I love how this video is 31 minutes and 31 seconds long lol
ОтветитьGood men aren't always good presidents. I don't know if I'd prefer a good president whose not a good person or a good person who isn't a good president.
ОтветитьTbf a not great president at a terrible bad time. But a good man
ОтветитьRobert Spencer gave him a zero out of ten in his book rating the American presidents. Yep He was a bad president.
ОтветитьAnd after Hoover, Donald Trump stayed at that hotel 😉 rewatch home alone 2 you will see him
ОтветитьI hate that im learning about american history
Ответить"I'm Mr. Beat, not to be confused with Herbert Hoover, who this video is about."
I don't believe you.
A good man and a bad president
ОтветитьHe had a 385 electoral vote swing between being elected and reelected
Ответитьhoover is a horrible president because he gave solution to his aasistant and say "stop wasting my time" afterwards
he also said "ill look into it" too often
"money is ruining democracy" how to fix it? "give money"
ОтветитьHow about we give political powers an unlimited credit card (I'm assuming they already do) and then it's open to the public to see their spending, who's saving money and who's blowing the budget.
Ответитьi love the title, excited to watch the video
ОтветитьWhat is fascinating that you mentioned that he criticised Franklin Roosevelt's "New Deal" policies which seems ridiculous after the mess he made while in office. I would like to know more in-depth analysis about that to understand what exactly he was critical about (certainly FDR and his policies were not perfect but ultimately were successful and widely acclaimed).
Hoover certainly did some great things as an individual however his ideas of how state powers should interact with the general public and deficit spending made him a horrible choice to be a president at certain crisis situations where the solution was more complex than a couple of steps and would have needed re-evaluation of his own ideologies
Perhaps it had something to do with having a Republican Congress. After the election Hoover suggested to FDR what he should do. Roosevelt told him he had had his chance, now it was his. It matters if Congress will work together. Don't let it happen now./ again.
ОтветитьYou don't get to be called a humanitarian and "have a positive impact" if you're a racist piece of shit.
ОтветитьThe book "Herbert Hoover: The Forgotten Progressive".
ОтветитьWell heck...I sure didn't know that! Thanks for a very informative video.
ОтветитьHe didn’t feed the world!! He fed WHITE PEOPLE!!
ОтветитьArchie and Edith bunker loved Herbert Hoover.
ОтветитьIf any other person was elected in 1928 probably would be an unsuccessful president. The name "Herbert" is considered an uncool name, probably because of (President Hoover).
ОтветитьOn his last full day in office in 1933, President Hoover signed The Buy American Act into law, requiring all government purchases to be American sourced. Although diluted somewhat by an increasingly treasonous congress, Hoover's act guaranteed that all of FDR's massive spending programs would be recycled within the American economy, which launched almost 40 years of middle class manufacturing growth until President Truman's disastrous decision to back the French colonialists in Vietnam in 1945 doomed the U.S. to perennial trade debt by 1975. We haven't run a single trade surplus since President Jimmy Carter.
Ответитьthere's something so effortlessly surreal about these videos that im addicted to
ОтветитьSo Hoover was worried he would make the people dependent on the government, but made the banks dependent on the government.
ОтветитьFranklin D. Roosevelt based many of his so-called "New Deal" policies targeting the Great Depression on those of Herbert Hoover.
ОтветитьNo dijiste nada en la U*
ОтветитьInteresting fact about the bonus army being driven out is that the commander of the U. S. Army that ran them off and destroyed their camp was headed by Douglas MacArthur.
ОтветитьIf Hulda was from Canada (and even if she wasn't), she never saw the Canadian flag that presented at the beginning of this video! It did not exist before 1965!
ОтветитьHe was a humanitarian, not much of a politician
ОтветитьMassive internal bleeding? That doesn’t just happen spontaneously
ОтветитьIf Hoover is to be ridiculed for "Great depression", then FDR should be pilloried for throwing Poland under the bus, for surrendering to Stalin and for throwing innocent Japanese into internment camps.
Hoover served mankind much more through his humanitarian causes than any president typically in his term. Hoover saved many countries from starving, which is much more relieving than presidency.
this is a fine example of "Listen to the other end of story". He is actually better than other US presidents like f*****g McKinley who f**ked my country hard.
ОтветитьHerbert Hoover must be my cousin, because he also works in mining in Western Australia
ОтветитьHe was not at all a terrible president. However he should not have acted as per Keynes mindset, that aggrevated the crisis.
More importantly he was an outstanding engineer as well as an excellent humanitarian who saved so many countries in their crisis. Moreover he had a challenging upbringing and earned everything he got.
He has been unfairly evaluated.
Man, how those veterans were treated is disgusting. Especially when you know what many pf them went through in combat. WWI was nasty,
Ответитьhe blamed mexicans for the great depression and deported him tho
ОтветитьIn my opinion, Hoover did nothing for the world. He did everything for Europe, though. And what we need to understand is Europe and Europeans do not represent the world. They represent a group of people, but not the world. President Hoover couldn't care less about Africans or black people.. He couldn't care less about native Americans. So when you put in perspective. The fact that native Americans, which are also considered Mexicans and black people, as well as foreign Africans. We're not fed, we're not taking care of so don't say he fed the world, he fed Europe.
ОтветитьPoor Hoover. Everyone hates him, he loves everyone. Poor guy. His parents died, he was separated from his siblings, he even died a slowly painful death. (Massive internal bleeding) He could’ve lived until the age of 100, but he didn’t. Poor Hoover :(
ОтветитьI love the squirrel correcting mr beat 😂
ОтветитьTrump was an even worse president who couldn't care less about people.
ОтветитьI had heard that Hoover wasn't the best prez but after hearing that he didn't want to spend money he didn't have and wanted to keep us on the gold standard I am now convinced he got a bad wrap. Nobody does those things that is a conman.
ОтветитьClinton
ОтветитьNo way mr beast give me money
Ответитьall $# given in this one u need to multiply by at least 14 if not 20 to get to todays $
So when he says 100M what u need to think is between 1.4B-2B. Then remember he was not for gov barrowing as well as not much for it for any Human only for corps read his speeches and writings
U will find that must of what he has to say is BS and nothing but. No real reason for what ever just a the right does today
I know you can't include every minute detail, but I was VERY surprised you didn't mention his mass deportation of ethnic Mexicans, including over half a Million who were American citizens. Most of those deported had some kind of legal status. They were just rounded up without warrants, jailed, and deported without legal procedure. I believe he came up with the term expatriation. Great innovator. Mr Garrison would love him, "Can we get rid of all the Mexicans?"
ОтветитьHis museum in West Branch IA. Id excellent.
