Woman survives brown recluse spider bites after walking into shed in Georgia

Poor woman. I was bit by a brown recluse as a child carrying in wood. I got very sick for 2 days.

Why was she sleeping in a spider infested shed??

Those spiders are dangerous. One bit me and I had to fo to the hospital immediately. It bit me on my stomach. Doctors had to make an incision in the bite, drain it, and packed it. The gauze had to be at least 2 feet long when they packed it. I was in disbelief

Poor thing, my husband‘s buddy got bit on the legs and it took years to heal ate them down to the flash. She was in the hospital At least 4 to 5 times and Now he’s doing better. It’s been like 10 years since it started.

Back in the early 1990’s, as a RN, I cared for a lady who was bitten by a brown recluse. It bit her on her thigh of her left leg. The doctor would debride it numerous times in the OR & we would do dressing changes till she was discharged. Unfortunately it keep spreading & what was a small area became a very large, deep hole in her leg. It was pretty ugly looking! However, her weight & being a smoker did not help in her healing. She would want a nurse to take her outside for a cigarette. I think she became addicted to pain killers. She would ring her call light constantly asking for pain. The doctor recommended she stop smoking but she didn’t. I don’t know what happened to her. I went to work in the Recovery Room, PACU, & never saw her again. People think pain medication is suppose to take the pain away totally. It doesn’t I hope this lady heals from her bite.

They are no joke! I've been bitten by a brown recluse. The bite area got so bad and took almost a year to heal.

My little dog and I were both bit and he screamed and my hip was immediately on fire. The next morning his little chihuahua eyes were swollen shut and his little wrists and ankles were huge but it was his little dog balls…. They were black and the size of plums. He had to have steroid shots and he had a scar on his nose that never went away. I ended up having emergency surgery and it was painful all of it.

One bit my cousin and by the time she was rushed to hospital because she didn't initially feel the bite, the venom had traveled up and thru her leg for which half of the muscle was removed so it looks like she has half a leg. Wishing total healing for this woman who has been thru a lot.🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽❤

I was bitten on my labia by a brown recluse. There are a few glands in that area and they became infected. It was brutal and so painful.

We moved to Richmond Hill Georgia back in 2018. My son was asleep that night and woke up with a bite on his face next to his nose. The swelling was so incredibly bad. The whole left-hand side of his face was Unrecognizable. We rushed him to the doctor, and the doctor declared that he had been bitten by a brown recluse. It was horrible!! He was on all the big antibiotics for a couple months. It ended up leaving a hole in his face, and it took forever for the tissue to grow back and now has a small scar, but it took him forever to recuperate.. every since then we started using Orkin the entire time that we lived down in Georgia and then when we moved back to West Central Ohio we still have Orkin that comes in and sprays every month like we refuse to take any chances

I was bitten by one of those suckers!! In my behind and now I don't have part of my butt cheek anymore 😢😢

When I was young we moved to another state in the middle of no where and there were tons of recluse running around in the upstairs sleeping area with us 4 kids but none of us were ever bitten which amazes me because of how many we had. We got very lucky!

My God father was bitten by one and he had to get the area cleaned out the doctor had to cut a big hole 🕳️ clean the inside of it every few days and it was so painful there was a hole in his back nothing helped the pain swollen it was bad. He got it working in the old shed or chopping wood.

I got bit by a recluse on my leg. They're common in S FL. My whole leg got swollen n ended up with infections randomly popping up across my body for over a yr. Then ended up renting an apt that was infested with them! Found em in my cats' food n water bowls. Had ziploc bags full to prove it to the landlord who didnt believe us (CC Devco sux). Naturally, I'm terrified of spiders now!

Oh holy hell, this poor lady. I had no idea this could happen from ANY spider.

My grandmother was bitten on her arm by a brown recluse. It became inflamed and very red in the shape of a bullseye with discolored rings around the bite. The tissue became necrotic all the way to the bone about 6 inches around the bite. She recovered but had to have a very large area on her arm removed around the necrotic tissue. She was sick and in pain for several weeks. Brown recluse spiders are extremely dangerous!

My brother was bit over 30 years ago, he still has a crater in his calf. He still has to pack and wrap it cuz the oozing never stops.

They are nothing to mess with. My cousin and grandma were bit on the leg by brown recluse spiders. Did a lot of damage. Made them very sick
