Well explained thx!
ОтветитьGood tutorial. Thanks. Heading to a break that I don't know all that well yet and they're forecasting for possibly of up to 6ft waves. These tips should be helpful!
ОтветитьI've been surfing since 2001. I'm still a beginner.
ОтветитьHey Brock!, I’m a newer surfer , I’ve been quite a few times over the summer and have gotten down catching smaller waves and being able to turn well, I’m on a 6,4 board with a fish style tail, the first time I went out, I got discouraged going in 4ft waves, I nose dived a few times and built up a fear, I got really tired trying to get out past the waves but u just was too afraid to catch one and get held under, I know know about your breathing technique and how to control that for going under , but any major tips for arguing 3 or 4ft waves again?
ОтветитьTake your phone got hot at work so you can serve
ОтветитьSurtings been my life since I was 5 or 6 now 40. I enjoyed your video
ОтветитьReally insightful. The voice of experience
ОтветитьMy biggest issue these days is catching waves in sloppy surf. I would be interested to know your thoughts.
ОтветитьI body surfed for years before I started surfing I would only surf in places completely out of the way from other surfers because I didn’t want to get in their way but only after I learned that I could hold my own, I started going in more crowded spaces ..nowadays people that don’t know how to surf go to the best surf spot and just get in the way and put people in danger
ОтветитьThis is a superb video. I wonder if you can do one about positioning yourself on the board while paddling vs catching vs caught the wave? I came across a terrible video (won't name names) misinforming everyone, so I wrote a massive comment trying to correct it and thought it'd be great if you could do a video with more sense to it. I'll drop the gist of 2 of my comments in a reply to myself here just for info as to what I'm talking about - not to say you should use it, I may be wrong in some details. The 2nd comment actually refers to a great couple of sequences from this video.
ОтветитьI totally agree with you,I'm 61 still surfing sense the 60s. You have to be in touch with the ocean, and be able to read it.
ОтветитьAbout to start learning at Alex Heads - sunny coast qld... your videos have been excellent and invaluable. The last thing I want is to tick off other people out on the water - learning etiquette video and wave paddle technique has been awesome. Thanks mate.
ОтветитьTo long...
ОтветитьYes but ..
Stop doing what??
Thanks for the info 🌊🏄♀️
ОтветитьAll surfers started the same way as newbies and own 0% of the ocean so get out there and do your thing 🤙
ОтветитьPart of learning to surf and moving your way through the pack
ОтветитьKALE BROCKOLI
ОтветитьJust found your channel. I love it! I live in North TX. A good 6-8 hours from the Galveston and South Padre. I have been a surf enthusiast since I was a teen. I went to Australia and did a 3 day surf trip when I was 24. We went to Crescent Head, Arawwara, and Byron Bay. It was so awesome!
My dream of being an amateur was put on the shelf when I came back to Texas. Life happened. Now I'm about to be 41 and reconnecting with my souls purpose.💙🥰🏄♀️ Thank you for these tutorials! 💙
There fresh waves
ОтветитьNO, the beauty of that location is not secondary. It is all of a piece. That's an integral part of surfing.
ОтветитьSeru...!
ОтветитьI want to learn how to surf but I am so scared of a shark biting me. 🦈😳
ОтветитьI have absolutely no one to talk about this since none of my friends surf and honestly don’t like talking to random surfers on the beach but holy shit catching waves is so hard. I skate, snowboard but holy shit surfing is a whole nother game. I’m starting out on a short board cause I wanna slash and turn, but holy fuck I either pop up too early or pop up too late, wipe out, then have to paddle back out and then I’m all tired out getting crashed at by oncoming mini waves
Ответитьi hate hit intro
ОтветитьAfter getting hit by a stingray I never wanna be in the ocean without my board again 😂
Ответитьwhenever i try positioning myself at my skill level part next to the peak there is always someone on the peak
ОтветитьAbout to call off work
ОтветитьHii ive been watching your videos for a while but i have a question what do you do with a shoulder injury as ive had it for over 2 months and it still hurts i cant go surfing do you have any tips or solutions
ОтветитьIs this Avalon Beach? Got stuck there 12 years ago as a backpacker 😄
ОтветитьI’m a newbie, and I get so much hate. But bro waves are free and I’m going to practice on every wave that comes through mab
ОтветитьGreat vid - as always. Could you provide some hints and tips about positioning to catch waves in a wave pool? The take-off timing seems quite critical and it seems to be a fine line between missing the wave or ending up with a face plant!
ОтветитьThank you! Thank you!!!! Thank you!!!! I had my best surf this morning thanks to this! I didn't realize my problem lies with positioning. I wish I learned about this earlier. It would have been a game changer. So massive thanks to you, Kale!
ОтветитьWith 3 foot surf would you use a 7.10 or a 10 foot board???,
Ответитьhey dude I just want to say thanks. That is an awesome video and it really helped, especially catching the wave. I would always have my back to it. So thanks for the video.
ОтветитьThank you for this! I got a surfboard for Christmas and I’ve been trying to learn, but it is extremely slippery. It is a foam board and I was wondering, can you put surf wax on a foam board?
ОтветитьAwesome video! Will (mostly) overlook the music.
Ответитьlove ur videos !
ОтветитьAfter watching this video I think I should not surf the 5 m waves as a beginner lol. The setups in the videos look way easier
Ответитьwhat is thaf fat wide board on the wall opposite to your TV...?????
ОтветитьEvery day a New learn/(
ОтветитьIve been surfing for a year, and I was finally able to get on my first wave! Im hype af, need to learn how to go to the sides now xD. But wish I had beginner waves where Im from, have been in only bigger waves (for my level) so its been a grind, but I havent quit and wont till Im decent enough to move through a wave well.
ОтветитьThank you very much for the insight Kale ❤️❤️
ОтветитьFrom a more competitive surfers perspective for all the new surfers so they can watch out for next time or know why they are mad- surf ethnic is essential- if u paddle out where there are good waves and you can’t even pop up so not go out there play in the foam or people will get pissed, let’s say you can pop and u can ride the wave do not DROP in if someone is deeper aka closer to the peek aka has the longest possible ride do not ride the wave if he catches. Or who ever has been waiting the longest this is important if there are different types of boards in the water like longboards and short boarders - in my personal experience long boarders can be very selfish so watch out
ОтветитьI have a question. If a guy goes around a peak what you should do?
ОтветитьNice Video, good on you for sharing and trying to help others enjoy the sport. I quit surfing 20 years ago because every time you go out the lineup is further out and requires a strong paddle in. If you tried to get away from that long paddle in (as you are showing) you would have everyone cuss you out and possibly beat your A$$. Not what I call enjoyment at all thus 'I hung up the boards'. Most beaches in Calif and Hawaii are the same 'Local only' and fighting. Was hopeful that the pool wave technology would take off and normal people could schedule some time riding wave after wave but sadly it never arrived. Maybe it will come for the next generation.
ОтветитьDoes pivot works with beginer long board ?
Ответитьswimming and body surfing is the most underrated mode of learning about waves...
Ответитьhes good helpfull points for sure
