my job mate. my job is stopping me. I still have 4 hours to answer my stupid little emails from my stupid little office. I watch your vids and related stuff during my work hours, I just got back into bikes after 15 years and am trying to catch up. Thank you for this series it's really helpful and gives the watcher a push to just do it.
Ответитьi know how to bunny hop but i dont know how im doing it . trying to teach my son. need the science
ОтветитьWell, that explains the “kashing” noise my bike makes when i’m bunny hopping
ОтветитьLove your all videos Ben! Pinkbike is Awesome! You have taught me so much. It's fun and kooky. This is the best instruction out there
ОтветитьBiking can be fun for sure ! I'm not alone :)
ОтветитьJust viewed Season 2. This is really good. I have just played on bike for years, and have some of the Technic already. Great illustrations! Is there a book or website with stills I can quickly the good overview. Would such a book or website improve your good work?
Ответитьi am old, over 60, i learnt to bunnyhop on a road bike with clipless pedals i haven't ridden a bike for nearly 15 years until recently. i just bought a hardtail as my trek is nearly 25 years old. I think I am too old to learn to do it properly, so why can't I just use my bad habits from the past? PS thanks for the videos Ben by far the best learning series on YT
ОтветитьThat’s DH 6th category mtb. Can I ride full suspension in the city????
ОтветитьThese vids remind me of Paul Gilbert's guitar instruction videos from the 90's! So entertaining and funny that it makes it a joy to watch and learn.
ОтветитьThank you Ben and PB crew! After rewatching season 1 last week I literally immediately went out and KOM'd a popular downhill trail in our area and have been posting much faster times (2 3rd place all time) on other segments so far. I am 42 and have been riding for about 8 years so I am not a newbie and would consider myself solidly above intermediate level. I would recommend these vids to riders at all levels to brush up on things they may already know. The braking and cornering vids have made the biggest impact imo. Remembering to let off the brakes just before the peak of the corner is game changing!
ОтветитьIF I CAN FIGURE OUT HOW TO OLLIE , I CAN FIGURE THIS OUT !
.

.
no i can't
Obrigado irmão!!!!!!
ОтветитьThis guy is honestly sooo funny. I wish I could be this guys friend and drink beers with him, I bet he’d be a riot
ОтветитьGreat tutorial 🙏
ОтветитьThis video is very helpful for me, thanks million.
ОтветитьHi Ben,
Please make a video about how to wallride!
The best tutorial ! 👍
Ответить이 사람은 키가 커서 뭘 해도 쉽겠군.... ...키에 비해서 자전거가 매우 작아 보여. 기술연습에 매우 유리한 체형..
ОтветитьHey Ben, as a 6 foot 7, 155 Ibs rider. (200cm I believe) what particular riding pants do you have? Or which ones have you ridden with have the longest? Is there any specific brand I should be looking for? I’m currently running with the Endura MT500’s, and they are getting a bit on the small side. I suppose if I was at least a large instead of a medium, that would be easier.
ОтветитьI tried them with white socks and only bunny hopped 2 inches, will try black socks tomorrow!
ОтветитьAs much as I love what you are doing Ben and how, this time I deffo cannot agree with the feet not lifting the rear wheel part. Scooping up the back end with your rear foot is essential part of the right technique and part of the reason why you should be learning it with flat pedals. Other than that, top notch vid as expected 👍
ОтветитьPRO TIPS : buy a 1000+ dollar fork
ОтветитьVery useful Tutorial for a Very useful Skill.
ОтветитьGood stuff as always Ben! Thank you for addressing the 'scoop', or lack there of! 👍
ОтветитьSir John supported the slave trade, colonialism, and was a notorious racist. Just thought you should know where your bunny hop dollars are going.
ОтветитьMy goal for 2023 was to learn how to bunny hop, and on 30th of December while some friends were watching I got my first proper bunny hop! Now I'm trying to do it all the time when riding around the city, hopping off the sidewalks etc. I still need to get the timing right and the tip for lifting the front end higher is golden. Hope you all learn new skills this year!
ОтветитьThat megatower is rarther nice
ОтветитьThanks Ben...Sir John and the crew. apparently got into the mushrooms
ОтветитьGoing to try it with my girl. Thx!
ОтветитьОчень круто ребята. Побольше такого контента и обучающих видео. У нас в Сибири -30 но это не останавливает нас и вело-сообщество сделать банник ☕️ Кофе и вперёд 😎🤟🏻
ОтветитьSanta Cruz told me I couldnt get a coil in my hightower ?
ОтветитьRow/anti-row. Come guys get with the program!
ОтветитьSo does it mean I have a problem with my bike? My new frame that requires 160mm fork but I put my 130mm fork temporary and that fork have rebound issues which stucked in fully open. When I Bunnyhop I don’t get the pop really well I don’t know if the reach are just to long for me or the fork just make the bike feel longer because the front of the bike is lower and also I do BMX so my Bunnyhop technique is dialed and I can do Bunnyhop on my past bike which is a XC bike that have short reach and short chainstay
Ответитьthis is the first bunny hop tutorial i watch in 2023
ОтветитьWhile I usually ride with clipless, I do enjoy spending the winter on flats and brushing up on skills like bunny hopping without being able to cheat (and I usually ride bike parks on flats). I learned on flat pedals 40 years ago (feck, I'm old...), so the muscle memory is still there, but sometimes it takes a few minutes for it to come back to me. It's hard to convince some (most) of my friends to ride on flats and sometimes look at me with dismay how I will swap between them almost randomly.
ОтветитьMontana winter is stopping me. :(
ОтветитьBen Cathro is such a wonderful presenter…dialed delivery of needed breakdown of a skill while being fun, entertaining, and personable. Thanks Ben & to the crew that helps make him shine bc it takes a “village!”
ОтветитьSick videos, just watch these for the absolutely amazing patter 😂
ОтветитьOne tip from me: Wear some protection on your shins. Sooner rather than later you WILL hit them and it is pain. If you don't have dedicated shin pads, then anything works. I use old knee pads on my shins when I try to learn the hop
ОтветитьThank you, great video! Now time to practice!
ОтветитьAwesome vid, only thing I differ is about learning to get the back wheel up. Learning to push your body forward to pick the wheel up helps to understand the movement when trying to bunnyhop, also the correct technique of pressing the pedals backwards with the feet really helps to get the bunny hop higher than if you don’t know the technique. Many of my students have an easier time bunnyhopping after they have learnt to pick the back wheel up from the ground ;)
Ответитьthank you Ben
ОтветитьYou mention that a trials bike will be easier to learn on, but it depends on the bike. Competition bikes, which have super long wheelbases, and super long stems and bars, are extremely hard to bunnyhop. Street trials bikes can bunnyhop fine though. Of course, this probably doesn't matter here though.
ОтветитьIt's the "Get out and practice" that is super difficult for me.
