Great video. I'll give these drills a try.
I have the yips. It's an involuntary twitch of the right hand, just before impact. And it's so debilitating. I have to putt left handed just to get around the course and it's hard to see the line from that side of the ball.
I will believe somebody has a cure for the yips when a former yipper is giving the lesson.
ОтветитьYips are neurological. Between the ears. Psychological. If u never had it u dont understand it. You dont have yips when youre practicing
ОтветитьBrilliant lesson. Started a twitch just like this months ago. Off to the putting green tomorrow.
ОтветитьJust watched your video. I sometimes suffer from putting yips. It rears its ugly head anytime I get to thinking I must make this one or that one. Just this past week in the club championship I reached a par 5 in two shots and had an up hill 40 footer. Ran the first putt by about 6 feet, then missed the next putt and ran it by 3’. Then left the third putt short. Four putt bogey. Pressure mounted on the first putt because I wanted to not leave the putt short. The second putt I was very nervous on and yipped it. The third putt I almost missed the ball by decelerating into it then bumping it and leaving the three footer short. I’ll try your drills but when people like myself place extreme importance on putting, it usually goes sideways for us. I’m tired of having 40 putts per round.
ОтветитьI can square cut and 4 putt a 1 footer lol low handicappper and love pressure. Super reliable under pressure in other sports and was once in golf. make it make sense lol
ОтветитьI'd pay a lot of money to take my yips away. Can putt like a king on the putting green and as soon im in competition they come on. Have switched to right handed putting (I play lefty) and im getting better at it. But my left handed putting used to be the best part of my game
ОтветитьLooks like his misses are to the right almost ever time
ОтветитьI've been playing 25 years, about 6 years ago, i had to change to a long putter to change my putter game.. new start ...
It will be in your soul till the day u die, and you'll still miss putts under pressure, but a change will help for a bit....
What a great video. Thanks so much. Im in Australia and have the yips and not enjoying the game because of those 3 foot puts. Yesterday on one hole I was on for 2 and had an 8! Going down tomorrow with a couple of tees to see if I can sort it out. Thanks again Brendon
ОтветитьAwesome!
ОтветитьI’m not sure that you can quite understand a yip unless you’ve had them yourself. He kept saying to you “no that wasn’t a yip” but you said “oh but the face opened”. That tells me you don’t know what a yip is.
ОтветитьI had putting then chipping yips. No problems practicing but then midway through round yips would creep in. The problem for me is I was fighting the natural motion of the putter and wedges. Changing to a claw grip helped but this is just masking the problem.
ОтветитьWill your content is really helpful. Please keep posting more videos !
ОтветитьLike the stagger step and the 3 second pause, awesome stuff.
ОтветитьGreat stuff I've been struggling for a while can't wait to try some stuff.
ОтветитьYou Brits. That is 23 minutes of talking for the brilliant 3’ putt routine. Should have taken 3 minutes. You guys love hearing yourself talk.
ОтветитьI really like the do this and this - 90% of YT golf Vid's are Don't do this don't do that, it creates a problem in golfers subconsciously end up doing the Don'ts because it is ingrained as the first msg in the Video, at the end of the day its all about Good Communication and NOT excessive BLAH BLAH, the Americans are really bad at BLAH BLAH - personal Opinion!!!
ОтветитьExcellent video. I have the chipping yips. Could you recommend a practice routine for chipping please.
ОтветитьHow crazy is this I just had Alan out for his first playing lesson the day we launch the five. Made 4 or 4 putts from 4,5,5 and 6 ft today. No more yips.
