Deeply culturally and humanly important. See it.
ОтветитьOne of my favourite movies ♥
ОтветитьI watched the movie in two sections, and I just finished watching it. A very touching movie. The ending was particularly touching. The protagonist lost his job as a cellist and had to take a job as an undertaker for a living. While that might seem a decline in social status, but the protagonist only learned about the true meaning of life, built meaningful and lasting connections with the people around him and earned their respect after he became an undertaker. His wife came back to him; the friend who told his wife and daughter to avoid him came to sincerely respect him; he forgave his father who left him and his mother three decades ago. Through doing his job with utmost dignity, the protagonist touched the heart of evryone he came into contact with. It is a very touching ending. This is my second time watching it and I felt even more touched than the first time.
ОтветитьI loved…. This movie when I first saw it some time ago. Very poignant. So happy to find it here so I can comment on how meaningful it was to me. The storyline and actors are excellent. Such a great storyline. 🌈🌻👏🏼

ОтветитьAt the 32nd Japan Academy Prize ceremony held in February 2009, Departures dominated the competition. It received a total of thirteen nominations, winning ten, including Picture of the Year, Screenplay of the Year (Koyama), Director of the Year (Takita), and Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role (Motoki).[124] In the Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role category, Hirosue lost to Tae Kimura of All Around Us, while in the Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction category Departures's Tomio Ogawa lost to Paco and the Magical Book's Towako Kuwashima. Hisaishi, nominated for two Outstanding Achievement in Music awards, won for his scoring of Studio Ghibli's animated film Ponyo.[48] In response to the wins, Motoki said "It feels as if everything miraculously came together in balance this time with Okuribito".[m][4
ОтветитьThis is a wonderful movie. EVERYONE should see it. So much tenderness, understanding and love. Thanks from the bottom of my heart for this opportunity.
ОтветитьBeautiful movie in every sense
ОтветитьExcellent movie. Every one must see this.
ОтветитьWhen the town people and the protagonist's wife first learned of what he did, their first reaction was disdain and they all told him to get a normal job. What was a normal job in these people's eyes? They looked to people with special talent, i.e., the talent to play a cello, with admiration, but they showed no respect for a person who had a job they themselves wouldn't do. That's irrational attitude of hostility directed towards another person, and that's precisely what prejudice is.
Whether it is playing the cello in an orchestra or being an undertaker and preparing the deceased for a peaceful departure, life is never perfect, the most important thing is to live on, to be a person of value, a person that makes a contribution to the society. I think that is an important message this movie tries to convey. I like this movie. This is my second time watching it.
🤧🤧🤧
ОтветитьThe music for this movie was composed by Joe Hisaishi. As expected, it is a very delicate and emotional work.

ОтветитьAs a buddhist nun I have profound gratitude to watch such a creative tender film that presents this truth..the circle of life and death..and All that sentient beings experience in recognizing both as passages. Thank you..to all who made this production ...Arigato . 🙏
ОтветитьGreat script and acting. And emotinal music. It's one of my favorite movies.
The music is by Joe Hisaishi, who has composed scores for many Studio Ghibli films.
Thank you for uploading.
when a person is dead, impossible to bend thier bone,
ОтветитьI cannot stop my tears at the ending. 😮💨🥲
So I hope this movie brings a lesson to the fathers who abandoned their children and children hating their father in return for not being a part of their lives growing up.
Do something to communicate, let each other know that you care before it's too late.
I have two sons who don't know my thoughts about them. I have fear whether they could know it after I am gone as the movie “Departures”. it is sad.
ОтветитьTo all children around the world who grew up without a parent or parents, physically or emotionally, please know that there is a parent out there that always pray for you and love you. Keep your head up, keep walking with a smile on your face. Know that you're loved. You're a lovely human being with strong and kind heart. And, you too have a purpose in this life. You have done really well so far and I am so proud of you ❤🎉😘
ОтветитьWhat a very nice movie. My son passed away 10 years ago, 2014. He was also cremated. My regrets is that we did not dress him properly. He was cremated wearing the gown from the hospital.
My mind was clouded with so much grief that we had not think to dress him properly for his burial. I AM SORRY MY DEAR SON.
I cried hard watching this film especially at the end part where the son giving the postmortem care to his estranged father, knowing that the father treasured the loved - stone he had given to him when he was a child.
Thank you for this great movie.
ОтветитьThe director is obsessed with death. I rather celebrate life while alive.
ОтветитьI am lost for words😪
ОтветитьA film so full of life's wisdom. Painfully beautiful ❤
ОтветитьNever forgot this movie. Seen it the first time about 10 yrs ago
Ответитьone of the best films i have watched. ❤
Ответитьbeautiful!
ОтветитьI shared this with loved ones this movie was very special
