I'd suggest btop - arguably better than htop.
Also fzf is a godsend for finding files.
wow bro it;s so helpful
Ответитьvim or neovim or helix
Ответитьnano much is better than vim
ОтветитьI used vi back in the day but on modern computers I'd rather use micro.
Tmux is key. People will ask "what terminal emulator do you use?" And my answer is "as long as it runs tmux, I don't care."
Ranger is a nice file manager
Taskwarrior is incredibly useful for keeping track of projects.
I like exa for making my terminal screenshots look 1337.
And finally, moria for when I get bored.
Try glances instead of htop ;-)
ОтветитьHonestly just install a wm like awsomewm or i3 instead of tmux
ОтветитьHere are some of my recommendations:
🔸micro - newbie friendly vim alternative,
🔸elinks / lynx - text based quicksearch web browser, good for quick retrieval of information on the web without waiting until those graphical resource hoggs launch, also they are eas on the eyes for reading,
🔸cmus / mocp - awesome terminal music players,
🔸ranger / vifm - simple file managers,
🔸midnight commander - old style powerful file commander,
🔸neofetch - gives you quick overall info and stats about yr system
i am having problems installing timetrap on ubuntu linux terminal. the "gem" command is not recognised by ubuntu. i tried to swap it out with sudo apt-get but with no luck. You have the command line code for timetrap installation?
ОтветитьIdk vim is annoying for me so I use "micro" instead, just give it try maybe you will agree with me
ОтветитьMan you lost me with the bitcoin nonsense. Cryptocurrency is nothing but a pump and dump scheme. It has no intrinsic value as a commodity. It burns up a ton of energy with every transaction. The only people interested in bitcoin are criminals and speculators.
Ответитьi find htop ugly. bpytop looks nicer imo
Ответитьexa is my favourite way to list files, for traceroute and ping there is mtr
ОтветитьNice :) Tnx for sharin'
ОтветитьKali Linux - wifiphisher
ОтветитьPls make more such videos
Ответитьyou can split terminal windows in just about every modern terminal emulator without using tmux…
ОтветитьI think, boytop is way much better than htop
Ответитьranger is a great cli file manager written in python so you can even modify it if you really want.
ОтветитьI saw a terminal tool that corrects your command typo by typing "Fuck" any details about it?
ОтветитьIt only takes a minute to learn. lol
Just quitting Vim takes a while to learn.
For most things, pico AKA nano editor is even faster to load.
ОтветитьBut you didn't mention, disk recovery tools like TestDisk.
ОтветитьNice. Subscribed. After Disk Utility screwed up my partitions, thinking of switching back to Linux. These all give a sense of control and confidence lacking on other platforms.
Ответитьcowsay wasn’t mentioned.
Ответитьif you like tmux it's probably best to just change your whole setup to keyboard bindings like tiling window managers do

OK, who shouted "Control B D" at the screen when he used the Close Window X button with his mouse?
Ответитьnano is better then vim, fight me.
ОтветитьYall a bunch of skiddies
ОтветитьThank you for this good video. I failed to install TMUX on my iMac M1 machine and of course with macOS Monterey 12.0.1. Can you help, please?
Ответитьdid the bearded guy copy you or did you copy his video?
I like micro and mocp a lot. I wish micro would partner with wordgrinder, since if those 2 were combined, the resulting program would make an excellent writing/doc tool. I will soon try vlc in terminal, because some of my playlists only seem to work in vlc.
fuck vim. I cannot be bothered i would rather stick with nano
ОтветитьWell, emacs is the one tool to rule them all. Use shell and dired in within emacs and write own extensions in elisp if packages do not meet the requirements for your needs.
Ответить"App" ...
Ответитьbtop++
ОтветитьNano > VIM
ОтветитьI like it
Ответитьthe tmux is useful and all but kinda pointless imho when you have a dinamic tiling window xD
ОтветитьVim is difficult to learn.
Ответитьso good
ОтветитьIM IN LOVE WITH TMUX THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ответитьsomeone needs to do a video on how many videos are done on the same dang thing OVER N OVER N OVER N OVER N OVER N OVER N OVER N O NO NONONONONONONOK
ОтветитьI pressed 'like' after htop and 'subscribe' after 'ncdu' and "I may make another video". Waiting for Linux utils. TY!
ОтветитьWhat's the point of wearing cap while sitting in you house?
ОтветитьTry fish terinal . You'll love it.
ОтветитьJust simply if you are in ubuntu ore debian base best backup app called system recovery its create live installer for you and for multiple terminal i recommend to use tilix or terminator which is the best terminal emulater
Ответить
