I would love to hear your analysis of NOTHING COMPARES TO YOU by SINEAD O'CONNOR if you haven't already and I missed it. ❤
ОтветитьCandlebox can be best categorized as a bluesy alternative rock band, no real grunge influence.
ОтветитьLizzy Borden - Me against the world.
ОтветитьCouldn’t wait to see your reaction to this song! So glad you mentioned his pop off top screams. He is so good at it. I also appreciate how the grunge era utilized the word yeah.
ОтветитьPLEASE do an analysis of their song, “You”.
ОтветитьI just wanted to throw a suggestion to maybe make a video on the new Opeth album since you already had Periphery, Tool, and dozens of other popular metal bands, and it worked pretty good. It's a concept album, and it's a first Opeth album they've released in 17 years that features the return of metal growls (as well as lots of clean and semi-clean singing Mikael Akerfeldt, the vocalist, has been focusing on during these 17 years)
ОтветитьYou should check out “Jessie” by Paw! They were part of that grunge era as well and actually have lots of country sounding parts in the song lol
ОтветитьOk fun fact about Far Behind. The band recorded this song for an EP or a demo. It got them noticed and a major label then signed them. The label loved the song but wanted them to record it in a professional studio. So they did. When everyone got together to listen to the final studio version they all agreed that it wasn't better than the original. It was missing the raw emotion and grit that made the original what it was. So they trashed the studio version and re-released the original on their studio album. That version is the same version we hear on the radio to this day.
ОтветитьOne of the best songs of the 90s. Totally underrated.
ОтветитьI need a reaction to Dayseeker - Without me or any of their songs really!
Ответить❤
ОтветитьOther great songs from Candlebox's self-titled debut include:
1. You
2. Change
3. Cover Me
4. He Calls Home
Kevin's vocals are so powerful and fitting for this type of music! Please check them out! Would love to see a vocal analysis from at least "Cover Me" and "You."
In one of the first recordings of this song instead of “maybe” the lyric was “Andy”, for Andy wood of Mother Love Bone. It’s heartbreaking to think about how Andy helped shape the music scene in Seattle and how many other musicians he inspired, but didn’t live to see any of it through. So many of his contemporaries went down a similar road as he did and met similar ends.
Ответить@TheCharismaticVoice Other greats from Candlebox's self-titled debut (musically/vocally) include:
1. Don't You
2. Change
3. Cover Me
4. You
5. He Calls Home
Kevin's vocals fit so well with this style of rock! Please check out these other songs, especially "Don't You" and "Cover Me."
Lead singer worked at Kinko's where all the Seattle bañds went to print their flyers so he personally knew and was influenced by the great grunge and punk rock singers. Andy Wood he especially was close to this song was about him and another friend whom he doesn't mention when he told this story.
ОтветитьHello Elisabeth, first of all my congratulations to your 2nd (upcoming) child! Wonderful! I love your channel and your analysis of all these fantastic musicians. But today I realiszed that you've never had Gentle Giant on your list. So for the new year of 2025 I (and I assume many other music fans out there) like to recommend "On Relflection" by Gentle Giant. Who's in?
Best wishes to you and your family (still growing 🙂 )!
Hope the class action lawsuit re PayPal's Honey goes well for you. Saw you have joined it. 👍😁
ОтветитьHis friend Andrew Wood killed himself. That inspired this song.
Ответитьplease please please look into Epic the Musical (a retelling modern opera of Odysseus) by Jorge Rivera-Herrans.
I'd absolutely 1000% recommend Thunder Bringer from Neal Illustrator.
Oh my goddess, your jaw will drop.
Check out Dieantwoord
Ответитьuntil you react to Uriah Heep , and Erra then i will be watching your channel again
ОтветитьGreat critique. And hey from Wenatchee!...That was so cool to hear.
ОтветитьDo a take on Manchester Orchestra’s “The silence”, a beautiful rock opera, you’ll love it, I promise
ОтветитьU should try lamb of god
ОтветитьI would love to see your reaction to King Parrot “ Shit on the liver” or Infected Rain “ because I let you”.
ОтветитьI lived in Wenatchee fer a little while back in the 90's.
ОтветитьDon't sleep on RAIN :)
ОтветитьListen to the whole album. It's really good
ОтветитьPool image = Empty.
ОтветитьI am really, really interested in hearing what you think of Kim Dracula. I'm still trying to figure out what I think about Kim Dracula.
ОтветитьWould you be willing to react to Limp Bizkit in particular Boiler? Fred Durst has such a unique voice that absolutely rocked the late 90s and early 2000s. You've done Korn and Linkin Park and it's such a travesty you havnt done Limp Bizkit yet! Would love for you to do a deep dive on Fred Dursts voice! ❤
ОтветитьLove this band. They are actually a blues/grunge band. The song The Rain will change your world
ОтветитьI just learned you're from Wenatchee after all these years watching your videos. I am from Moses Lake, spent lots of time in Wenatchee.
ОтветитьFor those of you who are Seattle grunge alumni like myself, there is a great video for Chloe Dancer/Crown Of Thorns on the channel mlbloverock that is quite a walk down memory lane of the live music scene in the grunge era. Starts all the way back with Malfunkshun before Mother Love Bone. Such a tight knit music scene back then that was ravaged by heroin. 😢 I’m sure Kevin wasn’t alone with what he vocalized in Far Behind.
ОтветитьThe lead singer is from Illinois so that’s probably why he has a “twang”. You should look review the unedited version of You and Cover Me is fantastic
Ответить"He's adding extra vowels to the single vowel that's there." lol so true. would love to hear more Chris Cornell reactions.
ОтветитьAndrew Wood of Malfunkshun and Mother Love Bone had such an impact on a wide variety of artists. This song, and Would? by Alice In Chains, Chemical Straightjacket by Living Sacrifice, and the entire project of Temple Of The Dog were all made in tribute to him after his passing. I highly recommend you checking out some of Andrew's music from both of his bands. He is one of my favorite singer, songwriters. Andrew, Shawn Smith of Satchel and Brad, and Shannon Hoon of Blind Melon created magic with their voices and instruments. There are still many bands of that era that you have yet to explore.
ОтветитьKevin Martin is absolutely incredible! Still to this day he remains to have a GREAT voice! Candlebox has always been one of my fav groups, and stayed as one of my favs up until they're final show (49'ers Halftime show).
🤘🏼😔🤘🏼🙏🏼 R.I.P (Rock In Peace)
Haz alguna reseña del legendario STEVEN WILSON/ como solista con la canción routine, o con su banda porcupine tree. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙁🙁
ОтветитьSo many subgenre in rock and metal its insane. I agree that some are useful to identify styles, but some of them are so one thing specific or one minor difference and we need a whole new genre to describe. It's all a bit much if you ask me, I feel a lot of bands can be grouped together and just realize the differences are their unique sound, not a whole different genre.
ОтветитьI just saw them live a few years ago. He sounds EXACTLY the same still. And he has so much energy. Stole the show from 3 Doors Down imo!
Ответитьplease analyze their song "it's alright"😀
ОтветитьThis was my favorite song in high school... Such an undervalued band.
ОтветитьFirst band to be signed to Madonnas record label
ОтветитьGrowing up as a teen in the 90s, the term Post grunge was also given by fans of the grunge movement as a type of memoriam. Cause when Kurt Cobain died....... Grunge died with him....... we all placed his memory and music in our "Heart shaped Boxes" and closed it forever......
ОтветитьYou should really listen to the WHAT is being sung
Ответить
