Identify Wildlife with Seek by iNaturalist // Fast and Easy Plant and Animal Species Identification

Seek is an amazing app. I love identifying and learning about the wildlife around me. I highly recommend Seek and iNaturalist apps.

How are you able to get it to identify so quickly? I often get sick on the last step or two before getting the exact species. Maybe i have to uninstall and redownload the app.

I don't feel like I need to get to know the natural world more because that's not what I get out of it. What I get out of it is the way that it inspires my imagination. When my imagination is replaced with trivia bullet point style facts the imagination is weakened.

The app makes me uneasy. The data in the wrong hands could easily be used for environmental exploitation.

I love this app and have learned a lot from it however in my experience it is finicky.. I rarely get a speedy identification. I have to take photo after photo and try different angles and frequently I have to give up and try a photo of something else. I've cleaned my camera lens and don't know what else I can do. Does it matter that I have an Android phone?

Hi! Do you use iPhone 13? Is it able to identify very small objects like little bugs, when you need to get veeery close to them? I have problems with it on iPhone 14 pro, it just doesn’t focus, because its main camera has a big focusing distance and it doesn’t switch to a macro mode either, so I haven’t been able to identify insects, while it worked very great on my old 6s which been able to macro focus with its main lens. Do you have same issue on your phone?

I've also used it to identify flowers for the wife that she saw and wanted to try and grow her own.
