The music in these games is so good too. You got some rap and shit and then you got some some fun punk rock and then the motherfucking ska punk comes in with the horns and shit. Fucking checkered vans and Hawaiian shirts or something. I like how near the end what he was saying coincided with the background music.

Chad muskas pro skater is an extremely short burst of video gaming perfection. Watch this. Bam bam annnnd bada boom I’m in the game. No long ass tutorial. No degenerate unstoppable cutscenes just game. Just good game. Play as the worlds first and only pro skater chad muska as he performs death defying tricks in exchange for VHS tapes. Oh wow! Land before time cool. This is a very immediate accessible arcade style game. you have two minutes to go around the level and skateboard shit. You know, smash through a window with your face, collect giant letters and bring em to Elmo. It’s as simple as that. And the beauty of this game lies in its simplicity. It nails the core skating mechanics so well. The grinding, the going off a half pipe, stringing together combos. It nails these very basic essential elements to deliver that second to second enjoyment ya know. There’s no frustrating boring slumps. The whole game is the good part of the game. You know nowadays game developers, before they’re even done developing the core game they wanna go out and add every single feature from every game they’ve ever seen. It’s like making a pizza and there’s no cheese on it but now they wanna go ahead and add uh mushrooms, then they’re bringing in spinach, uh Peruvian onions from like an underground lair. Sliced banana peppers, and then they’re bringing in some olives, and like uh roast beef. Uh like mosquitos. And then you just have this abomination that nobody should eat and it costs sixty dollars when you could just have a pepperoni pizza. Ya know it’s the simplest thing, everybody loves it, it costs like five dollars, and that’s what this game is and I love it. It’s a mastapiece. I give it a five out of five I love this game.

Just downloaded and played some of the remaster and the whole time I could only think about what Dunko said in this video years ago. The whole game is chill and the whole of it, is the good part of the game. Nothing complicated or overhyped. You skate shit with some sick and chill tunes. “Just game, just good game”

A lot of people don't get why the game has such a short time limit and think that it's some kind of mistake, this saddens me.

Coming back to this video in 2022 and his sentiment about modern game design is even more prevalent. Every copy pasted open world game I play now, they have to have their version of the Witcher sense. First of all, the Witcher sensing sections weren’t fun in the Witcher games. Furthermore, at least they made sense in those games. That shit is only in Horizon and Ghost of Tsushima because some higher up said “Witcher 3 had this, we gotta have it too.” Too many games don’t sit there and ask “is this fun?” They ask “is this something someone else did?” Nintendo is possibly the only exception to this.

I played this religiously when it came out. Dunkey nailed the state of games now, but even so, if a game exactly the same as THPS were to release today, it would still be met with complains like: "it doesn't have multiplayer?!?" "it doesn't have DLC?!?" "these graphics suck" "this isn't realistic"
