The opening narration was one of the most creepy and memorable things that I saw in my childhood, especially with its animation
ОтветитьIf I'm remembering this right, Shen's original backstory was that his parents were actually pretty neglectful and that the soothsayer was his caretaker and the only true parental figure he had as a child and, even after everything that happendd, he still had, and would always have, a soft spot for her.
I grew up absolutely loving the kung fu panda movies with all my heart. I really can't choose which one is my favourite when it comes to the first and second movies. I love them both equally.
kung fu [anda 2 is my favourite one of the 4 films. the only thing i dont like is how visually dark it is.
ОтветитьSo, little fun fact: the scene where Shen denounced his parents (“the dead exist in the past…”) was animated by Pierre Perifel, who directed The Bad Guys! He won a well-deserved Annie Award for that scene.
ОтветитьNo jack black pop song cover 1/10 because the "wow that's a lot of stairs" scene was pure cinema
ОтветитьMR PING SWEEP MR PING FOREVER
ОтветитьI tought about the warrior of black and white will bring his downfall. He is a white peacock that uses black gunpowder. He is basicaly white warrior with black.
He brings his own destruction. I think po was just reflection of what Shen is not.
Fun fact: Po did not fulfill the prophecy of Shen’s death. Shen cut the support. Po would not need to try to stop him, thus Shen would not cut the supports. Those who try to prevent destiny, fulfill their destiny. ie. Anakin trying to stop Padmé’s destiny, thus, she had her destiny fulfilled by someone trying to prevent her destiny.
ОтветитьRecently watched Abominable, it's a great film by dreamworks, it also doesn't have a romantic subplot, it's not predictable at any means, just wanted to point that out because kung fu panda aint the only dreamsworks franchise without a romantic subplot
ОтветитьWarrior of Black and White isnt a panda, its Shen
ОтветитьShen died by his cannon
Not a mast
I really like you’re analysis. I appreciate and respect your intrigue and passion for cinema.
Ответитьcant wait for the kung fu panda 3 retrospective in 2030!
ОтветитьThis film would have been a perfect ending to Kung Fu Panda. Just cut the final scene out of the film with the Panda Village..
I honestly had zero interest in Kung Fu Panda 3 as it felt like a cash grab and not a genuine conclusion. 3 didn't need to exist. It and the final scene kind of rob some of the most traumatic scenes of this film of their bite.
Similar thing happened to Gundam 08th MS Team having a great climax/ending one of the absolute best honestly with episode 11, only to have a post credit scene ruin it and additional episode later destroying it.
My favorite movie of ALL time!
ОтветитьDo a video on kung fu panda 3
ОтветитьI read somewhere that the soothsayer raised shen idk
ОтветитьAnyone who said Kung Fu Panda 2 is better than 1 he's the dumbest guy in the human lives
Ответитьas someone who can't stand looking at the color red due to how much of a bright color it can be, this movie knew how to blend the red coloring and shading very impressively well.
when done right, the color red can portray such an intense look and tone to any scene.
just watching any red scene in this movie made me not want to look away from it because of how wonderful it all blends.
The fight choreography is my favorite part of the film by far. They took advantage of how silly animation can be while also utilizing the characters’ skill set, personalities, size, and characteristics to make their fighting unique in every way.
ОтветитьI honestly think that KFP3 isn't as good as 1 and 2 but it is a really powerful movie when it is strong like when it's revealed that Li lied to Po and the ending and the destruction of the jade palace and Po's arch in it is really good and is much better than KFP4
ОтветитьJust wanted to say that I absolutely love the super paper Mario background music 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
ОтветитьI don’t think they should have killed off Shifu in the first movie. Even though he doesn’t have much to do in the sequels, I think it’s better if he can move on from what happened with Tai Lung. Plus, his line about how the day Po got here was the worst day of his life is pretty much the funniest line in the movie
ОтветитьI think the warrior of black and white is actually Shen, as he brought about his own demise
ОтветитьFor me at least, the second KFP movie is slightly better than the first due to it having a theme that can't be found many other places. The "be yourself" trope is really overdone imo, so when we get a message like "your traumas and bad experiences doesn't define you" in a CHILDRENS MOVIE, it speaks volume to the genius at Dreamworks
ОтветитьChen is literally frieza
He tried to eradicate an entire race to prevent a warrior that will end his cruel rule
Yet his actions is what created said warrior
Master Rhino: "You're no match for our kung fu."
Shen: "you're right...but this is." Pulls out a gun
After watching this now I want to watch kung fu panda 1-3.
ОтветитьThese movies have no right to be this good. The scene at the end with the cannonballs is pure awesome.
ОтветитьI think he got it…
ОтветитьBeing reminded that scene exists, where Po finds inner peace and remembers his past, makes the other sequels look like a dumpster fire even if they are somewhat competent animations.
ОтветитьFun Fact: the color red in color theory represents pain, so, in a narrative sense, no matter where Shen goes, His pain is always with him because he never lets it go.
ОтветитьI watched this as a kid and looking back now, I really love the way it depicts PTSD and can appreciate it now as an adult with it. Something in Po’s memory had been itching at him, stopping him from progressing in life and achieving the next step in his training, only for Shen’s army to rip that memory from suppression and throw him into unstable territory; flashbacks, the freeze response, etc. It’s kind of fascinating how well they depict the effects of early childhood PTSD
This paired with Shen — someone plagued with his past grief that he almost outright refuses to get over, is a beautiful contrast. He prefers to hold vendettas against his family and the weak because it’s easier than examining himself. Sunk cost fallacy, he’s already killed this many, he can’t be redeemed now lol
Po chose to get better, chose to work through it and overcome something horrifying and chose to spare the man that inflicted the trauma to begin with. Po got better and Shen died having lived a resentful life.
It’s honestly really refreshing compared to how other media makes it out to be “the sad, tragic disorder that garners pity, not sympathy”
nah it’s trash
ОтветитьMan... this video made me cry, making me re-live the movie which has been years since I've last watched it
ОтветитьI often feel like some sequels, even if they surpass the original in their themes, dont often feel as strong, just because they build on the original and are often less able to stand on their own because of that
ОтветитьAnother underrated aspect of this movie is the environmentalism. That lies between the Valley of Peace's natural beauty and Gongmen City's polluted economy. The way this theme is delivered encourages the audience to weigh the pros and cons of innovation and preservation.
ОтветитьMan, Kung fu Panda 2 is a masterpeice, It is one of my favourite movies of all time. The music and animation is in perfect harmony, I've listened to the soundtrack so many times, there are so many scenes that are just perfect. God knows how many times i've rewatched it by now.
ОтветитьLet's see the Kung Fu Panda villains
The Peak of Kung Fu
A warlord with control over life energy and the death
A shape shifter
GUN
Baby Po is just too damn adorable.
ОтветитьShen has a connection to tai lung as even he was black and white. That is why tai lung was left.
ОтветитьBro nobody is gonna argue that Kung Fu Panda 2 was not a worthy
sequel. It was Oscar nominated xD
