Hmmm. I was really hoping to see something suggesting that they are expanding the mythology. It's really all you can do since they don't have a charismatic antagonist. Unfortunately this looks like the first movie over again. :/

I predict the film ends with the MC getting possessed and then suicided by the demon inside her on stage during a live televised show giving the Smile Demon millions of victims to torment. If it can possess all of those hosts at the same time, it's an end of the world scenario.
