is dystopia.
ОтветитьThey want to banned the public library yet tiktok and other socmed had all of the non-sense that are 10x dangerous to children.
ОтветитьI’m trying to read the book The Race Against Time, Ironically I Never Have The Time.
ОтветитьBut when a decorated Vietnam veteran dies due to being poisened in Vietnam his surviving spouse goes hungry, without basic necessities as well as heat light and must live in poverty for the military continues to deny how unnecessary and fruitless it is to send our best young men into an slaughter house of ignorance and shame.
ОтветитьI work in a public library. We are one of the few systems that have COMPLETELY BANNED ANY sort of displays. We had such bad threats sent to my branch at one point that the cops had to escort us after we closed the building. We can’t have any display or decoration for anything & it’s truly depressing. My system has also made it where any of our libraries that have Young Adult books with a trans character or written by a trans author have to be put into the adult fiction section including the Magnus Chase series by Rick Riordan. Also basically any children’s book that mentions homosexuality or racism or divorce or anything like that has to be put in our “parent and early childhood development” section, which kids cannot access unless they have a completely unrestricted card. The “PEC” section used to be placed near the baby board books so parents could find them while they were in eye-sight of the children, but now it is moved completely across the library. It’s disheartening & frustrating because literally 99% of our patrons are so kind & supportive & have spoken out against our board for these decisions, but the board doesn’t care.
Ответить😮
Ответитьmany libraries also feature TONS OF STREET PEOPLE WHO USE LIBRARIES AS DAYROOMS-They leave the bathrooms filthy and often full on the brown and yellow stuff, way too often personally stink and also come in breathing smoke from their last butt. Not to mention the crowding out of regular patrons at tables, seating computers etc. I'm what used to be a liberal AND I'M FED UP--no wonder Trump dominates-0-pregressives have become elitists and keep driving people away
ОтветитьActivist ruined the libraries!
ОтветитьHeaven fucking forbid that parents do their fucking job and parent their children by monitoring their intake. No, no.. apparently it makes MUCH MORE SENSE to parent EVERY other person...
ОтветитьAnd teachers will rush the library even more!
ОтветитьAnyone who thinks this would never happen in your small town, you're wrong & you might wanna take a trip to your local Public Library.
My hometown is Easton, Maryland, birthplace of Frederick Douglass & 1 county over & 20 minutes away from the birthplace of Harriet Tubman.
None of us were alarmed with Dick Cheney & Donald Rumsfeld retired here in Talbot County, in the quaint little town of St. Michaels. A historically known as the Town That Fooled The British, & so close to Easton that ½ our of Easton middle & high kids have been redistricted to attend St. Michaels, 15 minutes away, even though, like our kids, we lived INSIDE Easton town limits & were 8 to 9 minutes from the schools.
Sounds crazy right? It is. And it's exactly why we began homeschooling the moment Betsy Devous became Secretary of Education.
We knew that Moms for Liberty was taking over our BOE, we never thought they'd target the Library.
Until...
A Prager family decided to make Easton their 2nd home. Yes, THAT Prager family. Apparently, their fancy condo above The Met is a stressfull place to live. He started putting his name up on historic buildings right in the center of downtown. He began funding MAGA programs that target education while he also opened an arts center. A classic watch this hand not that one move.
Then, quite by accident, I stumbled upon the fact that they had clandestinely targeted our Talbot County Libraries. They had orders thousands of books distroyed & librarians fought back the only way they could, they donated these books tucking them into free book nooks all over the county. At boating ramps, parks, hidden & secluded reading nooks all over the county. All the classics but especially those that had a conneation to Talbot County & Maryland's part in America's very founding & various eras in American History.
It can & it will happen to your town just as clandestinely as it happened to ours.
When it does, we hope you are able to catch it in time to stop it.
Until God tells Earth what is and isn't what God wants, everyone needs to stop.
ОтветитьThat bit about the bird community at the beginning hints at one of the often unspoken rules of etiquette in the internet: contrary to the spoken word in the real world, it is considered rude to write "I don't know" in response to an open question, since it burries the sought after answer.
ОтветитьDoesn't the Bible mention sodomy? Ban it from the library too, right...?
ОтветитьLibraries are for books and media not fishing poles.
ОтветитьThe real reason people ban books is that they Can't read or read well. And they want to hide that fact.
ОтветитьI remember my father giving me a Book called Ask Beth. It was his way of telling me about the birds and the bees. Thank goodness I was able to read it. It would be banned today under these religious freaks.
