Students SIGN the honor code when accepting to come to the school. They are even INTERVIEWED to ensure they commit to live the honor code. Now, I love all people and respect everyone’s free agency to choose, but knowing what the rules and committing to come to this school is a clear statement that one is going to live the honor code. If one is fundamentally against it, I don’t see a reason for coming and committing to live it because these rules are not made by BYU, they are made by the CES(Church Education System) which BYU has not power over. Nonetheless, I’m glad students are safely expressing their opinions without violence; it is a healthy thing to do and I hope they get the support they need.

That moment when you sign the honor code and are even interviewed to fully commit to it... and know the will of God and expect him to change his doctrine while calling it righteousness... I hope the spirit can touch these students to help them find peace while truly committing to follow the honor code.

This is like the people that get married to a real POS and expect they'll be able to change them for the better....never happens. You can't ask to be part of an organization, then get mad at their policies. This school/religion/cult will never/has never loved, cared for, understood, or wanted to do anything but change anyone who thinks differently than the lunatic ravings of a known con-artist that they put on paper and claim to be holy. Leave the cult, and be with the rest of the educated world in a safe place where you are accepted and truly appreciated. This is a college...you are literally paying to be discriminated against.

I will never understand why someone would choose to go to a college that is not in line with their values and then complain about it. No one is forcing these students to forgo relationships, they chose to go to BYU knowing what the honor code was. There are countless Universities that will support the gay lifestyle, there are few that support lds views. Why take away one of the few options these students have?

Sexually misguided crybabies, you are justified in feeling confused by this ridiculous and inconsistent merry-go-round, but fret not. Give BYU a few minutes and they'll cave to the usual PC BS as they always do, if not simply because to avoid negative PR. You'll get your special rights just like you have everywhere else in no time.
