Any child can be "groomed" into a prodigy. Clearly, the parents intended for this before he could even talk or walk.

I’m not sure if the boy can be a child when he after school practices 3 hours every day.

It has been proven, that if you make a child perform a certain action, over a certain period of hours, from a very young age, you get so called "prodigies", same with gymnastics/tennis/golf... Andre Agassi's father worked this out, made Andre hit x amount of balls per day from toddler hood....voila...there you have a champion.. I think it is very flawed and I experience no joy watching these "prodigies", as I think about all the hours they had to perform as children and not be allowed to do childish things..I rather watch someone play with mistakes, but they learnt because they LOVED doing the activity. It is a different energy, and you can feel their joy.

What needs to be ascertained is whether this kid is using rote memory (which the Chinese are excellent at because of their language which lacks an alphabet) or is this kid really musically talented. There is a reason why most great composers are from nations whose language uses an alphabet.
I think he is like a player piano.

Aha! Kind of a male, Asian version of American composer Florence Price (gave her 1st piano performance at age 4).

I practiced for years and never came close to getting that good.

They met with Juilliard? For what? What can they possibly teach him at this point? He’s doing fine all on his own. That was a flawless performance at Carnegie Hall! They just want to claim credit for developing talent that is naturally in him already. Mom, dad just keep doing what you’ve been doing. You don’t need a fancy school for this child. I believe he can train himself watching the great. He has the ear and passion and keen sense of touch. Quite apparent and obvious.

A poor child without any childhood...., forced to exercise every day by his parents....
There are existing many cases like this one in the U.S.A. and at other places in the world....
