My sister has done wild life rehab now for about 25 to 30 yrs. Has taken care of every kind of wild animal in wisc. She gets calls from 2 counties when they have animals injured that need help or abandoned. In most cases they can be releasted back into the wild. But a few can never be releasted they will not servive. In that case she ends up with a perminant family member. She has good chunk of land fenced in for them to live out there lives.
These animals are can get very attached to her as well as she does to them. But unless they can never be put back in the wild they are not pets.
How ever the ones that cant be leasted are family to her and you go to visit them you can expect a squirl or raccoon to scamper up to meet you as you are sitting around talking. Even the deer are left in if they come to the door. Just like a dog does.
Amazing thing is they get no government funds to off set the costs its all out of pocket.
Just a animal lover big time

Gosh Thor has grown so fast. I have mommy and baby who visit me every 3 days. Mommy use to come and eat carrots and apples that I would lay out for her. Then one day she brought her baby to show me, that was a few months ago. Baby is as big as mommy now. Since I do live in the city they are nervous cause of traffic and people. They are beautiful to watch !!! I leave water out for them cause the river is close and I don't want them crossing the street , safer to leave fresh water out then seeing them going across River Road to get water. So sweet of you to take care of Thor which is your son now. God Bless you

This must be a very special time for you to have this relationship with this wildlife group. Enjoy and treasure it. Most people never get this opportunity in life. I used to live in the mountains and the country. We had all kinds of animals . Horses, deer, raccoons and others so I understand how special it is. Nice video.
