I have a Studio, which I got about 20 years ago (at the age of 18). I was into more high-gain stuff when I bought it, but also pristine, full cleans. I love the bite of my Ebony Studio, but have been dreaming about what I would get if I could buy a "better" one. Well, this video convinced me that what I'm looking for is the Standard 50's. SO different! THAT is character, man.
ОтветитьGreat video. I own a 1992 Gibson Les Paul Studio with an ebony fingerboard. I was told at the time that model was designed to resemble the tone of a Les Paul Custom without the bells and whistles and the cost. Just curious why you didn’t include a Les Paul Custom in the video.
ОтветитьHow about Les Paul Gothic model?
ОтветитьFor me it's the vintage flavored guitars, the Reissues really are my thing...... but I also tweak them with custom wound PAF clones, and more "vintage correct" wiring harness components. But there is a special place in every collection for the LP Junior or Special, those P90s are magic.
ОтветитьBuy the gently used Les Paul. Always buy the gently used Les Paul.
ОтветитьGood enough for Leslie West at Woodstock so it's good enough for me. These guitars really take a shine to DiMarzio pups.
ОтветитьAwesome video,I love my Gibson Les Paul Studio Wine Red Color , it was Giving to me ,and I hope to get another Gibson Les Paul when I turn 50 😊
ОтветитьNo Les Paul Custom for comparison?
ОтветитьI really enjoyed this video. I'd also like to offer a constructive criticism:
I feel like you did each of these guitars a disservice by only demonstrating tone at full volume/tone settings.
Most of these pickups really come into their own with the vintage tones when rolled off a little.
Toronto Long & Mc. I got many items from that store going back to the 80's! A Gibson black custom, a Fender Stat ( only for a short time, Me. I didn't like the curve on the fret board. ( I'm classically trained so, flat, flat fret board.) Amps, High Watt, Traynor, fender Rentals and countless accessories. I now live in Brantford, and have purchased 2 guitars ( Gibson L/p and a wonderful Classical. and other items. Where were you the the 80's Mr. Waterfield?
Ответитьare classic is traditional?
ОтветитьAs in the Strat video, I thought I know a lot about guitars after playing 2 years and reading and watching and trying, but I learned a lot already and the video is not even half.
ОтветитьI choose the Les Paul.
It’s the Les Pauliest of the Les Pauls.
It started life as a jazz guitar. Lol
ОтветитьWow. I was today's years old when I learned Gibson had a Les Paul that could be switched to single coil mode.
ОтветитьGood comparative, thanks! usefull..
But i 'm not sure every LP were perfectly tuned before recording.. (ça pique un peu l'oreille ;-) )
Otherwise, something more about actual Tribute models, is the printed circuit in the control cavity :-(, when my two 2011 tribute models have normal floating câbles like any LP standard.
Also, -Both of my 2011 models have Mahogany neck like LP standard, instead of the mapple neck of this actual LP Tribute.
I have a Tribute, Classic. An SG and a Tele.
Tribute is my couch guitar. I gig with the Classic and Tele.
Have a Epiphone acoustic for the porch.
It was gordie lewis thats turn me on to les paul junior and specials love the p90s pickups johnny thunders was also major influence on lots to buy a gibson les paul two guitar legends thar make gibson guitar just scream
ОтветитьVery useful!!!
ОтветитьNice video 👏👏👏👏👏👏👍
ОтветитьNone, there are better guitars out there
ОтветитьJust like the Strat video, many of these guitars are out of tune.
ОтветитьWhat an awesome demonstration. One thing I know is gibson make incredible guitars for all kinds of styles. I wish I could have them all.
ОтветитьI don't care if the eyes are red
I don't care if her nose is long
I don't care if she's underfed
I don't care if her clothes are worn (Why, oh, why?)
'Cause first I look at the purse - The Contours
i liked the les paul
ОтветитьGreat video. As to the junior and special and the wrap bridge, mojoaxe compensated bridges are a game changer. Good enough for Keef, good enough for anyone.
ОтветитьMy first LP was a late 70s standard which I let get away from me. Classic can’t keep a girlfriend story. Recently I went with the Classic over the Studio pro. I love the lean neck and the raw power is hard to hold in check at times. I’m still figuring out all the combinations with the push pulls. Great video!
ОтветитьIs there a couple cm/inch difference between the traditional LP and the standard or others? From neck to lower strap button or size body? Or maybe angle of the neck?
Ответить🎉they suck you can platem with ypur feet buy a tele a d learn to play a guitar
ОтветитьMini Humbuckers with all do respect SUCK . Amp & Guitar Collector 56 years ..
ОтветитьGreat video. One correction though. The solid body custom shop models tend to be lighter than similar USA models. A 1959 reissue LP is normally 8-9 lb.
ОтветитьBonjour,
Which one to buy..select the best ones they make and then play them. Pick the one you feel is best.
Then figure out how to afford it.
Don't buy a Les Paul by a Firefly.
ОтветитьDo all the Les Paul's have exactly the same sized bodies? I find Les Paul's oddly small.
ОтветитьWhich Les Paul should you buy? As a longtime LPC owner, I would recommend something from the Reverend Setneck line…
ОтветитьThis is the best review ever.i enjoyed the fact that you talked about the strength of all the guitars. It's not a Gibson, but i have a 2006 Jr, 2013 Speacial2 both by Epiphone and a MIJ 1983 Cimar Strat... i prefer the Jr's single Humbuck3r pickup.
I also play golf, and the Jr is like having blades in the bag.
Simple difficult elegant and delightful when you get it right. However, you need the touch of a touring professional to get the most out of a Jr.i can’t wait to be good enough.
None, is the answer.
ОтветитьFirst video I’ve seen of you good sir! You’re a phenomenal player. Kudos
Ответитьi think the special are a good middle of the road for what a les pual is, but i like the jr for its simplicity
ОтветитьStandard fool
ОтветитьMost Les Pauls sound good,, BUT the prices for what you get are STUPID. Especially for the sake of,, (TRADITION) (that they really aren't following if you look at now vs then for built techniques and quality. Thus you get the weakest headstock of any guitar. Could be easily fixed by doing a scarf joint. With todays tools they could do it easily for little to no loss of time. Yes it takes a bit more wood but for gods sake just lower the profit margin by a half percent. Or even 1%. That's all it would take
ОтветитьWhining? Bro, if you like chambered guitars, that's you. But dislike of a Les Paul In the studio standard or classic is not an invalid complaint or opinion.. It does affect the tone. And enough people that spoke up about it that now. the Standards are non-chambered and unweight relieved... 9 hole weight relief I think it sounds fine, but ultra is semi hollow body.
ОтветитьI don’t even like Les Paul’s why am I here
ОтветитьThe Tribute sounded really "quacky", love it!
ОтветитьNo Les Paul Custom?
ОтветитьFender Stratocaster gibson les paul Fender telecaster gibson explorer and flying V
ОтветитьI would prefer the lightest with the thinnest neck :D
ОтветитьGibson blow
