I had the leg issue come up on my CECHE model but not on my CECHA model, maybe it got fixed at some point when Sony pushed a system update that silently fixed how they use the PS2 hardware? No idea

Honestly I would argue the best way to play SH2 is on PC with the Enhanced Edition mod, it does a wonderful job cleaning that game up.

@Mystic I have a CECHA01 and have tested many PS2 games on lists that proport the games are buggy or don't work and I am yet to find one that actually is buggy or doesn't work.
My suspicion is either these lists come from people with hardware damage on their PS3s. Or, another theory is Sony fixed the issues somewhere down the track.
Btw, there are more serious compatibility problems when you start to use upscalers like the RetroTink 4k. One issue with the PS3's back-compat is that it has irreversible bob-deinterlacing and there are several others.

A game that I know wouldn't work on the backwards compatible PS3 I had (CECHE01) was Marvel Nemesis Rise of the Imperfects. It kept freezing whenever I tried it. One thing I've learned after having it YLOD on me, the non-backwards compatible fats are better. The 2 CECHG01 PS3s I own now are way quieter, and have no issues

Keep in mind that some of those bugs or B/C quirks were quietly patched via software updates, so the list could be outdated when it comes to the version each game was tested in, for example Crash Twinsanity used to hang hard on the first loading screen on 1.5 and lower but after that update the hangs reduced a lot, from 80% chance of hanging on a loading screen to something like 20% to 30%, the last update that pathed the internal PS2 emu HW/GX I believe was 1.92 or something like that, after that they decided to focus on the newer ps3 iterations.

Sony should have had their heads checked when they made the pS3 slim which can't play the PS2 games, I won't buy the energy hog older ps3 just to play the ps2, i know they are old systems.

Besides the title screen issues, the issues with DBZ Sagas is just inherent to how shit the game is.

I’m guessing that overtime PlayStation made an update to the backwards compatibility to fix the bugs and issues of the PS2 game that were reported that’s my property guest. What happened and those games seem to work

as a kid i remember trying to play ratchet and clank 2 on my ps3, it got very slow and the frames were pretty choppy, i'm not sure if it was the fully backwards compatible ps3 that i had but i know it did run ps2 games and for the most part flawlessly

Idk about most of these, but the data disappearing with Persona 4 actually effected my copy of Persona 4 on my internal memory card

Im betting since the games were ran on CD-ROM and then DVD-ROM drives on the original hardwares and the PS3 using a BluRay drive the CONDITION of the disc could be the cause.
The framerate issues could be the upscaling. If game pushed the PS2 and then you're playing it upscaled to 1080 may be reason.
