one of America's great weakness is very high annual maintenace costs.. i sau better to have a slightly simple cheaper device that is easy to replace on the battlefield and easy to replace if completely destroyed
Ответитьabout the submarines: 3 distinct times, in exercises blues vs reds, 1 Swede, 1 Italian and 1 French submarine "sunk" an US carrier in middle of it's "protective detail", also sinking secondaries targets...
about the Leclerc, the buying cost is valued at 8,5M € , and the maintenance cost is at 350k €/year (according to Wikipedia). The main point of the Leclerc are: high mobility, persistent targeting (the canon still accurately point the selected target while on the move) and auto loading allowing for a 3 men crew instead of the classic 4 men. Note: given how the antitank modern ammunition, high mobility may be better than heavier armor. But it also depend on them being used with this tactic and not as "slow" mobile fort.
the f35 program and its cost in fact funded THREE different aircraft/airframes. its not that gargantuan a cost for air supremacy. it truly doesnt matter what civilians think on the cost of national security. those in society incapable of defending people shouldnt have an opinion on national security or our ability to wage war.
ОтветитьSo... what I learned:
Main battle tanks are most expensive land equipment
Aircrafts are more expensive then tanks. Jet fighters are more expensive then helicopters.
And naval vessles are the most expensive. Subs and aircraft carriers being at the very top.
I figured the usa would be the most common on this list.
But Im suprised France is in second place
Why is the B2 not in the list?
Ответить❤️🇺🇸 born in The usa
ОтветитьF-22 will probably be needed in near perior battle
ОтветитьWhy maintenence is so expensive idk. They payed my squadron mates and I very poorly.
ОтветитьInteresting that the B2 stealth bomber isn't on the list? I know it's being replaced by the B21 but it's still in Active Duty and if I remember correctly costs over $1 Billion apiece
ОтветитьThat one guy looks like Art Garfunkel
ОтветитьI have no issue with tax increases to make our military dominant. I do however have a big issue with handing my tax dollars to social welfare programs. I do believe in a short-term benefit program for people down on their luck, but lifelong beneficiaries is reckless and prone to fraud.
ОтветитьWhen I retire and social security no longer exists, I’m sure I’ll look back at all this and say it was worth it
ОтветитьI always considered the infographic show to be a cartoon version of the show Modern Marvels.
ОтветитьActually, average for F-35 is 95 million. Most countries buy the A model, which is around 85 million
ОтветитьNot a good comparison.
Should have made like- Most expensive land based weapon, Sea based weapon and Air based weapon
The M1 Abrams came about as a result of the failure of the MBT-70 project. Creighton Abrams, the namesake of the Abrams, wanted a replacement for the M60 Patton. It has the same powerplant as the Soviet/Russian T-80.
A gas turbine engine.
By the cartoons hairline the cost was high very high
ОтветитьMostly NATO gear. And the Ruskies think they stand a chance.
ОтветитьThe Abrams armour was developed in the UK and was provided to the US, you also missed the Queen Elizabeth class which is the second most expensive behind the Ford class
ОтветитьYet universal healthcare in the United States is too expensive 😑
ОтветитьReally far off on some of these prices. The F-35C, the most expensive, is $94.4M per airframe. I think maybe you included a year or two of maintenance costs? Not really sure where that $120M average came from. Not to mention that you missed more expensive US fighters, such as the F-15EX. Also, no bombers? The per aircraft cost of the B-2 was over $1B iirc. Zimwalt destroyers should also probably be on this list. This is also very west centric, though I can understand that it is difficult to find a reliable price on PRC and Russian stuff. I’d also recommend differentiation between program cost and per unit cost. MAJOR difference.
ОтветитьAnd…love the commentator. Excellent voice to listen too. Please. DO NOT change
ОтветитьThis is what it looks like when governments have open wallets. Not saying some of this isn’t needed. But man. What a ton of cash changing hands. For violent items. Just wow. That said. I would LOVE my own Ripsaw!! WhooHoo!!
ОтветитьWhat about the B-2. I believe each one is 1.2 billion dollars
ОтветитьB-2??
ОтветитьThis show be titled 10 expensive and not 10 most expensive cause there are a ton of weapons like the b2 and the zumwalt that should be on the list and aren't
ОтветитьFreedom is never given it's earned or taken!
ОтветитьThe Nimitz class super carrier was also a disaster and billion dollar boondoggle in the beginning because of similar issues of new tech and creating the first large scale production (meaning many ships were to be built) nuclear powered super carrier. Plus that one time it time traveled and you know how expense it is to buff out that timewhimy build up.
ОтветитьMight as well include Russia's Admiral Kuznetsov
Ответить"the Ohio class submarine"💀
ОтветитьI love how Americans still argue “we need the right to bare arms to protect our selfs from the government” when the governments don’t need to send people in anymore
ОтветитьI understand that the Eurofighter Typhoon is expensive, but it is not a 4th gen fighter anymore but more like a 4.5th gen fighter. Its new radars, sensors and its weapons(For example the Meteor missile) after the upgrades made this fighter jet to be in the top 5 in the world together with the Rafale and with the Gripen… and to be fair with you I would take the Eurofighter Typhoon over all of the fighter jets in the world right now and if I needed to choose a 5th gen Stealth Fighter jet I would take the the F-35B and F-22 Raptor together. Both are masterpiece. These 3 are my top 3 favourite ones in the world, and nothing comes even close to these 3 in my opinion. Not even the joke SU-57 "Felon" or the Chinese(Made in China) J-20 "Mighty Dragon" :)
Ответить👍👏
ОтветитьCouple critiques of this video:
- The Eurofighter being Europes F-35 is hilarious. The F-35 is Europes F-35. Eurofighter is more in the weight class of the F-15 or F-16.
- Your Leclerc math was wonky and I still don't understand what you we're trying to say
- More consistency when stating the original price and they adjusted price would have been nice.
Other than that, great video!
Wouldn't all 10 of these be ships and aircraft in reality?
I mean, I guess keeping the video interesting is good, but should have maybe done:
top 3 tanks, top 3 missles, top 3 ships, top 3 aircraft etc.
What about Zumwalt for instance
Wow, your F-35 numbers are waaay off. The total is 1.7 trillion, not 3, and that is over the lifetime of the program (50 years or so). The cost per plane is; F-35B- 120 million, F-35C- 100 million, and the F-35 A, about 80 million. Not to mention these prices will get lower as more are produced. Compared to the British Typhoon cost of about 120 million each, this is not too bad. It's time to quit picking on the Lightning 2...☺
ОтветитьSo no Chinook? Blackhawk? Apache? Helicopters are pretty dang expensive haha.
ОтветитьThe abrams composite armour came from the british Chobham/Dorchester armour
ОтветитьI guess the b1 and the b2 don't exist
ОтветитьThe new not a light tank in the US Army is reported to cost $10.5 million each.
ОтветитьAmerican weapons will be the most expensive because everyone hates them
Ответить🙃
ОтветитьQueen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers come in at £3.8bn ($4.7bn) each.
Ответитьnice video, but bad list tbh. Should the list just be all ships?
ОтветитьKind of mind blowing that we basically send Ukraine the equivalent of a Ford aircraft carrier every few months.
ОтветитьThis is my fav channel
ОтветитьI love how they got the Landing gear backwards for the F35
ОтветитьThe Abrahm secret composite armour was created by British for the challenger tanks. At least get the little details right.
