Just purchased a new Ryzen Framework 13 (hope to get it soon.....) to replace a Macbook pro with burned ssd and out of warranty (need to replace the entire motherboard....)
It's one of the best engineered products I've seen so far.
How does it go with Linux on it? No laptop is good enough to subject myself to windows…
ОтветитьIt has been a while since I've looked into anything Framework related. Love their Laptops and how they go about it. I do hope to get one someday in the future. 😎👍
ОтветитьI just got in the Framework 13th gen 13" laptop as I wanted to try it out - even knowing that they were coming out with a 16" laptop shortly.
After I opened the box and removed the parts, I checked Framework's web site and noticed they had the 16" AMD laptops available with GPU modules - immediately placed an order.
Super excited to support a company that has repairability, upgradability, quality and style baked into it's DNA.
Why would anyone put Windows on this beautiful machine!
Ответитьi hope they also make an entry level/budget version because it costs way too much for me
ОтветитьWhen dreams become reality. Please let this company be the game changer of all game changers. Eff apple... hopefully they od from huffing so much glue over the years.
ОтветитьThe biggest issue i have with the framework laptop is connectivity, my Laptop has 3x USB A, a HDMI, minidisplayport, Ethernet, SD card reader, thunderbolt. a headphone and dedicated microphone port and i still wish i would have more available ports, i am really sorry framework, but with the severe lack of ports i can have at a time this is really a dealbreaker for me
Ответитьdid you say the keyboard is held down by "at least 50 screws?"
ОтветитьNo Nvidia graphics
ОтветитьMy only complaints would be the price and the screen size. I can get a good 16" laptop for less than their 13" model. The 16" model would lack all those port options and ability to swap out the screen, etc., but the most important parts, being able to upgrade the memory and storage, would still be there.
ОтветитьI will note as of 2023-06-05, Framework is selling 11th gen Intel mainboards and 12th gen Intel mainboards, with 13th gen Intel and Ryzen 7040 mainboards available for pre-order. Additionally, they're previewing the Framework 16 (a larger offering) pretty hard.
Ответить❤Indian compny
ОтветитьThey don't ship to 90% of countries in the world. How can we buy??!
Ответитьwish they are more accessible in asia market...
ОтветитьDon't let the big companies buy Framework out. They'll say they'll support the idea at first and slowly kill it after some time...
ОтветитьMonkey
ОтветитьThis thing doesn't deserver a 10 it deserver a 11
ОтветитьI want it, but they won't ship to Romania
Ответить10/10
ОтветитьI think it makes more using an external GPU with thunderbolt ok this laptop
ОтветитьRemember when HP laptops (Pavilions amongst others) had hard drives, memory and wifi cards which you could replace via separate lids on the bottom, with one or two captive screws per lid?
So WITHOUT having to open up the whole laptop? Framework laptop doesn't have that! This is why they don't deserve a ten. I might be nitpicking and Framework deserves all the praise for their efforts and even more customers, but i wouldn't go higher than a 9.5 out of ten
Finally a repairable notebook computer! Enterprises will be all over this!
ОтветитьI love to see this going very well, this laptop recieved upgrades as promised, to 12th gen, 13th gen and Ryzen, and they just announced a 16 inch version with dedicated graphics and the holy grail that I really think this time will be accomplished upgradeable graphics, and to top that out they will be expanding to more countries reaching mine this year, really looking forward to that 16 inch
ОтветитьLmao this laptop doesn't deserve a 10/10, it deserves a 100/10
ОтветитьGiven all the hype, I seriously considered getting a framework laptop. Then I saw the price. Ridiculous. I expected a bit of a mark-up for making it more repair friendly but not such extreme price hikes. What they were asking for entry level specs was the same as a top end machine from a mainstream brand. Quite honestly any advantages of repairability melts away - you could get a mainstream laptop with the same specs with extended warranty/professionally repaired multiple times and have buckets of change leftover.
ОтветитьThis brings me back the TAMIYA fever, where you'd build your own racing car.. this is revolutionary! awesome
Ответить❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьI would sell my current laptop to get a framework
ОтветитьThey actually make the new laptop with dedicated GPU upgrade, also RGB, and other features like changing the keyboard and trackpad position.
ОтветитьAged like wine
ОтветитьSo... it seems like your worries are answered, they launched 12th gen intel and even planned for Ryzen 7000 series
ОтветитьWill it run MacOS?
ОтветитьForget being perfect, is it better than Apple?
Ответитьif this was made like 3-4 years ago i would buy it without hesitation...
unfortunately no one is competitive anymore with apples M cpus... literally no one, in any way
My next laptop is this one. Period.
Ответитьversion 2 is coming (16 inches) and, not only it will have a GPU, it will be replaceable, even with other things!
ОтветитьI love my Framework! It's a bargain compared to the stack of laptops I've been through over the years.
ОтветитьAll laptops should be made like this.
ОтветитьThere is no such thing as THE objectively perfect one-size-fits-all device just as there aren't all that many devices that are lacking in every single possible aspect, hence why I never rate lowest or highest as these would implicate one of both extremes which is why I immediately get suspicious whenever I see a completely full/empty rating.
A minor nitpick (like the cables getting a little in the way when inserting the wifi module - i can already see myself pinching them by accident at some point when upgrading or replacing something) makes it per definition imperfect giving a 10/10 nontheless devalues the term perfect and voids any meaning from 10/10 resulting in 9/10 or 9.5/10 being more accurate approaches. Curious for the 16" maybe there's a little more room and/or less free-dangling wires.
5/10, the CPU doesn't have an IHS and isn't replacable
Ответитьmy ideal laptop
ОтветитьComing soon from framework
16 inch version
Higher capacity batteries
Number pads (16 inch version only)
GPU modules (technically anything else if wanted)
Better hinges
AMD and 13th gen mainboards
After more than 10 years with my good ole t430 it might be just the right time for an upgrade 😂😅😊
Ответить11
ОтветитьAre you able to detach the screen from the back cover or both need to be replaced at once?
ОтветитьWhy wave your hands so much?
Try to calm down. It's a bit distracting
Framework 16 is coming !!!
