MTV's Downtown did manage to create another little show from the same people, maybe for younger viewers, a little little cartoon show...
that was called MEGAS XLR!!!!
How?! How were both shows not noticed & loved?! How did they remain so hidden...
Movie still isnt out..
ОтветитьSorry, when did Pete Williams change his name to Chris? 7 minutes into your video, I guess?
ОтветитьTheme is fire
ОтветитьStill waiting on that movie.
ОтветитьThank your for making this video!
Much appreciated!

I always thought the “gimpy” character was so dumb, because he doesn’t have any character traits that make it necessary for him to look like a weird mutant freak among otherwise normal characters. He’s just an opinionated nerd, who is weird but generally conducts himself like a normal person.
It makes sense now that the main characters are simplistic caricatures a high schooler made of his friends, that a show was eventually built around.
If there's one adult cartoon that deserves a revival, its Queer Duck.
ОтветитьWhat does the M stands for ? in MTV
Ответитьfafsa >:(
ОтветитьWell, 2 years later and the movie looks to be dead again.
ОтветитьI remember randomly stumbling across this series at like 12:30am while flipping through channels one night and it instantly becoming one of my favorites.
ОтветитьCollege cartoons has me also thinking of Chicago, IL 🌻💌💛
ОтветитьDamn this brings back memories, I remember randomly finding this on netflix back when it was disk only and binging the entire series in a weekend back in college.
ОтветитьI discovered this show in 2003 from late night Comedy Central. I was so mad when I found out it was already cancelled and there were only 13 episodes.
ОтветитьDay 2 of asking pan to review code mokeys
ОтветитьDeath Match forever .
ОтветитьMan, this TV show was surely ahead of its time....
ОтветитьIn a bizarre way I'm kind of glad the television show only lasted freshman year. It says a lot about what college actually is that first year is all fun and tearor but after that things dull out, lose there rose scent things just happen. You don't even know the time has passed.
ОтветитьUm I think there is one episode they did mention quake game though hmm 🤔 I wonder the original quake is still around?
Ответитьwe need a vid on MTV's Downtown
ОтветитьChina IL is also a cartoon about college life.
ОтветитьMan whered you get this HD footage?
ОтветитьWhy tf do I get weird nostalgic feelings from the 90’s when I was born in 2003
ОтветитьSo euhm lets not be a jackass but i dont like this show
The story is too focused on Nitz, leaving the others being defined mostly by the SAME jokes, Rocco is stupid, Carl has sex, Gimpy is a nerd (jokes that i dont find funny but whatever). Nitz is unbearable with his love thing but im okay with it, the thing that fucks it up is that the love story develops itself at the end so quickly, nothing builds up (kind of the same problem with Clone high though) Its not hard hitting, hes not seeing the consequences of his actions, just one with jessie, his other friends are okay with it (and by what the click says, it has always been like that, Nitz was always in love and others always went with it) . Also every characters are the fucking same by the end. The movie will be... at the best meh, cauz nothing has been build up, the only thing that matters is Nitz and theres not much to do if he does "realizes actions have consequences" (which he doesnt, he doesnt says anything, he just lays on a roof with a smile lmao) Either the movie changes everything to create a story and doesnt have the same feel as the serie, either he doesnt change anything and it wont give a satisfying ending
And no the serie doesnt "understand his characters dynamics". The click itself isnt this group of friends that is there for each other, Rocco fucking hates Cal. And why the fuck does Nitz finds Jessie hot, is he in love? Is she? The serie doesnt seem to know. Love doesnt work in this serie and its a bummer cauz its focused around it.
Also we dont care the serie is in college, the serie doesnt do a lot with the thing, just some jokes, but some of the themes can already be seen in stuff happening in high school (AHAH CLONE HIGH IS BETTER)
A lot of these shows were definitely ahead of their times
ОтветитьWHEN'S THE MOVIE
ОтветитьChina, IL takes place in college
ОтветитьI have a mechanical pencil and the lead never breaks, The duggler.
ОтветитьDude! I just found your channel, and got hit with a rush of nostalgia. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has those warm cozy feelings of early 2000's adult animation
ОтветитьI remember playing telltales games tWTD 400 days and thinking Nate looks just like Vinny
ОтветитьDid ... did you really make lewds of characters based on your friends O.o
ОтветитьMan that intro with the block buster and all the shots of stuff in his room while he sets up for the review is cool as hell, he should definitely add more stuff like that in future vids it adds alot to the 2000s mall rat Internet nerd aesthetic that makes his stuff so unique
ОтветитьI know this vid is like a year old now but undergrads creeped its way into my recommendations where I eventch found this video. I have seen some of ur vids in the past but never thought much of it. I can now see that you have some serious talent and incredible skill put into these videos which makes me want to sub. I love the style and way you go about doing your videos in such a unique way. If Scott the Woz can get his own tv show, I think ur type of video is even better suited for that. Literally so good and thank you and will be watching the rest of your videos.
ОтветитьI really miss this era of cartoons that tried to be different. Undergrads, Mission Hill, Downtown. And all of them got fucked over by the network before they were ever given a chance. 2 of them straight from MTV.
ОтветитьI actually remember seeing this show on Teletoon
ОтветитьI only now realize how truly great my childhood was in the 2000's growing up with shows like this, modern cartoons are good and all but there's something about this era of comedy and cartoon style that really holds up over the years. This and Clone High were some of my favourite shows.
ОтветитьI found the show throw an offshoot reference, and i found the show to be a guilty pleasure show. I say that because i think the shot was quite cool and a neat take. and was pretty clean.i think honestly i really disliked nitz and how he carried himself (no disrespect to pete, who seems like a cool guy, but i know is who nitz is based off of), which is funny because im sure in highschool and early college he would have been super relatable. And i think thats why i found nitz to be insufferable to me. He reminded me of who i was, and who i no longer wish to be. Because the passive self pity, that was honestly hypocritical. Was nitz exactly that? idk. But thats how i viewed him.
but i think that kind of becomes a good thing. I think it was implied that he learns that hes been a jerk, and that the show would let him keep growing and learning. but if the shoes canceled we cant really see that can we. And i think that would have been really cool to explore that, theyre in college, its normal for them to be foolish, immature, and a bit of a jerk. college is where many people grow, and it would have been really cool to show that.
High school in Japan on the other hand..
ОтветитьI’m still mad that Clone High, the Critic,Mission Hill, the Oblongs and Clerks TAS get canceled way too soon along with Baby Blues,God the Devil and Bob and Dan vs
ОтветитьWait… Pan pulled a Chris Chan?
ОтветитьUndergrad deserved 5 seasons and a movie
ОтветитьThat the opening theme was going to be done by Blink-182 makes a ton of sense. This show just looks like what you'd get if Dammit was an animated series.
